Calendar improvements: email/notifications, pruning

I've always liked the Calendar interface for IPB, but also always thought it was lacking some important features.  A few ideas:

• I think it would be great to have a drag and drop interface for duplicating events (which is not the same as creating recurring events) to make things easier.
• it would be even better to be able to send out notifications and/or emails to all or certain groups/individuals X amount of time before said event
• And how about pruning?  If one puts a lot of events in one's Calendar it can take up DB space; what if we were able to prune all single/non-recurring events from X amount of time or from the very beginning?
