Hey Guys, I installed the forum, updated it with the latest upgrade (yes, the NO_SET error is still happening) and I made sure the /themes/ folder is writeable. Now, I create a new theme, give it a name -> save -> and change the colors (designer mode) -> save -> no changes in the website. (I changed to the theme in the bottom of the forum), going back to the skin editor it loads the skin but without the changes... whats going on? Then I went to the manual css/html editor, did some changes -> Save -> and I get this: This theme file could not be saved So what to do now? I can't edit my theme with designer mode or manual editor? Sitemap.php in IPS 4.0 is a nifty little tool that automates your Sitemap.xml creation and update. Since I didn't have a clue I thought I'd do a little write up on properly using it because I did some major changes and wanted Google to pick it up sooner than possible. First, you want to enable "Use recommended settings?" or modify it to your liking. System -> Search Engine Optimization -> Sitemap. Make sure the url is pointing to the already installed sitemap.php (http://YourDomain.com/sitemap.php). Next, go to your root directory and remove or rename your old sitemap.xml. Hi I am creating two articles databases, to be available in different member areas. I was able to export and import the actual database structure for the articles database, but could see no way to import or export record, either individually or as a bulk action. I searched and found a tool that will allow the export of records to a csv file ( I am not sure of ipb4 compatibility). Marcher used to have the ability in is Content Utilities, but that is not ipb4 compatible and development stopped years ago. Hello, I want to ask you guys how can I make a forums section available for admins (to view and read and post) and to the normal member to only see his own topic. Hello, I have come onto my forum this evening and I am faced with a blank white screen. www.avillafan.com/forum When i try to log into the admin panel - I get the login screen but when i login I once again come up with a white screen. Hello, is it possible to make a single category forum? In other words, all topics are in one category. As far as I can tell, I have to make a forum and category. However when a visitor comes they will have to click to go into that forum, rather than just the topics being displayed on the homepage of the site itself. (hopefully i am explaining that well enough).

Hi there, we have successfully moved from VB 5 to IPB and suggest anyone struggling with VB to do the same. You won't be disappointed.. On another note, our forums run for close to a decade on the VB software and there are lots of links from the old forums still cached by the SEO/search engines. Search results are pointing to old links and how do we go about using a 404 redirect to point to our new website from within IP?

So I was just about starting to get the hang of adding my own bb codes to 3 and then 4 confuses me all over again. So my question is, are there any tutorials out that that help me to A/ add special bb code to 4 and B/ help me to create bb code post templates? I would really like an accordion and also a tabbed post template (for use in forum rules as well as posts) and would pay for them to be created, but I also want to learn how to code this stuff myself. Hi More a question that IPB staff can answer than anything else... I am creating member hubs within my community. One for standard members, one for subscribers, and one for site staff. As part of that I want to use the articles database to create an articles database for each of those groups. I get I can export the structure and import it to a new database. Ideal (if only I could import/export records, but that is asked in another post). My question is about what would happen during upgrades. Would any upgrades to the articles database only be reflected on the original? What about new demo articles etc? I ask because some of those articles will only be…

On V3 we let members upload profile photos up to 170x200 pixels, or 170x250 pixels for people who have donated to the site. Is there a way to set that up to work the same way in V4? I've already changed the post template to use the full size photo, but it seems impossible to restrict what people upload.

I would like users directed to a specific page on logout. I have accomplished this with the exception of areas: the notification area, the conversation area (computer,tablet,phone) directed to ipb logout page instead of the index page anywhere using (tablet,phone) directed to IPB logout page instead of the index page Any thoughts?:)
