New to IPS, want to learn how to mod my site. I decided to start with something simple, I downloaded the "EZ Scroll Top" and I have the xml file. Now what? I couldn't find anything in the guide section and no instructions when I downloaded it.

This seems to be the strangest thing. If I go to Edit Profile on my own account, I can only fill in an About Me section. No Signature area even shows up. If I go to Edit Profile on another forum member, I can edit their About Me and also their Signature. Anyone have any idea about this??

Greetings. I'd like to hide the date of the 1st post of the topic from a few forums if possible. If it needs to be for all forums, then it's ok. The point is to hide how old a topic is, specially when there are no answers. This doesn't mean there is not date, only that it is not visible. I wonder if there is a way to do that, even if I have to modify manually the template somehow. Thanks

I have Steam, Twitch and Facebook login handlers active. All three were working for me before the latest update. Now when you try to login or sign up you get returned to a "The page you requested does not exist" that is with any of the three, all return the same error. Site: https://www.swgaming.com Any incite/help will be greatly appreciated as I have no idea what to do now. I made sure all CHMOD perms were correct and even re-uploaded the files for Twitch and Steam to no avail.

Hi am starting to offer downloads for sale. The content is rather large video files and it's quickly chewing through the space on my web server. Is there a way to MOVE just the downloads data files? (separate from forum attachments) Can I move them after people are already using it? Can I move it back? Can I setup a NAS and have only the downloads load from the NAS I don't care if the downloads file transfers are slow because it's rarely used compared to the rest of the site. Also I need to have the large storage capacity a NAS can provide. Suggestions.. ideas?

When I click on the Update Available tag under System in ACP>Applications, I get taken to an error page stating " 2S107/1 The page you are trying to access is not available for your account. " Is this correct, or an error?

For some reason, when new members sign up to my website and buy access to a recurring membership the membership automatically expires after only one day (renewals of the memberships are set to occur every day). why is that? When I go to each member though the administration panel there is a check box under 'purchase settings' that says 'does not expire'. It is currently un checked for each member. How do I activate that option automatically? thanks for your help

The pricing on IPB cloud is tied to the number of simultaneous users online. I'm on a very tight budget for what is essentially a vanity project. So I would like to cap the number of users at my maximum so I don't ever get charged for having too many simultaneous users. Is there a code to block new users and guests for accessing site when you reach a certain number? Thanks

I am running 4.1.17 and I can see RSS feed creation feature in IPB Admin Panel. I tried to create a new RSS feed for the topics of my forum. 1) The problem is it displays the RSS feed sorted by Topic Posted Date, but I need it to display based on latest reply date. 2) Max number of RSS items possible is 100. But I need 150 items. Can you please tell me where to edit and get these done ? I am open to editing of source code files. Thank You !

I've been following this thread In order to set up our homepage to show a stream of activity. It defaults to 'All Activity' which in the stream settings has 4 or 5 options to refine. However, we'd like to select the default homepage "All Activity" stream to show a customized stream instead. Inside the Streams options you can finely tweak and dial your own custom streams. Does anyone know if it's possible to use one of those custom streams in place of the "All Activity" default that one gets when select 'content discovery' as your default application module?

Hallo, while uploading a pdf-file in a post I got an error message There was a problem processing the uploaded file. Please contact us for assistance. It make no difference if i save to database or filesystem. The pdf is small. 557kb I enlarged the attachment size to 50mb and every thing was fine. But after the update IPS and php we can attach no more attachments. Need help. Thanks Olaf

I noticed the color picker with fewer colors, but I used to be able to right click a topic title and it produced an editable box where you could change/modify the title. Has that been removed? It no longer works since upgrading.

Signed up thinking there is a resident chat function, but learned it is being discontinued although still listed on marketing brochure/website. I have cometchat, but there is no documentation that I can find on installing cometchat on IPB Cloud. Can someone help. I installed on a rival hosting and it was a piece of cake, but can't seem to figure out on IPB. Thanks.

Hi I am looking into setting up a non-profit. Although products are likely, donations are definite... my question is about hooking up the commerce module to paypal donations. Their donations button allows for creating monthly donations, but I plan to reward those giving monthly donations and I hop to do it via the invision commerce module. Is this at all possible? If i create a member group, can I create a monthly donation subscription via commerce that will assign members to that group? I know I can do this with subscriptions that are not donations. If this is not possible... are there any other possibilities I should look at? Monitoring monthly paypal don…

Right now if someone clicks on an advertisement on my forums, the ads website opens in the same window as the Board, instead of in a separate Window/Tab. Is there an adminCP function that can set ads to open in a separate window? (These Ads are placed using the native IPS Advertisement functions/section.) I can't seem to find any. Thanks.

...without letting them access things like the AdminCP? All I want to do is make a group of Admins/Mods and give them the ability to lock/merge/delete/etc threads, warn other members, see IPs and basically all mod-related stuff, but I can't seem to find a way to give them any powers outside of making them actual "site owner" admins and letting them access the AdminCP, which is not something I want to do. Please aid me.

Hi, I recently moved my forums to a new server (PHP 5.4->PHP 7.0, Apache to NGINX), and today I decided to test if registration is working properly. Unfortunately, I found a problem I can't resolve myself. Once 'create my account' button is pressed the page reloads only to tell the user that the username is already taken. No verification email is sent to entered email addresses either. The strange part is that new account is added as a member, despite the requirement for email verification. Before submitting the form and after: Members are added to the database, despite shown error. Also, for some reason IPs are wrong. …

Greetings. I am not exactly sure where to put this, so apologies in advance if I'm in the wrong section. I currently have a drop-down selector box with a bunch of states listed (Australia) and want to know if there is an automatic way (without going via subscriptions) to link a particular selection to a state secondary group. As an example, if a member lives in Queensland (QLD) and selects this option from the drop-down box, I'd like for them to be added to the QLD group as a secondary option. Is anyone running IP Downloads and serving the files from above of the Public_HTML level? I want to have IPB store and serve files from that level, but not sure if uploading, importing or downloading will stop working if I try this. Changing the setting and waiting is not an option because of how many files i have.
