My website runs both WordPress, and Invision forums. Both in their own folders. Some time ago, I received the "Dangerous PHP Functions Enabled" warning from my dashboard. So I added the following PHP.ini file in my root folder - disable_functions = "exec, system, pcntl_exec, popen, proc_open, shell_exec, passthru" This solved the issue. However, whilst troubleshooting a WordPress issue yesterday, I was told by my hosting tech support that some WordPress plug-ins need the exec function, and indeed this particular issue was fixed by removing the "exec" section. Hello everyone. We bought our Invision Community forum a few months ago. Since we're creating a gaming platform, we need to customize our memberships, and basically we're going to do two things ourselves with our programmers. One of them is SMS confirmation by phone to memberships. For this we have to go to the membership customization and edit the system files (We did the same very easily in the SMF forum) but Invision is a bit of a closed box and I guess we can't do anything about it except the front/front end design. Hello, Today Super Blocks plugin was updated a few hours ago. It is now compatible with 4.7. I purchased it a few months ago but there is a problem. I have version 1.3.0 but when I click on check updates on my ACP, this plugin won't be an option, even though it's compatible with 4.7. Problems: 1. New update won't appear on my ACP 2. Plugin cannot be located when I search on my ACP's marketplace. What is the problem? Thanks

So far I've encountered 2 sites, one of my own, where it randomly went down with an error 500. The only fix was to use a new theme. The actual fix is to disable template caching, so I suspect there's an issue with that right now. The errors did not generate any logs, nor did any logs happen at the host level. So this post is basically useless outside of giving people encountering the issue another thing to try while waiting for support. Wild baseless guess: The new simple theme editor is borking cache

The form in the filter block is always formatted as ipsForm_vertical, even if using the block in the main content. This should be at least ipsForm_horizontal. Better to display it the same way the search does, where the fields are displayed as columns to save place for long filter forms: Yes, I am aware the last one is a suggestion. 😄 I could not stop, please concentrate on the first line.

Hello, We run a dedicated server with two Invision Community installs. The PHP version currently running is 7.3 which is deprecated. For the new upgrade, I need to change this to at least 7.4, although I also have access to PHP8.0. My problem starts when I change the version in WHM Multi-PHP Manager. I checked with main Invision install and the screen goes white. I tried disabling applications in Invision, with no luck. I then tried the other Invision installation and the same occurs there. After upgrading to 4.7, I'm getting the following when trying to access my admin. [[Template core/admin/global/globalTemplate is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]] Tried recovery mode, doesn't work. Tried re-uploading all files and upgrading again. No upgrade available. Anything else I can try?

Upgraded to the 4.7 version. Our site runs the brave theme (https://invisioncommunity.com/files/file/8063-brave-ipsfocuscom/), so getting warnings that we need to update the theme after upgrade is normal. Typically we can still access the interface and change to a default theme, upgrade the theme and revert back to using it. I did verify that the theme has an upgrade available once we are on 4.7 we would go to the marketplace and upgrade it. This time upon completion of the upgrade both the ACP and basic site generates 500 error. Our test instance of Invision suffered an update error so we blew away the file structure of the forums per: and uploaded the most current version of the software. Mind you this is the EXACT same URL and path we used and had licensed for our previous TestInstall < 36 hrs ago. Running the site and forum/admin/install all system checks are green. Entering in our license code with ****-****-****-****-****-TESTINSTALL per the instructions in the aforementioned guide and we get: "A test installation has already been activated for this license key. Your license key entitles you to one test installation only." The guide says: Thoughts?

This isn't really need for support, but it's a question for the Invision team. 🙂 A member on our forum just asked this, and I realize that none of the Admin team knows the answer. When users upload photos or documents into posts, are they scanned for viruses? Is there any sort of file scanning going on in IPS? Thanks in advance!

For years we have published our articles the same way ... Our users, depending on permissions have 3 ways to do it. Admins/Mods can use the backend (create new article) or the front-end (add new article). Our editorial team - which has permissions slightly below moderator level - does not have access to this so creates an article in a dedicated forum (sometimes from a previously created template that is first copied to the relevant forum) and one of the admins or mods then promote these to an article. So everything was great, until it wasn't. I updated to the latest IPS version and all was going well, up until I tried to clear system logs using https://invisioncommunity.com/files/file/10090-tb-delete-all-system-logs-button/ As soon as I clicked the button I was met with a 500 error. The front end of the site works fine, I just can no longer access the adminCP. When a guest user purchase an product, after he filled the register account and paid the order, the account filled in register form doesn't create. In ACP the transaction is approved but order is pending. User need to manual register again by the correct register page (not in payment page) to make the register works. How to fix this situation? I'm not sure if this is related to my recent issues with the ACP or not, but since that problem was fixed, I now cannot view members within the ACP. Hey All, As I watch a new test conversion take place and stare at the progress counter, I started to think, what are the best practices for member groups? From my understanding from the guides and reading around: Members will not acquire styling from secondary groups, only primary. With the above point, that means Admins and Mods should have those respective groups as primary so that they acquire staff styling. I've tried to link my two communities with the method provided in the API section of Invision Community. However, every day I get these 401 Unauthorized errors and it causes the other forum to get barred from using the API. As far as I know, everything is set up right. Would appreciate any help! This is what happens once the IP of the second forum is banned when someone tries to login This is the failed requests from the other forum. The weird thing is that it works for the most part, so it seems like the forum is only sometimes sending the wrong client secret.
