You can use Automatic Content Moderation option in your Admin Panel for that. It will help a lot.

They are last time I checked. The Archived field IIRC is more for whether or not you've removed something from the archive that was archived, manually. Its intended to make sure that it doesn't re-archive something that you resurrected from the archive.

So first off it moves them to a separate table no matter what (the purpose of archiving) or you can move it to a completely different database (the second option there). So again, quick fixes are actually more damaging than you are assuming.

If the php in your new server can not be downgraded temporarily to the version that supports the 3.4. forum version, you can try the method that you mentioned. i.e. install a new 4.1.10 Ipb, import the database and then run the upgrader to upgrade your database. It is worth a try imo. 
But before you try the upgrade, it is best to make a backup of your database and check it to make sure that it has been done properly. Doing that will ensure that no matter what happens, nothing will be lost.

Moderating the first two posts of every new member and blocking the IP once they posted spam. They will eventually give up. 

You probablly has POST BEFORE REGISTERING enabled then guests has MEMBERS permission and will be prompted to create an account.
BUT if the posts is authored by GUESTS yet, then that's not the case as the posts would be visible only after the account is created.

You can also upload this file (and access it via your web browser) to check that your server meets the minimum requirements for Invision Community. I suspect that your PHP version may be too old.

This would be much nicer if management of the ability to mark who was globally ignored were handled as a consequence to warnings and permission to do so granted as the moderator group level rather than a list of IDs.

If you are using third party items you will need to wait for each one to be updated for 4.5 or confirmed the current version is working with 4.5.  Since 4.5 hasn't been released at this point, nobody is working on updates just yet, once developers get their hands on beta versions they can start developing and testing for any needed changes. 
If you are not using any third party items, then once the final version is released, you can upgrade without issue!  
If you have a very large site or items of concern, and are self hosted, you can always do a test install to test your upgrade process and third party items before doing your live community if needed. 
The final golden rule, always do a backup of the database and file system before upgrades, things can sometimes go wrong, so it's always nice to have a quick restore as an option rather than freaking out if your community is troubled with an upgrade issue.
 
 

If you already have another script instaleld in the root of your server, you can not move Ipb in the root as well. What you described can be done by renaming the community folder to forums. Like that it will show as  domain.com/forums. 
What php script are you using as homepage btw?

If you want to prune it from all members without any additional work just run this query:
UPDATE core_members SET mgroup_others = ''; If you have prefix in your sql database just add it before 'core_members'.
 
Before any manual operation on live sql please make a BACKUP first.

Disable the Send diagnostic data? setting and you won't get it anymore.

Well I'm very pleased to see that there is now a global-ignore application available.

When you need to use it, it's worth it's weight in gold.

The way I see it is that you give permissions to view the navbar link only to the groups that are allowed to view the forum.

@Majbritt_mergedcontacted me and I am taking another look now. The forum in question belongs to an older version of Ipb and it is not compatible with the php version in her server. There is also a mysql issue as well. I am working on fixing those issues now. 

My next suggestion would be to download the whole site and run it in wamp localhost to see if you can get it running. But I’m afraid of suggesting such a thing if you’re not sure on how it all works or how to do it.
Just like MissB I’m happy to have a quick look on cPanel and just check everything is correct and that it matches up. Though I’m not sure how much more I’d be able to do if MissB has gone through everything, but offer is there.

I think that is because of the great features that have been added in 4.5. That is why some people are getting impatient imo.
