I'm not sure if I understood this new category for additional links means, but if you want to make "menu links" in additional links area, you can use IPS guide to do it. with little tweak it is possible to add menu links in there like your screenshot in second post.
For example, you can add this code as a link in additional links area:

Hi @Runar could you consider extend the Marker functionality for the post too?
Example, a topic with so many posts with different contributions, I would like mark posts so that markes will be able to shown you which post contains information of a specific question or content. People with that markes avoiding reading post by post to find useful information, for later user avoiding asking repeatedly the same question and repeatedly giving again the same reply.

I have a introduction message for each forum to explain why we encourage to use it, currently it only can see when user open that forum.
I would like have it shown on the forum main page along with the forum Title, so user just click on that Icon to see the introduction content without enter into forum.

Checking out your plugin and looks very promising.  Wish you had the ability to leverage Downloads in posts (forum, blog, calendar, etc..) so if someone creating a post or reply has the ability to add a file to downloads or from downloads.  Basically, I would rather have downloads manage users files then wherever the files go when I click on choose files... at the bottom of a post.  It appears no one offers the ability to embed or attach directly to/from downloads or gallery (prefer downloads to be my file depot).

Forums are dying because they don't adapt to the new way of consuming content and communicate with other people. 
Whether IPS, XF, vB, wBB, ... it's just not fun to use them on mobile, it's way too cumbersome. Besides, a responsive layout can't compete with something designed specifically for these devices.
I mean just look at this, nothing more to say.

Next point, why should I sign up on a forum when I'm already on Discord or wherever? And all my friends are already there too?
Forums will always have their place in some genres like support or other special interrest niches and for oldschool users who prefer desktop computers, but that are minorities.

When I click on the main forum (itself contains others subforums), it show all topics from their sub categories. That is fine. 
When I click on New Topic it show me al sub categories. That is fine. 
Now I just want to go a specific subforum, then I discovered there should be available a subcategories Drawer to be clicked. 
Please consider add a drawer to wrap subcategories, give user facility to click on it and Go To specific forum.

Could you add a send request and accept request mechanism to this app?
When we made a change of author, the current author should be able to send the change request, and the future author accepts the change request.
 

Some time ago, I described how I solved this problem for one of my communities.

Will not more accessible and efficient change the Close botton to down 👇?

Not everyone can or want to invest so much time to post a topic, and creating good topic content...in some case we can help members to post some topics, or just we know how to prepare a topic well written, so we did it but we want to transfer that topic ownership to related member, there already done plugin of Change Topic Author, but we need better mechanism to achieve this little technique action, that is why I request a CORE FEATURE, Transfer Post Ownership. 
That concept is, to achieve the change of a post author (topic or reply) current owner click on a moderation menu Change Author, that action will let current author select a member and send that request, that related member will receive popup notification where he can approve that change. After that the topic or reply just change all others related aspects, the new follower, the subscribe notification etc. 
This transfer ownership mechanism bring us transparency of the content author issue, avoiding members accused of "this is posted by you, not me, because you can handle and just change author of a post without consent of people".

Please Tags already there, just want to request 2 abilities more to make it more comfortable and committed to help us to manage our forums. 
1. As option, in the Create Topic form the Tags defined for each forum should be visible, it just will clearly asking topic creator which tag they can use:
Select at least one tag 
Tag One, Tag Two, Tag 3333, tag 456789 
2. In case so many tags defined, apply an tags drawer so just click on it to select tag
