  1. Some thoughts: 1. Google is going to do what Google wants. 🤪 2. You can try to be proactive and to streamline your registration. This means: setting up more social sign-ins like Microsoft, Apple, and Google; allowing post before register; making sure that your guest widget is on all pages; choosing the simple registration versus the full page registration, etc.
  2. You can use Google Analytics to give you the list of most visited pages.
  3. Just curious, and off topic from the feedback (which I do believe has merit), why would you not create a category in the same database with permissions that are private for your review team? Why do you use a private club and then transcribe?
  4. This is not a perfect solve, but set up Word Filters for keywords. Also: - Prepare and warn your moderator team. They can mark users as Spam. - Change your registration and security challenges (especially hcaptcha to the highest setting) - Drink lots of alcohol 🥃 I dealt with the spam wave back in October: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/474157-site-being-overun-by-spammers/?do=findComment&comment=2956377
  5. 5. This won't make sense to anyone except IPS people, but IPS considers Clubs to be part of the Core application, which is available for everyone. Core also includes Status Updates, Messenger, Community Hive, and other foundational features. 1. You're getting all of the applications, except for Courses. You also won't have access to cloud-specific features like Live Topics, Community Experts, etc. But the basic applications themselves, such as forums and galleries and blogs, will be fine. For people who are new to the IPS ecosystem, the app that I would point you to is the Pages app, which is the most complex but also the most powerful.
  6. Someone from IPS should confirm my interpretation but you only need to create new forums where you want different experts. Experts are assigned to forums. Different forums means you can assign different experts. If you plan on having the same set of community experts, then you can build your forums any way you want. If you plan on having community experts that specialize in different areas (eg. Product support vs ideation), then you will need at least two separate boards.
  7. Cover photos in IPS are tricky, because as Marc has pointed out, the cover photos are responsive and will stretch depending on the size of your window. In all the years that I've seen people struggle (myself included), the best ones that I've seen are where you have a repeating pattern which work regardless of the dimensions. The cover photos where you have one large focal point will always be either too small or too large.
  8. 1. I'm giggling at the cleverness of humanity to continue to find creative new ways to be an @$$ to other members. 2. You may want to investigate some member group settings. For example, you can restrict members from deleting their own personal messages. This does pose other consequences, such as accruing a lifetimes worth of personal messages.
  9. It still ties into the Our Picks widget, Our Picks page, and Our Picks on emails. There is no more social media promotion, but there is a lot tied to the community outreach.
  10. On an additional note, I should add that IPS designed Our Picks / Promotion to be used in a very particular way. Our Picks / Promotion is not meant to be an automated promotion or an RSS feed or a widget of all latest content. We have those already! It's meant to be human curated, which means human selection of content and human-written content. IPS includes the original content as a source of reference. And the actual snippet used in the promotion is designed for you to human summarize the linked content.
  11. Just delete or remove enough characters, and then you will be able to post. You are able to edit or type in that box. This happens to me all of the time. I either truncate the content or override all of the content with my own quick summary.
  12. A user on my community brought this to my attention. I think this may be intended behavior by Google chrome, but should be something reviewed for an overlay by IPS WebP images open in a new tab, and are not scrollable like JPG Sample topic:
  13. 1. When you do a move of your file storage, start with the smallest bucket in case anything goes wrong and the files get corrupted (eg. Blog covers). Theoretically, the transfer of file storage is a relatively easy move. You simply change the file storage for whatever file type, and the system will download the files from the old location and then reupload to the new location. This is not a fast process. 2. IPS only supports S3, they do not officially support S3 compatible. You may potentially encounter issues when using S3 compatible when downloading attachments. Search for Wasabi to see discussions related to that storage method. 3. S3 or S3 storage is cheap. Bandwidth is not cheap. Make sure you evaluate the total cost.
  14. Send a PM to @All Astronauts If he has time to poke around in IC5 Alpha, he has time to send you his S3 workbench.
  15. Interesting. Okay. I did add a WAF rule in Cloudflare, not aware of any changes that I made to my installation on the software side. At least this gives me a starting point to investigate.
