Why isn't there a custom widget block for adding random things to your sidebar like HTML and text?  I was able to add a plugin to do it but I really think this should be a core feature.  I don't have Pages so I am not able to use page builder widgets either.

I got it...just wish there was a core feature for that exact same thing.  I try to keep my forum running with as little3rd party plugins as possible to make it easier to upgrade but it is getting harder and harder because there are so many cool plugins and apps that I want to run!

    Hi,
I noticed that you guys haven't enabled 2FA here in the Invision Community/Client Area. Could you please do that? I am enabling 2FA in all my accounts everywhere.
    Thanks.

There are services like Transifex or Crowdin. IPS could organise a group of collaborators that help translating to their communities languages.

I'd just like to raise this thread from the dead and add a +1. Modern PHP apps use Composer. We extend IPB a bunch and it's hacky atm. Having IPB be accessible via composer would make updating IPB much easier too. It's totally fine if the packages were behind a client login, very used to this on other projects.

This will allow easy integration via services like Packagist.

Why?  IPS software isn't publicly available unless you've purchased a license.  The source code would still have to be behind a client login.

So I understand your argument, piracy will always exist, so let's make it easier for them? Did I interpret that right?

I don't think you understand how composer works, we will add a custom URL with our authorisation tokens for our projects which will fetch directly from Invision's servers directly. It's no less secure than how the current update system is implemented already, just provides another method of integration.

    There’s a plugin for this.

It would be a lot nicer if @mentions, images, and links worked in the status update block.

Administrators and moderators can often reply to locked content. It's also not uncommon for some communities to lock certain news announcements they don't want discussion on, but you may still want to allow sharing and so forth.
I guess what I'm saying is I see your point, but I don't know that a blanket change would work for all communities.

It would be very useful if we could add an age (in years) to use the Promote feature. This is handy as it would help sites that have age-restricted areas. Right now we are using Kevin's Rules application to handle this, but a built in option would be much better.

No, it should not be in IPS. It must be implemented on different level: on your server side. fail2ban is good solution for this kind of bots.

    We said it many times.
We do care about Android. Apple is insignificant on the global mobile market in terms of devices number. There are a lot of IPS customers who have more than 90% of mobile users with Android. Why should they suffer and even care about crazy Apple's politics, while these incredibly useful features work great on Android and could benefit your customers and most of their users today?

Wasting years to create separate apps from scratch instead of a couple of weeks to create PWA based on code which was developed and improved for years and almost ready for it... Does not sound "sensible".
I understand, you hope what native app could become another source of $ when it's done, and (unfortunately) this looks like the only real reason why you don't want implement PWA. Because the argument about Apple does not look significant at all, given their real share of users.

I hope you re-evaluate the amount of time it takes to develop PWA vs native applications and will finally make the right choice.
