Hey guys. Is it possible to set IP.Board 2.3.6 up on my home server so I can get some things from my Admin CP on my 2.3.6 SQL backup? I don't remember the MySQL and PHP versions 2.3.x required and am stuck.. :( All I need is just the MySQL and PHP version that 2.3 ran on as an installation on my PC to install 2.3.6, restore the backups and then get what I need from some topics and the ACP.. If anyone can help with this, the support is always highly appreciated! Thanks.

I just started using marchers wordpress bridge on my site and, xml-rpc was required to utilise this fully, on asking my hosting they said my php version would need upgrading to do this. After its been upgraded my site feels slow to respond and slugglish. I use xcache also and had modiifed php.ini and my.cnf files.. Would these need to be changed also or would they have altered? Just trying to get to the bottom of the slower than normal response from the site.. Thanks

Hi, I really need some help. My IPB installation has outgrown the shared hosting environment, to the point where even as webmaster I cringe when I use the forum because it's so slow and sluggish. Therefore, I'm thinking about moving up to VPS. 1) Do you think these specifications are appropriate? My website gets about 1000 unique visitors a month, 150K visits, 20 M hits, and 500 GB bandwidth. (My website also includes a couple of popular galleries powered by Coppermine Photo Galleries, which is why the bandwidth usage is high). My website has only been online for six months, so I project further growth. I'm thinking of 1-2GHz CPU and 1 GB RAM. 2)…

Hey all, We're fast approaching converting a large Community Server MSSQL based site over to IPB 3.4.3 and MySQL. I know a handful of you are running on Windows Servers, with IIS and MySQL on the same box and that it runs happily with large IPB installations. Therefore I'd like to understand and soak up experience for potential issues we may face running a large community this way before we flick the switch as it where..... The site we are converting has the following stats: 2 million posts 80k users 2-3000 online max 1-2 million pageviews per month Our server specs Dual quad core Xeon 5410's 16GB RAM Two HD's on separate SATA channels (OS and DB's respectively)…

Hello, I complained about the slowness on my server with my hosting provider and they told me this: "I have checked the server and could see that your MySQL is pretty busy all the time by writing/removing data in ibf_reputation_cache." Just for curiosity, I disabled the reputation system and the forum became fast again. Reputation system is that heavy or this is just a coincidence or someone is abusing the system ? Thank you

First, I used easy logo changer to upload a new logo. The new file uploaded fine, and the 'logo_img' replacement was properly set, but I couldn't get the new logo to display on the site. The original logo persists. Then, I edited the replacement macro directly, trying different settings to several files. I could not get the original file to change. Are replacements broken? Are they obsolete? This is a brand new installation and this feature seems to not work at all.

Hi All, So, several times over the past few weeks I have been hit by something, once or twice it was bots at inopportune times, other times like tonight it looked like something out of Russia. It doesn't seem to be a proper DDOS attack, but there are a lot of connections. Add that to the 700 - 800 users on the boards and I run out of PHP processes really quickly. On my current AWS EC2 instance (High Mem, XL - 33GB mem, 15 cores) I can maintain 200 connections before it goes to hell. I've played with config and hammered the server using loader.io. Tried Varnish in front of NGINX, tried going back to Apache, but I can't get beyond 200 connections. Note this…

Recently moved from shared hosting to a VPS The VPS is running lighttpd, PHP (previously 5.4.x but I just downgraded it to 5.3.3.7) and MySQL 5.5 Everything is working fine after changing the DB login details, etc.. and restoring the backup from the old server. However, when enabling/disabling/making any add-on modifications, I just get a plain white screen. I have checked the error logs, and nothing shows up. I also get the blank page when selecting recache apps. Enabling/disabling hooks is fine though. What could be causing this?

So on 3 of my servers, we had to change apache port to something else (example: 9000) So when you point to myserver1.com/directory/file.php, it comes up as Not found... And if you try myserver1.com:9000/directory/file.php it also shows not found. Would anyone have any ideas on how to get that working on a different port and still able to show the page? ports.conf editted : NameVirtualHost *:9000 Listen 9000 Sites-enabled: file editted: <VirtualHost *:9000> and server restarted... service apache2 restart (upon restart, theres no errors or anything, and restarts fine) But any file you goto, shows as not found.

Since approximately Jan 20th, we have had a number of our members getting popups for "TitanPoker.com" on our site. In researching this issue, we aren't able to replicate this problem ourselves, but see that a numbe of other IPB based sites are having the same problem. Have any of you had this issue, and if so, how did you resolve it?

explain SELECT t.tag_text, COUNT(t.tag_text) as times, t.tag_meta_app, t.tag_meta_area FROM ipb_core_tags t WHERE 1=1 AND t.tag_aai_lookup IN( SELECT p.tag_perm_aai_lookup FROM ipb_core_tags_perms p WHERE ( ( FIND_IN_SET(3,p.tag_perm_text) ) OR ( p.tag_perm_text='*' ) ) AND p.tag_perm_visible=1 ) GROUP BY t.tag_text ORDER BY times DESC LIMIT 0, 50 Hello. How do I stop this from happening in the future? It caused the load to skyrocket. I could, of course, increase tmp_table_size, but I'd like to know if there's something about optimizing IPB that I should be aware of. Am I missing some indexes?

So I've gotten to the point where I want more control over the hosting environment that some of my boards run on. There are a couple custom plugins I want to run that I can't run on a shared environment and the current hosts are idiots. So I'm consolidating by test board, dev board and 2 live boards onto one VPS. Obviously dev board and test boards won't have any user activity. There are 5 of them. Between the 2 live boards, we're only talking 20 users online at a time w/ spikes in the 60's to 70's... Only a total of like 50k posts between them both... So down to the real question... Do you think I can get away with sticking at 512M or should I just go ahe…

I have a problem while using the product Invision Power Board 3.3.4 purchased from your website, I noticed from the logs in the admin panel and in the cache folder, which, almost daily, in my dedicated server which has installed MySQL 5.1 and PHP 5.2.18 occur crashes of MYSQL, I am attaching the logs produced by your software, asking whether it can be a problem due to a lack of hardware resources or to another type of error in the script, I am attaching also the hardware specifications of the dedicated server where the script is allocated. Looking forward to your response, Sincerely, P.S: The Hosting has sent me these parameters mysql to know what i need to change t…

I upgraded and now things are running as slow as slow can be. I did the security patch also. I checked my server (VPS) and my CPU keeps spiking all the way up, close to 100%. I have tried restarting Apache & MySQL and rebooting the whole server. Neither helped. I originally posted in the IP.Board support forum, but it was suggested I post here for help. Thanks :)

Hey all. We're new to the IPS community as we will be moving our forums over to IP.Board in the coming months. I'm here looking for advice on the perfect setup for our growing community. What sort of analytics would you all like to see in order to help me build the 2013 version of our community from the ground up? Here are some simple monthly views from Google Analytics Being that we are a sports forum, we have 3 different traffic loads; Weekly, during the season we'll see high traffic on game day, tapering off throughout the week until the next gameday Playoffs will be the same traffic pattern as the in-season weekly traffic, but 2-3x larger numbers Off season w…
