I have had a Category with thousands (38 000) of topics about tents, sleeping bags and tarps. Now I like to move each and every into 3 categories. One for Tent, one for sleeping bags and one for tarps. What is the easiest way to do that?

Hi, We previously set up a Wiki for our site using MediaWiki. Unfortunately due to lack of integration with IPS it never really came to life. However the idea itself is still a good one for our community. As such, I was just wondering if it would be possible to use IPS Pages as a type of Wiki? Ideally we'd have a user group set up to restrict access to chosen contributors (who may not be tech savvy) rather than it being possible for everyone to edit it. Cheers Rich

I love the ease of the pages databases and want to purchase another license for another site but want to know if its has the capability of adding (numerically) fields from entries? For example, if I am creating a database of football players and want a separate entry for each year of their statistics, will pages allow for a "totaling" of the statistics? If a quarterback passes for 3000 yards in the year 1998 and 2000 yards in 1999 and 1500 yards in the year 2000, is there a way to have the total of 6500 yards appear on the records listing page via pages functionality? I hope this makes sense. Thank you for any assistance.

Full disclosure I am newer to the IPS platform, still trying to get some kinks worked out. I have a concern as I have a forum category limited by only allowing topic creators to see the contents of each post. The purpose of this area is to allow each member to introduce themselves and share personal details. My concern is any attachments upload go into the default upload directory without any more then a randomized 32 char filename encryption. Whats mores-so daunting anyone can have access to "sniff" folder without being logged in (via entering the file URL in a new browser with no cookies / not logged in). So I am making a pages database that will handle ban appeals from my game severs. I want to be able to have the user input their player name and have the title of the record generated so it appears in the database as "Ban Appeal by player name", so they dont have to type a separate title with each report. How can i do this? I suspect it has something to do with the topic format option but not really sure what to put into that as i have tried several variations now.

Does anyone have experience on this topic here. I have quite a number of subscribers in my forum which payed with PayPal on a monthly basis. Some of them have choosen the automatic renewal by PayPal. We have a rather silly system here in the UK for our shipping rates. As you might expect, they're banded by weight. As the package weighs more, the price you pay to ship it increases. That side of things is fine. However, we have a complicating factor: if your product exceeds certain physical dimensions, then you have to start from a different band. Large Letter in this diagram applies only to packages which don't exceed a certain physical size. If they do, then they're not Large Letters but Small Parcels, even if they don't weigh very much. hello. i wish to change the timeout of my admin panel to about 12 hours. i have change the session.gc-maxlifetime to 43200 in the php.ini. but when i open a new tab to open a new session of the admin panel, i need to log in again. i have also disabeld the ip chack so when i go from wifi to 4G it will not disconect me. just left with the open a new window of the admin pannel, and if im currect the only way is to save the log in in the cookies. thank you.

When someone pays for subscription through PayPal and forget to return back to your community, there is a problem left for admin. That system doesn't recognize the payment unless admin go to back-end and mark invoice as paid. It is indeed very irritating and inconvenient that why can't IPB automatically redirect from PayPal page to recognize the payment. Many sellers are doing that just fine (etoro). Due to this Mark as paid now few of our users getting the unwanted invoices generated. This guy renewed his monthly Active membership on Feb 23. Then he upgrade from monthly (Full Access) to Annual (Off-road) and that's where he forgot to return back …

I am completely new here. Is it possible what I try to achieve? This is for roughly 2.000 members who are well known and trusted. So, I do not need spam control, reporting, and no complex moderation. I use posts, clubs, and events (no forum). I want to completely separate public and internal views/content. I never want a guest (user who is not logged-in) to see any member details and no activity stream at all. Ideally, public users should only see public blog posts and public events. It seems there is some internal queue or cron that pushes our picks every few minutes, but I like to disable that and make it publish instantly as we need to tweak the image and content length while publishing. Hope its possible. Second, is there any way to truncate fixed length of content to 500 words or 5 lines etc.....? Third, how to add our pick content on notification emails?

I might have disabled this myself, but I don't remember where. For example, if I post a link here to another thread, a part of this thread on the same forum/board becomes visible like this: It automatically embeds with a nice little block with a bit of text of the thread. However on other forum software I've seen this also working for external links. On Invision, external links appear as a single url line. As said, could be I disabled this, but is it possible to get such nice box for external links too? And if yes, where can I enable this? P.s. the editor bug is back. Editor content is not cleared anymore, not on my own forum, and not here…

Hello, I'm new on IPS, and Ihave some questions about the billing, so sorry in advance if the answers are already availble on the forum, but I couldn't find them: I opted for the self hosted license, and payed using paypal. I'm not interesed in renewing the support after 6 months, and I didn't find any option on the client area nor on paypal for disableing the automatic renewal. does it mean that I will be charged after 6 months anyway ? If not, and the renewal is not activated, I understand that I won't have any further access to the support, but : Can I keep using IPS after the 6 moths delay? or the license will be expired and the forum locked ? …
