Could I please strongly request that the next release of IPBoard has a method of managing the size of images attached to posts. Personally I would prefer resize during upload as this would preserve disk space on the forums server. Simple ACP settings of max. dimensions and compression ratio should be sufficient. Please ... can we have this. Thanks, Shaun :D

I'm not sure if this is a bug, an omitted feature in 3 or just me being stupid but the ajax edit topic description doesn't seem to work when listing topics. There also doesn't seem to be a way of editing it from within the topic itself. Am I missing a fundamental change with IPB3?

Ive seen a reply saying IP-chat wont be a money maker of some kind nor will it be downloadable. Id just like some more information on why its not being released as an official product of IPB. Im currently on the free chat room and im thinking of upgrading as my room kinder gets full with 5 users and them 5 users love the chat room. So if i was to upgrade would i get the problems currently going on?

should invision have one browser that is used as a benchmark ? as in that everything works in it i guess ie8 would be a prime candidate I don't use ie8 usually, but many do and have read that this number is actually increasing the last two releases of invision both saw obvious errors with ie8 that was surprised were not picked up during pre-release testing and some as far as aware are in the tracker system a month later after intial reporting fully understand all the arguments for other browsers and all that but would it not make sense to aim for 100% in at least one ?

Is it something you will plan to fix in I future upgrade? We find it makes the Forum very difficult to use for the technologically challenged user. We get many, many complaints from the people using our forum that it is complicated, frustrating and difficult to use. I think it is important for you to listen to this feedback and take into account that constantly adding features is not necessarily better than making a platform that is easy to use, no matter how un-skilled people are. Our forum needs to be simple to use for everyone, or we spend countless hours talking people through complicated procedures (like putting an image into their signature as the image has to …

Why not move "search titles only" to the drop down at the bottom? If I click on "Search titles only" check box, the dropdown still shows the default of "topic titles and posts". It can be a little confusing to some members. Either add 3 radio buttons for the 3 options or include them all in the dropdown. I prefer the former. Edit: better to change to "Search topic titles only" for consistency.

I think it would be good to have an option to froce post quoting to leave the quoted post in tact. That way people can't manipulate it to look like someone said something he didn't. Only for quote types which list a nameas being from. It's good to be able to manipulate it by emphacizing words, but I'm not so sure that convenience is worth the ease of manipulation left behind.

The signature should not be shown in every single post. It wasn't like this with 2.3 and prior versions, what's the reasoning behind this? :huh: Also, what happened to the scrollbars when a post is too long? I don't like having all of it shown.

I currently don't allow people to upload an avatar, I want them to use gravatar instead. I don't want people to input their own url to an avatar outside of gravatar, but I can't disable that option without disabling gravatar as well. Also, gravatars have ratings so why can't we deny gravatars of a certain rating?

Personal photo MEANS personal photo. Unfortunately lot of members realy don't understand what is it. On my board I see that lot of members instead of their personal photos put there some gibberish. Why those things they don't upload as avatars? In Personal photo section I added this attention in bold: It is only allowed to add their own photos if the photos will be something else, moderators have the right to delete such a photos. But they ignore it! So we need this feature in ACP: Personal photo: Admin validation: YES/NO Only that we can avoid to adding similar crap. Thanks in advance.

One of the reasons why IRC is so widespread is because the protocol is open - anyone can create a client on any platform. Right now, most of my members are lamenting that they have to keep a browser open to stay in chat. Why not have some (basic) features open via an API/protocol, so people can create an external client for IP.Chat? Most people want to be able to chat on their phones, without a browser (on windows), etc. Whilst the main problem here is most of our loyal members don't like to chat in a browser, this also creates developer opportunities like bots, etc.

1) When you try to ignore a user there should be options to block them from commenting on your profile and replying to your status updates. 2) My forum uses user then admin validation. Problem is that when a user changes their email then they must revaldate and then after revalidating via email they must be readmin validated which is very inconvenient so an option to remove this would be nice. 3) Ive seen a lot of complaints about furls flying around recently (actually I think all of them are from the same person :P ). I do agree with the issue they're bringing up and feel it should be fixed. Thanks. (:

Hi Invision, I am an active IP Board customer since a few years, and i'm dealing with a large online community. IP Board is without any doubt the greatest board on the market, with so many options, and it is so smart. However, with a large community, I have to deal with many inappropriate posts and insulting members. The users of our forum are contantly asking us for a better feedback system, so that they can leave feedback (not just stars) for other members of the forum. Is there an upgrade coming for this? They would really like something a bit like e-bay, a limited number of characters (approx 80 to 100) & a feedback scoring system to rate members, not their posts. thanks Traci WWOOF Australia wwoof.com.au

I bought that (argh!!!) app and decided not to renew 'cause I really don't like it! And thanks to IPS license politics I can't throw it away, sell or give it to someone else! Ok, I won't use it anyway! But I can't download it anymore ?!? I don't care if IP.Content is on version 10000000000000000! I don't want support for it! I want to download the version that was the newest when I chose not to renew it! It's my right, since I bought it! What now ?!? IPS steal licenses from those who doesn't renew them ? Not a big fan of the fact when a topic is locked it has a generic icon. Reason for this is that i lose the ability to quickly recognise whether i've replied in that topic as the little extra tab on the icon isn't on the closed icon. Would be nice if something like this could be added, even if its closed i might want to see why if its one of my topics.

I've seen it come up in a topic again and its reminded me to post this. I've thought for a while it would be best to separate the current 'Can view member profiles and member list?' into two settings: 'Can view member list?' and 'Can view member profiles' , As some administrators may prefer to not allow certain groups to do one or the other, but would rather not restrict both at once. I do not think it would take that much to do this, although I could be wrong :) , for upgrades it would be easy to default both (new) settings to match whatever was chosen already for each group.
