I posted this in Modifications Requests but it may be more fitted here. (http://community.inv...strtion-system/) sorry for the double post I would really really like to have a simple event registration system added to the calendar. - admin creates an event in the calendar - admin tags the event as registrable - members can register to event by clicking a register for event button on the calendar event - admins can pull a list of members names/emails who registered for event (text or csv/xcel). Only admins can see who is registered/number Future versions could include a simple Paypal link where paypal email is needed and price of event. I am thinking about the …

A lot of projects have bug/feature/issue trackers. Why doesn't IPB have one? At the moment I've no way to keep track of features that are requested.

Allow members to view detailed reputation in their profile. An icon near the reputation bar would work. Should follow the usergroup permission "Can view who gave reputation?" of course, but should show a list of posts with the points, and who gave them, if allowed. Similar to what is in admincp, but for members. Thanks

I'd like the option to have a "Show Topic Post in Lightbox" for the list of topics in a forum view. This would be similar to the Topic Hovercards but would be wider and centered in the current browser viewport and the topic post would be shown in its entirety and properly formatted (rather than being raw text truncated at some max length). This lightbox would be similar to the Photo thumbnail lightbox and use AJAX to fetch and format the post. In addition to having some icon to click on in the forum view, there should be a BBCode for referencing a post (topic or reply) to be used by members in creating links to posts in their posts. This would allow the reader to no…

I posted it here because this isn't specific to 3.1 beta and it's likely not going to be something added before 3.1's final release, but could future versions let you customise your profile a bit more? Background colour and image are nice and all, but I think we should be able to edit all the possible colours and backgrounds, like how vBulletin 3.7/3.8 did so. Bit more like Myspace and such like, less like merely Twitter.

This site is using a nulled copy of your IPB software. They were previously caught using a nulled copies of your script and vBulletin script. They have gone back to nulled IPB as the copyright link at the bottom doesn't redirect to this site and also it says nulled. Here is the link: [...]

I was able to add a status update as an Admin before but now that ability is gone. There is an option "Prevent Status Updates" in profile setting. I checked it as "No" but it's still not working. Can anyone help?

I didn't even know these items existed until I saw there was an issue with the last version of it missing some of the laungage info. I have these links on the user drop down menu and the settings menu on my test site, but none of the live boards all running the same version have it for some reason? Are there some settings to enable these to show up that i'm missing? I also noticed that this site doesn't have them either, so I'm sure it's a setting somewhere? any ideas?

Hi, Whilst I am looking forward to 3.2, I have a few concerns/questions the way the product is going. IP.Subscriptions - Sorry to see this free app go and be replaced by a paid app @ $75 & $70 a year. If all a site wants is subscriptions buying Nexus is an expensive option, even if Nexus is great and offers so much more. We have moved on from Subscriptions, but it is a very useful app for sites just starting out to earn money from their sites and then be able to afford to upgrade to Nexus. Will the ability to show adverts in IP.Board remain as this is also within Nexus? IP.Portal - a very useful and simple app to go and again being replaced by an app costing

Can IPB please NOT modify the Subject for Replies on emails doing so makes it impossible to see the notifications via email threaded. ad each responder's name modifies the subject only their posts are threaded. I had made a post about this before and linked to a few other resources about email threading. http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/327962-email-notification-threading/page__view__findpost__p__2057060

Hey guys, I've seen the feature for allowing users to save topics as drafts which can be managed in their UCP on a couple of other pieces of forum software, and I have personally been very interested in this feature. There are a few occasions I'd like to save a topic on-site so I can finish writing from another computer (or my iPod :P) but haven't been able to for lack of this or other transfer devices. Email works... but... really? I'm sure there has to be some interest in this, is there any word on it appearing in an IP.Board release or application or hook? Thanks a ton!

I think i have requested this before (may be), do not remember,I would like to bring it up again... I would like to see more clean up actions in ACP When you edit a member in ACP there is a tab on upper right hand corner, it says (ACTIONS) I would like to see two more option over that on the drop down list 1. Delete All Member's Comments on Profile pages 2. Delete All Member's Status updates and replies Just a screen shot... :) Thanks

i highly recomend that you change the '______ has started a personal conversation with you' message to better reflect exactly whats going on. Its kind of lame to get a message about getting a message. If somebody adds me as a friend, dont tell me about it with a message, tell me about it with a notification that says "_____ as added you as a friend" dont send me a message teling me that, thats dumb. The same goes for everything else, it always just says youve got a personal converation with somebody and its always just that somebody has written on my profile or added me as a firned, those arent "personal conversations" those are notification of events.

I find that very few members know how to change a skin, yet they get pretty good at playing with settings in their profile. That would be a good place to put the skin selector.

Glad you are working on the calendar. The RSVP and hCal stuff are particularly exciting. Here are some more features to consider: An "upload an attachment" option to calendar event posts recurring days of the week An auto-post-to-calendar feature for board topics (and tracker topics! ;)) to "Make this Topic an Event or Deadline" post option in would be great Any chance of that any of these will be in 3.2?

I'd like to be able to embed fully functioning forms in my admin topics. I can currently do most of this by just allowing the admin to post in HTML. But, I don't know how to easily reference variables (like we can in the skin templates). Seems to me that IPB could support the admin including a skin template in a post similar to the "parse template" support in the skinning system. Better yet, maybe just support posting in the "skin template" syntax in addition to BBCode and HTML. Anyway, I'm open to ideas of how to embed forms that work in the context of the current logged in user (so can reference hash key, member's display name, etc.). This feature could be res…

Just imagine we have a forum with many large images posted in topics. We have some new posts in the topic and we are clicking on the get last post link. Browser loads the page with anchor (#msg_id) and focuses on this anchor. What will happen if we have many images before this post? They are going to load and the focus starts to move quickly because there are no width and height set in the posted images. If there are 10 or more images loaded before last unread post we are totally loosing the post we need, it moved somewhere down and we must find it manually. But IP.Board does not help us to do it. Some other forum software highlights unread posts: vBulletin phpB…

I'm currently in the process of moving my forum from vB 3.8 to IPB 3.1 and I noticed something that is a potential problem for me. In vB 3.8 you can choose a setting so that the database stores the data which specific post in a topic has already been read. If a page has 8 new pages of posts and you only read the first page, the topic remains unread and when you return to the first page of that topic, you see a link which then takes you to the first unread post in that topic. In IPB 3.1 things work a little different. If you read the first page of a topic, the whole topic is marked as read even if you have not read the other pages of the topic. Is there a setting that…

I know there are 2 ways in which the IP address can be stored at present in IP.Board. One of them is the actual IP being used to connect to the forum and the other comes from the header? (or something like that), which can be used to try and work out where someone is if they are behind a proxy. So... my question is .. Is there a reason that both cannot be stored? This way we can use the correct one most of the time and only check the other when its needed.

Hey everyone, So being new here, and having used CMS's before and developed websites etc, i've been thinking of ways to improve IPB/S. 1. http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/331482-ipcontent-mainpage/ This seems to be a fairly widespread complaint, so i suggest definitely looking at implementing this in your next update :) 2. Date and time of post 3. An edit button to stay on all posts a user has created (i'm unsure if this is a local problem limited to just this board or not as i'm waiting for my board to get installed) That's all until i play properly with the software once its installed :)

One feature we want to add in a future version of IP.Chat is the ability for a moderated chat. The example is something like you are a fan site, say music related, and a member of the band your site is about is going to come and do a guest chat session. You would want to moderate that chat so it's not a complete, confusing mess. There are many ways to implement such a system. What are your ideas? Mockups, feature lists, implementation ideas are all welcome. We have our own ideas but want to see what everyone here thinks since it can be done in many different ways. Thanks!
