This is specific legacy issue, exists since we can use login and display names. Not bug, but not good too. 1. Enable display names, so user can fill his login and display name (different, what is important - so login name will be LoginName and display name will be DisplayName) 2. Disable display names 3. Now you can search in ACP his display name, you'll find DisplayName 4. Edit Members 5. There is not possibility change his display name, we see only login name (so LoginName) 6. Can we get a new category for people to share custom BB Code that may be useful for other communities? It could be useful to share with other customers who can not sort out how to add their own. :smile: Import/Export functionality already exists in the Admin CP, so it would not require any extra coding to implement in the software itself.

I need this and apparently I've heard that others have been asking for this for years, where someone can duplicate forums and settings/permissions within them. The most time consuming portion of setting up a board is setting the permissions/settings areas. Since I have MANY Categories / Forums that will be similar to each other with the only difference being a location or a field, it may take way too much time just to set these things up, especially when I think the majority of forums in anyone's board will have the same settings/permissions with just a few that may be different. Hi, There is a chance in future release to implement a link for every comment in calendar and downloads like in posts from topics? If we want to point a content to a comment we dont have a link doing that like for posts. Thank you!

One of the things I like about VB, is that if a member or staff deletes or edits a thread/post, a copy or history of the thread/post is archived. This "soft" delete allows the history of the thread or post to be reviewed by staff for anything incriminating. It can then be decided to restore the original thread/post or hard delete the thread/post. Each time a member deletes or edits a thread/post, it keeps a history of each before the edit to review or restore the original content. Deleted posts are never truly deleted, only soft deleted so they can be restored later if needed. Staff can choose whether to hard delete a thread/post. I hope I have explained this clear enou…

How do you restrict a forums posts from showing up in the hook 'Recent Topics Added'. I have a few RSS forums, with posts that I do not want to show on the side, but I do not know how to hide them from the hook :(.

It does not look right to have the rate topic stars before the title or the calendar event or post in terms of usability. Just looking at this very topic you can see the rate topic...is there any usability reason why this is placed before the title?

I am a big fan of IP products and a supporter, but this time I have to raise my voice to be heard as a customer. With Gallery 3.2 we are facing a bug which is preventing our contributors to be uploading their photos. The reason is that the Gallery 3.2 isn't able to crop vertical images to thumbnails, instead it scales them down to a thumbnail and fills the sides of the photo by black background. This bug is not acceptable from the visual aspect of our presentations. Hello, My name is Ran & I'm a Developer. I have a very large forum with over 3 million posts. (Link) Currently I'm using IPB version 2.3 but I'm planned to upgrade to 3.1. I've been reading through the posts at and a lot of it struck a chord. The plus points. I upgraded to 3.2 (an incremental version upgrade) because I needed VNC search to work, it had been broken for too long and I had to rely on mods for my users to find content. The minus points. I've recently discovered that another IPS Customer is violating IPS' license agreement by distributing "nulled" versions of the IPS software through his warez site and the evidence I have is too strong to refute. However, I tried sending a PM to Michael, the Moderator of the marketplace, and he's not accepting PM messages. If a license holder discovers such evidence, how does one go about reporting this violation since it involves a current license holder. Well... I feel so silly I need to post this in a feedback forum because developers think it's not a bug. This reminds me recent Mozilla bug report where Asa Dotzler suggested to drop version in about dialog, but this is a reverse case. It's already done in 3.2.x. Basically the problem is this: When you enter a thread and would like to search in this thread (the upper right search box), results are displayed as topic. Well, exactly one topic, this topic. I think it'd be great if members could see from a user's profile their incoming and outgoing likes. When clicking on a new message in the drop down in the messenger it seems to be taking me too the first page of the message when I think it should be taking me too the last page so I can atleast scroll down to the message? Beginning to be a pain to have to keep clicking the right arrow icon to take me to the last page to view the new message?

I'm just curious how long a mod has to be unsupported before action is taken by the resource staff. I know of one particular mod that seldom gets any attention at all from the author even when he's here on the board. As if that's not bad enough, his customers have to chase him down to activate the mod they purchased. So when he's not responding to people, that results in weeks of non-usage for a mod that has been bought and paid for, which is quite poor practice. So... did I just purchase a forum that doesn't allow you to set up some pre-installed avatars? I see this was an option in older versions of IPB but is it true that the option no longer exists? I don't care if they can't have an avatar link to some off-site picture. But I would like users to quickly be able to choose from a list of pre-installed avatars/photos to help make the forum look less bland. This is a basic feature of almost all forum software. Think of it this way.. it can take a long time for a lazy forum member to find/make an avatar for themselves. Our members would love to have a way to integrate video into IP.Chat. We have a member that does her own "internet radio" show on stickam, and we'd like to run our own weekly show directly on the board. It would be awesome if we could use IP.Chat to do this. No doubt it'd cost more than simple chat, but I'm open to pricing options from the staff to see what's possible.
