As most everyone is posting support requests via forums it would be nice if there was a visual indicator that a posting is related to a self-hosted install or an online hosting install or both. This could minimize the amount of follow up posts required to narrow down exactly what the problem is and on which platform it is occurring, especially if a fellow member is offering up some help. A problem and solution on the self-hosted platform might not necessarily be appropriate for the IPS hosted version and vice versa.

I'm creating this request after being directed here from the following ticket: My site is using clubs, and each club has their own blog. These blogs are fed via RSS feed, however are not able to be updated automatically. Instead I've been having to resubmit the form every day. This majorly prohibits me from scaling up to the 400+ clubs I would like to have created. Thank you!

Automatically resize / optimize images served to the client to improve page speed. Convert images / gifs to most efficient format. This should be a core feature if it's not already. Nginx offers a module called "image_filter" which would accomplish this, but having it added as a core feature if IPB would be much easier!

Hi. Location-based advertisement distribution (also known as geotargeted or geotagged advertising). We are planning to run an international site financed by affiliate ads. Due to the lack of location-based ad distribution (e.g. ads relevant in the US shown in the US only, ditto South African in South Africa etc.), we either have to: - Promote just brands with full global coverage (limiting), or - Promote regional brands that are irrelevant to a significant number of visitors (dead ad space) It would be great to be able to define a location-based distribution of the ads to greatly improve ad efficiency. Cheers, /Joachim

Hello ! Today, I wanted to delete very old members belonging to a specific group and who had no content at all. So I made a search and it returned 6 pages : Then, I saw that there was no checkbox to deleted all members in one click... So I told myself I had to delete each member at a time... I tried deleting one member and I got this : What I think about this option : Anyway, I went ahead and, after deleting the member, I saw that I was back to... the members' page. Moreover, I had to do the whole process again... So is there another and fast way to remove these members ? Same question for validating membe…

There should be better possibilities to retrieve certain data within an RSS feed for Pages. Yes, there's now the possibility to generate custom RSS feeds, but it still lacks lots of options as its an extremely basic filter. What it currently generates:

Topic_Title

Actual text content

There's currently no possbili…

Usually we want to add a link to our Menu to a specific Database Category and we have to create the item as an external link that doesn't show as active when you are in this category. I'd like to have this option.

Display a preview of posted links, similar to the way an IPS page embeds more details than just the link.

can you add quick access buttons without having to go through "see their activity" such as: see his files see his posts see his posts

Moved from Developer forum: Due to the requirements of the regulatory authorities , it became necessary: 1. change the text displayed on the cookies banner. Where can I correct this text? (SOLVED) 2. Record in the logs clicking on the "Agree" button on the cookies banner. Is it being written to the log now and where can this log be viewed? 3. On mobile, the cookie banner disappears quickly when scrolling and does not appear anymore. Please fix it urgently. 4. is it possible to make it so that in order to view the content of the site it was necessary to click on consent to cookies? Now this is not necessary, and it is possible that a per…

The Pages database relationship field is great for collecting more complex data that doesn’t fit in simple lists. But the field is not very user-friendly. First of all, it would be great to bring back more input options as in 3.4. At the moment, we only have the “type-ahead” input. But that means users need to know what record they want to link to upfront and they need to learn that they have to start typing to find it. For the majority of databases (which don’t have thousands of entries) a drop-down menu would be a better choice. It would clearly tell the users their choices without any guesswork about the entries or how to get to them. But my main problem is…

It would be really helpful if all images uploaded to the site (whatever the starting format) were converted to jpeg or webp for the thumbnails. Being both compressed formats they would allow faster loading and greater space optimization. In my case I have a gallery full of PNG images in high resolution and obviously the thumbnails being in the same format even if at a lower resolution require a high loading time.

As disscussed on this topic Can the custom denied permission message be changed in that if a member tries to upload to an album they do not have permission to do so then you can use the custom permission denied message to explain why As an example I only allow subscribers to upload to my gallery and I would like to have the ability to show the "upload image" button but when they select an album or try to create an album they then get the custom message explaining they need to subscribe and a link to the options they have for subscribing

Hi, The platform allows the user to change their username by themselves. Howerver, mentions in posts, reviews, private messages, etcetera are kept with their old name. This is a problem for privacy. A very common reason people are changing their username is to change their account from their real name to a nickname. However, all mentions are kept with their old (real) name, allowing them to be identified. Due to recent privacy laws in our country (LGPD), we need to be able to fix this more easily. Wehenever a user complains about that, we run a couple of mysql queries to manually fix the issue, but it would be great that, whenever a user changes their …

It would be nice to be able to assign a start and end date for a commerce listing. We have a convention coming up and I’d like certain products to show up just at the beginning of the convention and magically disappear at the end of it. I’m sure there are many other uses to a start / stop date. I know I can put the stock at 0 until the date, but with multiple products, that is not a very practical solution. Anyone else agree with the feature?

Hi. Please add a way to efficiently import a list of words and their explanations using e.g. an XML file. Like what is existing today for Word Filtering. Cheers, /Joachim

This misalignment of the blocks is described by the IPB support as "Currently intended, not a bug." Every customer that has other intentions has to do "customization of their theme". I am sure that this design has served the communities well in the past but proposes an intended alignment of the blocks to cope with the design trends of tomorrow. Cheers, /Joachim

The only option when a package expires seems to be to move the user to their previous group when a package expires. That's great - except that the "previous group" on a new purchase is...the first group they joined. Why can't we designate a group to move a user to once their package expires (i.e. Guest, former member, etc.) instead having to only default to the previous group? Again, this is to automate the system better and save admin time moving people in and out of groups. It also seems like super simple coding since that code already existings in multiple places. The system already checks for expiry dates and moves the user somewhere - just let the admin deci…

As I was confronted with some 'sudden' performance issues while posting message in a topic with 10+ followers, it turned out Invision Community forums is sending topic e-mail notifications instant. A 'slow' mailserver can then significantly delay the posts being made to such a topic: Please make the e-mail a background task as this seems bad practice. The speed of a post should not be relying on the speed of a smtp mailserver (which is quit speedy, but apparently not speedy enough for Invision community 😉

Passing this from our moderation team: It appears that when a user has been banned, the forum will no longer allow @-pinging them. It's a minor inconvenience for our moderator team (because they have frequent need to refer to them in reports and things). Of more concern, however, is that it publicly exposes a user's discipline status. When we apply any sort of discipline to a user (queueing, banning, even spam flagging), it is important that nobody but the affected user can tell that anything has happened. By design, when we ban user X, other users can't see that X is banned. However, the fact that a banned user can't be pinged anymore means that a reg…

Hello, I'd like to automatically give a badge and some points to everyone that donates from my community. Currently I'm having to do all this manually. Would massively appreciate the rule system supporting this, especially seeing as it already does for subscriptions and products. If we can have filtering for total amount contributed, even better. Thanks for reading!
