This misalignment of the blocks is described by the IPB support as "Currently intended, not a bug." Every customer that has other intentions has to do "customization of their theme". I am sure that this design has served the communities well in the past but proposes an intended alignment of the blocks to cope with the design trends of tomorrow. Cheers, /Joachim

The only option when a package expires seems to be to move the user to their previous group when a package expires. That's great - except that the "previous group" on a new purchase is...the first group they joined. Why can't we designate a group to move a user to once their package expires (i.e. Guest, former member, etc.) instead having to only default to the previous group? Again, this is to automate the system better and save admin time moving people in and out of groups. It also seems like super simple coding since that code already existings in multiple places. The system already checks for expiry dates and moves the user somewhere - just let the admin deci…

As I was confronted with some 'sudden' performance issues while posting message in a topic with 10+ followers, it turned out Invision Community forums is sending topic e-mail notifications instant. A 'slow' mailserver can then significantly delay the posts being made to such a topic: Please make the e-mail a background task as this seems bad practice. The speed of a post should not be relying on the speed of a smtp mailserver (which is quit speedy, but apparently not speedy enough for Invision community 😉

If blog entries don't have a feature photo how can we just use the Blog's cover photo?

Passing this from our moderation team: It appears that when a user has been banned, the forum will no longer allow @-pinging them. It's a minor inconvenience for our moderator team (because they have frequent need to refer to them in reports and things). Of more concern, however, is that it publicly exposes a user's discipline status. When we apply any sort of discipline to a user (queueing, banning, even spam flagging), it is important that nobody but the affected user can tell that anything has happened. By design, when we ban user X, other users can't see that X is banned. However, the fact that a banned user can't be pinged anymore means that a reg…

Hello, I'd like to automatically give a badge and some points to everyone that donates from my community. Currently I'm having to do all this manually. Would massively appreciate the rule system supporting this, especially seeing as it already does for subscriptions and products. If we can have filtering for total amount contributed, even better. Thanks for reading!

On mobile, when you are viewing a thread and you click on the search tool, you're redirected to the search page rather than have a search input embedded on the same topic as it does for the desktop version, this results on the "This topic" search option not displaying on mobile, it would be nice to somehow have that.

I suggest to automatically close topics after the best answer is chosen, and not updated for a specified period

Hi, Great feature the Mail error log. However, we only know that something went wrong. Could we get a little more information? Such as the returned error? I'd like to know if it is because the inbox is full, because the account does no longer exist, because it's been rejected by some SPAM issue... Cheers, Ibai

A large part of being able to manage a relatively busy Board is self policing by the Membership. When a Member clicks Report Post on problem Content they can either enter a Message or not. Regardless. I typically like to address their Reporting with a Thank You or a return Message. As is there is no automatic Messaging feature built into the Report Post function for the Member who reposts a Post, but you can click the offending Members name and access a Message function in drop down. As is you need to go to the Reporting Members Profile to Message or go to the Message function, type in their name etc. Being able to quickly Message the Offending Member and the Reporting M…

I run a large site, so I have a lot of legitimate members and receive a fairly significant number of spammers. I turned it off (but continued to collect members' spam scores) several months ago, due to the volume of requests by legitimate people who were being caught by the spam filter. I've run some statistics based on registrations over the past month, comparing whether they have been flagged as spammer (which is very closely correlated with whether they were actually a spammer (this may not be true - see my post later in the topic)) and the code that the IPS spam service gave. The results are: +-------+------+----------+ | FASed | code | count | +-------+------+…

So I loved the Approval Queue, still mostly do. But as things get more active on my site the approval queue starts to get a little (lets face it a lot) unruly when you can only check on items 1 item at a time. When you have 50 items to check you're going to be sitting there for a while. Plus, if you need to get input/feedback from other staff members about potential things the queue (this will be especially important with the new Per Topic Post Approval feature). My favorite part about it is that it does show the content (for the most part, some sections like gallery I think only show a link still but I'll be real I don't remember specifically). Now for the fine…

Hi there! It's strange for me to write it here, because it's not about a new feature, but about a bug... Inside product settings->store settings I can choose available payment methods. And you wrote as description of this setting: "Customers will only be able to pay for this product and renewals with the payment methods selected" But when I'm choosing only a manual payment method for a product, on renewal date those who has a card on file (stripe) are billed through stripe! So, stripe should not be available for this product, because my choice is ONLY manual payment, and users are not giving their permission to be billed through stripe for this…

We are using an external user database via OAuth2 and our existing user management has a feature to merge accounts. The same functionality exists in the ACP but we'd like to have it handled in one place. Checking the IPB source code, user merge seems pretty straight forward but I'm missing an API endpoint to do that. Would it possible to add one to the core? Or if not, how would we go about extending the REST API ourselves? Are there any resources on how to do that?

Hi Guys, I actually don't mind the new "Upgrade to Cloud" link in the AdminCP. It's something I would love to do. The advantages seem really nice. However, the decision to upgrade or not would be ultra simple if there was a place in AdminCP that showed something like, "If you upgrade to the cloud plan, based on your current site stats and disk usage, the right plan would be ABC." This would put the information I need, right in front of me. Even if you couldn't assess disk usage, the other stats aligned with cloud plans would be really nice. Yes, all of the info is probably there for me to find, but when in doubt, with a million other things going on in life, I…

Cache sync
by Adlago- 0 replies

The cache status of a site depends on the options created by IPS. But it also depends on the tasks of the cache server. In many cases, an nginx server is used as a cache server, and the usual caching time for that server is 15 minutes. Question - you from IPS development - do you have an idea to synchronize the cache - so that the presentation of the cache is in the rhythm of time ... ie. when the server makes a recache, automatically follow with a recache header, footer, sidebar, etc. thanks🙂

It seems you made a recent update to this site. The index is rebuilding, and it was briefly unavailable a short time ago. You posted a message letting users know the site was not available, but also implied we could contact you if needed. I assume this is the same message we have on our sites during updates. How exactly do we contact you? I'm not suggesting we need to, but the message is a bit misleading.

Hey there, I'd like to start a feature request. I usually set up nofollow in my community as I don't want encourage my users to add links. However, I sometimes need to add "follow" to certain links. I'd like to have a set up for groups/members that may post with "follow". When they edit or post new content with links, they would not have "nofollow". What's your view for this?

Hi there, When we share forum/categories in social media, it always loads the default community image. I'd like to be able to set a custom image for social media. I think it is almost done, though it should be improved. For instance, we can set a card for each forum to show in the grid view: But it's not loaded in the opengraph as you can see here: Any chance to add it to open graph? Thanks!

Invision Cloud is quite nice and I find it enjoyable for my communities. I also don't find the pricing that bad as the starter plan with fairly close to a full license key renewal fee anyway. However, the current Cloud packages are all focused on the full suite and this seems like a bit of a missed opportunity as while it makes sense for sites using the majority of the features, it does not exactly hit the needs of many smaller projects. Invision's Page application has always been underrated in my book as it is a great CMS tool and easily a full featured website builder that can compete with basically everything on the market in some regards. The problem is that …

I remember people asking for Discord and other profiles years ago. But there has never been an update on social profiles from what i can remember. So rather than us relying on you guys to finally keep up with time, my suggestion would be that you allow us to create custom ones ourselfs. That way every user will be satisfied, because it's up to us to add whatever the heck we want. There are so many social platforms out there, but IPB doesn't cover the slightest fraction. Some major ones: Discord Wikipedia Twitch Vimeo Crunchyroll Soundcloud WhatsApp Skype Teams Viber TikTok SnapChat Quora Reddit Myspace Telegram …

We need to be able to search our Members page for expiry dates. I'm surprised, as much as IPB relies on this value for Commerce and subscriptions that there's no real way to do this in the member page. Seems like we should be able to do an expiry filter with a from - to date option similar to Joined or Last Activity.
