On my website, IPB community is on subdomain, and I'm using it's session system to display info about notifications, avatar, username (and to get user id). I've recently noticed, that when user would visit forum before logging in, on login, they're redirected to: FORUM.DOMAIN.COM?app=core&module=system&controller=serviceworker&v=[a-z0-9]+&type=front&loggedIn=false After 5 hours of debugging (as I recently didn't known what service worker is...) I tried to message a member and received an error: {member} cannot receive messages. I'm assuming that member disabled their messenger, which I thought would prevent members from messaging them but not admins/mods, however I found I cannot message them either. Is there an override for this? Where can I verify they have disabled their messenger without logging into their account?

Hello Everybody, cause of an error during upgrade i had to backup my forum folder in forum-old folder, as a result now i have the attachments not available in my board (empty files). If i try to move the original upload folder in the new forum folder i don't have any appreciable result. Any idea? Tks

Hello, I've been in the process of adapting a custom theme for the latest InvisionCommunity 4.7.6. and PHP 8. It worked well with 4.7.2 and PHP 7.4, Since I hav disabled some incompatible plugins and updated a few custom blocks, it started working with the upgrade - but *only* in designer mode. Without theme designer mode I just see a blank page and no errors in the system log, the error log or my php error log. Some subpages also work without designer mode, but my start page and a few others do not. I've synced my theme changes when disabling designer mode, cleared caches and made sure my php settings are working by temporarily adding error_log("Test") to inde…

Hi there. I've used IP Board for 5 years and with the update to 4.7.5 my users started to get an automated follow up email titled "Did this answer your question?". That's on top of the "regular" email that is being sent out when someone has answered in a thread. I want to turn that "Did this answer your question?"-email off as it is counter productive to the way I run the forums. How can I turn it off? Any ideas? /Greg

Hi there, First off I will say I have left the update for a loooong time as I always have issues with things not working after, plugins, themes etc I've updated to PHP 8.1 and thought ok let's get this update cracking. Update says I need to run two database queries which I attempted before proceeding. Attempted as the tables don't seem to exist. The automatic fix didn't work. Now I can't login to my admin and my site is down. Logging into my server via WHM I see the load averages are extremely high. I've tried rebooting, killing the high load processes which seem to be the home page loading. I just can't get the load averages down low enough to access …

50KB can by-passed by upload pic or gif in gallery and then using option, set image as photo in profile. So someone uploads 10MB pic in gallery and now their profile pic size is 10MB. Next thing what happens is 30 users doing that.. and now everyone needs to download those images, to load the forum. Can something be done about this? GIF's are the worse offender. Thanks.

Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to switch the purchase of a product for another product. A member purchased a product with a renewal and asked me to change the purchase for another product that costs the same price. What would be the best way to do this? The user group is different for each product but its price and renewal are the same. What should I do and how? Thanks

I'm having a few of our site members getting in touch with me, saying they can't see embedded tweets on their phones. However... I can! Hello, I am trying to upgrade to 4.7.6. I switched from PHP 7 to PHP 8, but all I get when attempting to upgrade are 500 errors. I used the checker and it says I'm ready to go: http://www.goosecreekbend.org/ips4.php But... I need help with finding a setting in the Admin CP. By default, when a new forum member registers to the forum, he is assigned to the "Member" Group. How do I change which Group he is assigned to? For example, I need all new registrations to be assigned to a custom Group I created called "New Member". I am using v4.1 I believe I remember this setting existing, but I cannot seem to find it now.

Hi All - I want to add a HelpScout's Beacon app to my IP Board so I provide a way to load Q&A and have members ask questions for customer support. I know I have to add HTML code that is assigned to the Beacon app, but is there an HTML block that I am able to use on the IP Board to easily do this? Not sure of the best way to do this. Thanks!

Might just be a specific case scenario. Create a couple of admin groups and restrict one to only have dashboard access and another to just have access to nexus/support tickets (but not settings or anything else). Apply both as secondary groups. In ACP/Commerce/Support area, Performance and Setting are still visible. Edit the "dashboard only" group to enable commerce and disable all support settings (then disable access to it again) and save, issue is fixed.

Hello, I am just about to upgrade from 4.7.4 to 4.7.6 but I noticed some "new" surprise. What gonna happen after upgrade? Will I be able to enable the "incompatible" modules? As I am sure they are compatible. That has been verified. Will child themes and lang copies will get disabled as well?

In preparation for upgrade to the latest release requiring PHP 8.x from my current version (4.7.3), I have set up a test server and migrated our IPS www and database. The site is working fine, but I can't invoke any themes or styling, so I just get unstyled HTML rendering. I have tried "Clear System Caches" under tools and diagnostics to no avail. I have also tried using the IPS default theme with no luck. Note that my license key isn't valid for this test server, as I am in full dev mode and using IP address for access rather than my domain name registered with IPS.
