If I create a discussion forum called Feedback and Suggestions (as an example) and in this parent forum I create two sub forums called company feedback and product feedback. Is there a way to only allow posting in the sub forums but not in the Feedback and Suggestions part?

Actually not sure if it was 4.1.12.1 or the option in the ACP to transfer update files without downloading first - OR BOTH For the first time ever I used the PHP OpenSSL feature in the ACP to try and auto update. I checked SFTP and put in the credentials. (I thought this would be easier-- man was I wrong) It instantly destroyed my site. White pages only. See the PHP OpenSSl jacked up all the permissions on my files. Changed them to 600 which won't work with the installer (or anything else) I was manually fixing permissions 1 at a time until the installer finally was able to finish only to find out that after upgrading, many pages on my site are totally dest…

I'm getting a file list for Gallery instead of the Gallery since the latest update. We are getting frustrated by the inability to redirect members to a certain page on sign up. We want to go from a landing page through to a welcome page. Also on logging out it would be great to take them to a thank you see you soon page. Can anyone help with this please.

Hi all We recently moved over to 4.0 - one feature our mods miss is the "Deleted content" where if a post / topic was deleted in error could easily be restored.. as far as i can see this isn't an option in ACP - has it totally been removed or hidden somewhere? Thanks Marc

I have a Database set up that can properly save Data (From a form I've created people can access and fill out) and my issue was getting it to redirect to a certain page. Once I figured out the code for the redirect to work it would stop saving the data to the Database or Records section. How would I be able to manage both?

There is a critical problem and upcoming legal conflicts in special countries for many IPS communities, that use the IPS software as-it-is. We need a workaround or at least know, where the parameter value for the subscribe-to-bulk-email-checkbox on the registry page is located in the code, as this is illegal in a lot countries due to privacy protection laws! Hi, My forum has the warning on it "Version 4.1.12.1 of the IPS Community Suite is now available. This includes a security patch and we recommend you upgrade as soon as possible." I've submitted a support ticket but thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has (ever?) had this problem. I can't say for sure if updating to 4.1.12.1 did this, but for some reason I can't upload files anymore. To any category. The files seem to transfer ok, but when I drag and drop or browse in files to upload the dialog windows for entering title and file information do not appear. All I get is the upload meter and the Continue button at the lower right. When the uploads reach 100%, the Continue button remains ghosted out. Is anyone else having an issue with font awesome icons missing when signed out as shown is the attached image. After signing in the problem is still present until you refresh the page. I've cleared my cache browser and ACP side which hasn't helped. This occurs on all themes including the default theme.

Hello, All of the website i own have an XML sitemaps, i have not installed this on my IPB4 yet. What is /sitemap.php used for i been running the forum for a week and there is nothing in the file. Hello all, Is it possible to have the Load More Activity button used for loading more articles from a database, instead of paginations links? The image above shows the button I am referring to. It would be awesome to have members load more articles on my homepage by having such a button instead of pagination. Most of my users come from Facebook and this method closely resembles the way posts on Facebook load as you scroll down.

Hi, I updated my forum to latest v4.1.12.1 once I've received email notification 2-3 days ago. Yesterday my web hoster informed me that my server contains "finishing" pages. I discovered /login folder in the root with many unknown PHP files. So I deleted it. Then my SMTP server Postfix started to send many spam emails (around 100'000 per day!). I accidentally deleted a few images from a gallery so I re-imported the rows from a backup to ibf_gallery_images using phpMyAdmin. The images themselves were missing so I re-uploaded them. Anything else I should do to ensure everything is in working order? The other tables that referenced the images - ibf_core_search_index and orig_ibf_gallery_images - did not seem affected by the deletion so I didn't re-import anything into those.

I'm just starting to use version 4 on a couple installations and I'm trying to modify some of the themes,, the logo image, the background picker image, etc. But when I try to select a file to upload in the theme using the "choose a single file" tab, it's not working. Not for logo images, nor the background picker either. It's like there's a permission issue on a folder that isn't set right. It just ignores my request to choose a new local file. Can someone direct me on how to fix it? I've been experimenting with various folders via ftp but I haven't had any success so far. Thanks, Ron
