I have this database setup at my site that has multiple categories. I created a drop down menu that was to take to you a specified filtered category. It worked well for a bit - I then noticed the CSRF key had changed from what was there before. So this prompted this post and one more question. Do these keys change? (I mean obviously they do but how often) Is there a BETTER way of linking to the filtered category?

Can I password protect a single post? If not, I can move it to a password protected forum. If the post is password protected, are the images that are uploaded also password protected? Can I simply navigate to the image folder and it will still be viewable? I've had a couple of problems with a particular thread, and it's rather popular so I'd prefer not to delete it. I got a DMCA request for an image. I suspect they were using some automated way to find their images that have been posted without permission. I immediately took the image down. To prevent this from happening in the future I'd like it if the images were hidden.

After the upgrade to v4 it was always in French while the board is Dutch. Since 2 months it's always Arabic which is annoying for our members. Can't find where to change this in AdminCP so does anyone know? Hi all Having abit of a strange issue with our forum and the Image displayed by Facebook when its linked.. I understand it used a meta tag og:image, ive taken a look in the html and from what i understand it looks like its meant to show the forum logo when og:image is requested (i may be totally wrong) But instead when we link to the fourm on Facebook / other social media sites which grab an image it chooses a members randomly uploaded attachment. Hello, I will probably need a plug-in for this but I couldn't find anything related. What I would like to do, is to create a form where I can choose if a certain member gets a certain custom point and not to go to each profile manualy For example, I have a custom field in a profile that is called "Practice Points", the answer is numbered (1,2,3,4....) I would like to have a custom form where I have a list of members, and then I can just press if a certain member gets a point. Is there something out there that could help me with this?

I have a largish v3.4 forum. We tried upgrading to 4.0 a while back but it didn't go so well -- many threads were crashing etc. and we went back to the old version after users complained. My ibf_posts table is ~500MB and It took forever to convert all of the old posts. What I would like to do is to keep our 3.4 forum as a kind of archive, and start fresh with 4.1. So, a new 4.1 board with no posts, but carrying over member logins/avatars/reputation, etc. Any ideas on what the best way to do that would be?

Hello, As of today, I am having caching issues that wont seem to disappear by simply deleting the cache file causing the error, which used to help in the past. It shows me this error: PHP Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required 'C:\inetpub\edwebsite/datastore/cacheKeys.477c3d4e86.php' (include_path='.;C:\php\pear') in C:\inetpub\edwebsite\system\Data\Store\FileSystem.php on line 98 I am uncertain what to do to resolve this issue, I had to set the caching to "No Caching" to fix the problem for now, but I'd like to enable it again soon. There was a place where I could hire someone to do some custom work, but I can't find it. I've got over 40 different background images that I would like to rotate daily. And I'd like to add more images as I create them. A few years ago I read a PHP book which had a tutorial on how to display a random image, which seems to be a rather routine thing. I know that CSS typically controls the background image, but this can also be hard-coded into the HTML template I think... basically where it calls for a background image, PHP can be used to serve a different image each day, using a database table which contains the image URLs. Hello, This may be a stupid question, but the home page of my site is the forum and I'd like if it didn't show "Forums - My Site"...Just My Site. I looked around the AdminCP and didn't see anything, but I know I must have missed something. I just changed to IPS4, so I'm still learning my way around everything. I'm about to move (some of) my images over to amazon - and the filestorage is setup and OK now - on AWS Frankfurt. I have images stored from 2002-2003 - and up - and theres a lot and alot more of images there. Today I have all my images on my server - and I take a back-up of all those images before I take the plunge and move storage, but my concern is - what back-up routine does Amazon have. In case something is wrong in a upgrade here on IPS - and all files accidentely are deleted from amazon - how do I find the backup on amazon? any experiences appreciated. Is it adviseable to have copy of each bucket on amazon as well?

Is there a way to allow those in validating see some forum content? I never given this privilege before, and I am not seeing validating in my member list in my admin. panel. I see guest, but not validating. Should I create that group? Will they automatically go there? Thank you in advance!

In 3.x and below, we could simply use overriding permission masks to bar certain members from a forum or forums. In 4.x the permission masks are gone and while you can set permissions with groups, the primary group permissions always govern. I cannot use secondary groups and we DO NOT want to alter the primary group. What other options are there other than purchasing the Ban from Forums mod??

Does any know of a way, or a plugin, that will allow a user to click on a floating icon, or something, that takes the user back to the main topic? I know we have "Page Up" or "Back to Top" plugins, but that is only good if you are on the same page as the starter topic. I know there are also double carets at the lower left of any topic page if the pages go beyond the first page, to click on and you are taken back to the starter topic. But what if you are in the middle of a long page, or on Page 3 of posts to a topic, and the posts are 25 deep per page, and you want to return to the starter topic without having to scroll up or down to get to the double carets?
