(note: I did read several posts about bbcode but none of them provides a practical example on how to do it when there's a php plugin involved) I wasn't going to for a while longer, but since my forum (for some obscure reason) has now been black listed by google as a phising site, I was forced to upgrade my chess site to ipb4. Hey, in the past two weeks, our forums have had an increasing number of members notify us of an issue on our forums where they are unable to post. This includes posting on topics, creating new topics and creating new statuses. The forum will load up the topic or create a new topic screen but the reply box just remains gray so the members are unable to type in it. I just can't see that I have done anything different between these two sites. This is a site that was upgraded from 3 to 4. I turned the old article db into an archive page, and created a fresh new articles db to start over. Am I just missing a setting or is it something to do with the upgrade? Any suggestions? Thanks JM

I have users who can upload files to downloads application. I enabled stats and everyone in the group can see who downloaded files on every file. I want to set permissions such that only the OWNER of a respective file can who has downloaded it. But if they click on another file there are no stats. Possible???? (can't find setting) Thank you

Good afternoon, Recently my server hosting was compromised and a hacker gained full access to the system my IPB was hosted on. As you could expect, we're moving to much more secure solution for our needs, however, we are concerned what exactly could have been done while this attacker was in our system. I know that the support tab has the feature to "check all source code" for authenticity or something similar, however, I am also concerned about the database. As far as our plugins/applications go, I will be deleting all of them and installing fresh new versions as I'm not sure if they are included in the source code check or not (I'm assuming they're not). …

about a week ago, after years of untroubled use, our Forum at www.neow.net began getting a browser security error inconveniencing some forum users and depending on the browser they were using, blocking others from logging in. I was able to trace the error back to what appears to be a strange mismatched SSL certificate for an entirely different website - i'm not exactly sure what this is or how it happened. the site is hosted by Invision in their cloud and they just performed the upgrade to IPB4x 2 days ago and the warning remains. I have a page in Pages named how-to: https://thesandtrap.com/how-to/ (or https://thesandtrap.com/how-to). I also have a folder named "how-to" with several pages inside, like: https://thesandtrap.com/how-to/mention-members, https://thesandtrap.com/how-to/embed-videos, and https://thesandtrap.com/how-to/add-an-avatar. Hello everyone, a simple question. In the old IPB 3.x I was able to use per Forum skinning like: <if test="$this->request['f'] == 123"> costom content to Forum with ID 123 </if> How does this work now? Hello. If a user doesn't have any avatar ... in the standard setting it shows the default picture. I can upload a 1x1 pixel image to the ressource of the default picture. But this doesn't resolve the space problem, that the dimensions of 100x100 are still holded back. So how can I trim the space for example in the topic view?

What happened to the Gallery permissions on 4.x? In 3.x I could go to any category and set member level permissions stating that they had the ability to move, edit, delete, rename.....but in 4.x I can't seem to find that functionality? EDIT: I just knew I would find it after posting about it! They moved it to under Members > Moderators > Usergroup > Gallery Tab

After reading the help guide I was trying to figure how to make certain CSS change various forum pages specifically. For example, I wanted to change the logo based on which forum ID you were visiting; i.e. if the viewer was reading a list of topics in forum ID 2; they'd see one a different logo from all the other pages. For most of the day https://thesandtrap.com/discover/6/ (my personal favorite stream), /discover/unread/, and the other /discover/something/ stuff hasn't worked for me. It works sometimes but most of the time I get a blank white page. https://thesandtrap.com/discover/ does work.
