I'm currently using Sendgrid for my Emails But i see that we can use IPS email system what exactly is the difference? and would it be better for me to use IPS email system? I ask this, because it seems like a lot of my emails keep getting sent to spam folders to members, not all, but a lot of them are saying that they don't get the email, or miss it, due to it being in spam folder? Does IPS email system have better chances of not going to spam folder?

I have setup adsense according to the Invision guides, but the space where my ads should be showing is blank. I am receiving impressions, I just can't see the ads. I do not have an adblocker in use. Any ideas? Thank you

It seems that rel="external" is automatically being added to links in comments, even to the same domain the forum is on and that also explicitly is whilelisted on System > Settings > Posting > Links > Domains to instruct search engines to follow. I want to have control over this and don't like to have the rel="external" added automatically, but I can't find it in the templates. Any suggestion where & how to change this? Thanks!

In the code for the profile cards that come up when you do a member search the group name displays because of this code: <p class='ipsType_reset ipsType_medium'>{$member->groupName|raw}</p> Is there a way to do a similar display but for one of the profile fields that I have added. I would like to right under that pull one of the additional fields I have created but thus far I have not been able to figure it out.

Before i did change my /admin url to a /new_folder That went fine before and i remember i tested to surf to my admin folder to se what happened. I allso set up a fake index.php i the old admin folder. But today when i trying again to test the old admin folder i redirects to my /new_folder. I have not add any redirect url to my /new_folder. That have been very stupid i think of me. I have check my .htaccess and no redirects are in there. So how come now suddenly it redirects from my old /admin folder to my /new_folder? So where is the redirect. i cant find any, and i havent set up any. Is that something wrong in the script now. After some upgrades? …

I logged this big time bug...did the upgrade on two forums and it changed the email settings from PHP to SMTP!! In BOTH forums....so it is not specific to one forum. There is a bug. Someone please advise on a patch for this! It is NOT ALLOWING me to change it to PHP....it keeps changing it back after the save to SMTP!

I want to disable the ability to set custom titles. When I go to Ranks and select to never allow users to change their user titles it says the setting is saved but the setting doesn't really get saved. Once I open it again it is unchecked again and users can edit their titles. Changing the amount of content needed doesn't work either and it remains at 0. Has anyone run into this or knows what could be wrong?

I am trying to edit some code I have on pages, however, the source code button is no longer visible on any page to edit snippets I have added previously. I am completely stuck without this option and have no idea why it has gone. On another website I have created using pages the option button to edit code button is still there to switch from WYSIWYG. Thanks for any advice.

Hello, We've recently activated the sharing buttons into the community, twitter works quite well, but e-mail sharing does not seem to have the expected behavior : it sends a message to the given e-mail address, but no link is sent to the current topic being shared (!?) Is anyone familiar with the database entry: members_day_posts? When does the value update and how regularly? I have been querying it lately and noticed that not only does it not really update regularly, it also seems to be empty for a lot of users at time, despite actively posting.

I'm currently looking into converting one of my forums from XenForo to IPS. I've done a test import and everything looks good except for one problem: The BBCodes from XenForo are still present, resulting in broken messages. Has anyone had success in converting XenForo BBCodes to IPS? Thank you!

Last night I attempted to upgrade from 4.2.3 to 4.2.4. I started the process, logged in, downloaded the delta package and uploaded it. I then tried to set the upgrade process running but encountered the following error: The forum, offline at the time, worked perfectly fine while this error was up. I even logged back into the admin panel and all is fine. I've since restored the forum root files and we're back to 4.2.3. Searching this forum, the only reference to that error is a PHP session issue. I looked at our non-prod environment, which I upgraded earlier yesterday from 4.2.2 to 4.2.4 without issue, and phpinfo() reports the same configuration for the en…

Really not enjoying the new fixed navigation menu bar. Discovered that it's popping up in areas I don't want it to pop into. When editing a blank page for my site, such as an article, check out what it does: Sometimes, the navigation bar appears at the bottom of the page, sometimes it appears at the top and blocks out the edit bar: Honestly, I just discovered this little glitch and I discovered this on a clean, unmodified and unaltered IPS default forum skin. I did a complete 360 and I seriously doubt this is what IPS intended. LOLS

Having a problem with this particular issue and I just discovered the problem. When a guest views my forum, if he or she clicks on the "Members" link then they are not able to view the "Members" list, for the same reason why they cannot view member profiles. However, when they click on the "Staff" link, that displays administrators and moderators, they are able to view that list. Was this intended or is there a fix to prevent guests from viewing the list? I'd rather not have guests with the ability to view the staff listing and I haven't been able to find a setting to disable it from guest view.

Hello, Like many of you, I had a difficult time when the chat room finally shut down. But with some modifications, I've gotten ArrowChat to be a suitable replacement. I've created a script that will grab the number of active users from the chat room. However, I'm puzzled as to how to implement this into the NavBar as Invision Chat used to be. How can I do a PHP Include -- in the Nav Bar? Or is it even possible? Thanks, BB
