Just tested a URL in google to see how it was performing. The second 2 listings contain content that is not actually in the topic that is listed. What would cause this anomaly?

Greetings, I am installing IP.Board 4.3.4 for the first time and am running into an issue following installation where I cannot log into the Admin CP. I am able to log into the forum, yet when attempting to log into the Admin CP, the login box redirects back to the same login. I've tried clearing cache/cookies, and cannot make it into the panel. I've not been able to locate any other posts with this issue and otherwise the installation seems to have gone without issue. I'm using nginx as my web server on Debian Stretch. Thanks for your help! ~p

Hey, just bought my license and installed the package on my server. Everything went fine, i can login to the forum. But not to the admincp. It just clears the login fields and nothing happens.

I have two questions about GDPR settings/compliance, and I have read all blog posts here that cover this. 1) If I turn on the bar to guests which notifies them of my site's cookie usage (Guest Options -> Show terms of service confirmation bar to Guests?), but do not force Guests to accept this, will the fact that the bar is always showing to guests, including google spider, interfere in any way with the spiders when they index my site? (I think I know the answer, but want to be 100% sure here). 2) Are we sure that it is not GDPR compliant to have the opt-in newsletter box checked by default?

I was wondering if there is anything that will break when I upgrade, for example, I noticed there seems to be a different set of instructions for the social login setup between the two versions--will my social logins like Facebook, Google+, Twitter, etc. break when I upgrade? Will my sitemap break? I read that I should rebuild my sitemap after upgrading...are there other things I should check, watch out for, fix? Is there a list of issues/fixes, etc., somewhere that I can access before I run the upgrade?

The other day I had IPB support help me with an issue, they created a temporary admin account and we go things fixed. The problem is that ever since then the time zone on my site are many hours off. My Pages site is publishing articles in the middle to the night instead of during the day. How can I fix this??

Hi all, I've made a Pages Database, with a lot of custom fields and formatting on them for a star catalog (astronomy related), but since there's a lot of catalogs I need to re-use the structure and fields of a created database. Asked support and there's no such functionality out of the box. I'm able to use phpmyadmin for copying databases and fields and see if that works but, is there a better way to clone or make a new copy of an existing database structure (not mysql structure, ipb structure) ? I can start a new one from scratch, but since I need to use this db structure for several catalogs it would be great to know if someone was successful doing this. …

Whenever I seem to make a change like adding a plugin or tweaking the theme's HTML/CSS, the MySQL database gets flooded with queries of this type: /*IPS\Data\Store\_Database::set:90*/ REPLACE INTO `ibf_core_store` ( `store_key`, `store_value` ) VALUES ( ?, ? ) What exactly is going on, and what can I do to make this faster? It feels like it's a recent problem since we shifted server as well as upgraded to the latest version.

I would like to change the diameter and color of the "unread" dots and stars on just the topics list page and the unread content page and nowhere else? Anybody know what code to use in the custom css to accomplish this? This is for 4.2.9 for now. Thanks

Short and sweet of this is, I run a video game magazine website. We use our Gallery to collect cover images of video game magazines from across the world. For magazines in the USA this is not really an issue, but some Japanese gaming magazines have very risky covers with nude anime characters. I am looking for a way to put these categories as an opt in, where maybe each user needs to specify they wish to see these covers. Either as a one time setting, or each time they enter the category, any ideas? Or should I look for someone to code a mod?

I have read about the implementation of ElasticSearch and I have some doubts. Among other things, I saw that it is difficult to stipulate the ideal configuration, it is necessary to get some data from it in order to be able to configure it correctly. But before doing anything I hava some questions... We have 133k active users per month in the forum, our database does not have 2GB at the moment .. When is it worth using it? Should I hire a new hosting service for it or can I use the same server with more memory? Follow our current configuration vCPUs: 4 Memory: 8 GB

Hi! Can anyone direct me to where I can execute a SQL query after a successful registration? I'd like to basically create an account in one of my other databases with the IPB entered username, e-mail, and password information. This is after a user registers on the forums. Additionally, I know that once a user updates his/her password, I would also like to update it in my other database as well! Thanks!

Dear, I found this in my database. Im running 4.3.4 A tabel ipb_core_search_index with a size of 309 MiB. Is this still in use for 4.3.4? Can i change it to InnoDB? Or can it be cleaned? Thank you guys :)

Hello I am migrating my PHPBB 3.2 forum to IPS Community 4. I was advised to use Cron for the conversion to be done correctly. It's been over 45 minutes that I look at the advanced, and for example on private messages, in 45 minutes I converted 5000 messages (65k left...). Is this normal? Note that on the monitoring of my server, I use barely 10% of the power, ram 10% too, and apache / mysql 30% approximately. Should I continue with Cron or do you have any advice to give me? Just did a v3 to v4 upgrade, but no recurring member can see the forum index unless they do a full cache clean. F5 and normal reloading doesnt change anything (for windows browsers like Chrome). Where is the setting to make IPB force reload content without caching? Its a serious issue because all members will not know why the forum index is not displaying.

Some years ago, I built a bespoke CMS for the website associated with our community that authenticated its logins against the v3 IPB member database. This enabled me to leverage IPB's user management features, which were applicable to the CMS too (user roles and permissions, etc). This broke completely with the introduction of v4, and I've been holding off upgrading until I can figure out how to make it work again in a dev environment. Sadly, I'm having no luck whatsoever! I need to update some number on the landing. This number is the database counter. On the page open this counter loaded well. Then for the live update, I created a simple controller JS, which get ajax front public url to get a new number. Obviously, it's very stupid way. So, our site currently has a huge problem which makes it unusable. After the problem gets fixed I will probably need to completely re-install IPS but I don't want to do all the forums and pages again (that was days worth of work) so I wonder if it's possible to implement the forums, databases and pages into the new version since I still have the old files.

Hi, I have two Pages blocks with identical permissions. I checked database, pages, blocks, fields. No difference when it comes to permissions. However, while I can see both as an admin. Everyone else sees just one of them. Any idea of places where I could check?

How are IPS able to use a unique OG image inside twitter cards, this image is nowhere to be seen in the article they are linking to? Is this only available with pages and not the forum app? If I use the inbuilt twitter promote, it just uploads the image separate and shows the tweet with link rather than display in card format. If I just drop a link into Twitter naturally it uses the default sharer image from the theme.

We just updated the forum and now members don't find the option to log in when going to the forums page. No fields to enter username and password that is. I am pretty sure it's just a setting, but we can't figure it out. Can anyone help? Thanks
