FIXES
Fixed a numpty issue with saving group settings correctly to the database instead of just the cache.   Fixed issue where disabling "Manage 'Create New Stream' permissions" had no effect (only observable if it had previously been enabled AND the groups configuration had been modified from default) NEW

MariaDB: I am using version 10.11.2 without any issues.
PHP: 8.0 or 8.1 is the current IPS supported versions.
Redis: Version 6 according to IPS because version 7 is not yet support by PHPRedis extension, but I am using version 7 without any issues.
Elasticsearch: At least version 7.2.0, but less than version 8.0.0.
Before update make sure you disable all third-party plugins and app, and before enabling them back to make sure you update them to the latest version where they are compatible with PHP 8 and support IPS 4.7.

I pointed this out just recently mate.

No, I would recommend finding a new host that doesn't have arbitrary limits on database size. (it has never made sense to me)

This is due to the way the system is built to allow multiple types of content (such as blog entries and forum topics) in one feed while also having high performance / low server impact generating the feed. It uses the search index which automatically strips all formatting (except for paragraphs - those are converted to plaintext line breaks).
So, not really as intended, but a limitation of the way the search index is currently structured with not having the fully formatted version of the content.

My jest aside, I did try out the'Night Mode' in Firefox app on my ipad. It actually works fine for studying the IPS docs at night. Pretty terrible for photos and images, though!

We did have a fix going through testing for this, but it didn't pass. We'll be working on another approach for this issue in a future release.

I tried out Zapeir a few weeks ago and gave up, it just wouldn't accept the provided credentials in the AdminCP. My free trial has since ended, but I wanted to see what was possible using their free service. In particular, I wanted simply to create an email, topic or PM message for when a member had a birthday or registration anniversary.

You cannot rollback to older version of IPS unless you have a backup to the database and files in order to restore them. My suggestion is reupload the beta files and continue the upgrade because it would not harm your site, and once the 4.7.9 is final upgrade your site again. Then in the future make sure you don't do the same mistake again.
