For all with the same question: Today I updated to 4.7.5 and the plugin works.

I see you have another Go To Top modification in that list. Based on the name it should do something similar, if not you can give this one a try instead:

@Randy Calvert Randy, it's great that you're so active, but you're a customer like all of us, so let the IPS Team write something, because you act like their spokesperson or someone who knows more than us, and you know as much as we all do, which is nothing.

A year has passed... It seems to me that IPS thinks too much about the backend and forgot about the frontend.

Yeah, I knew this was coming. 😃I think none of my several suggestions (31) were implemented so I guess I will save the time.

Cloud customers can upgrade using the upgrade button, in the same manner as a self hosted customer. Just click the button.
With regards test forums, that is not available, unless you purchase a second suite for you testing purposes.

WP V0RT3X got a reaction from David N. in Discord with a new Forum module! Is this the end of the forums?
Forums are dying because they don't adapt to the new way of consuming content and communicate with other people.
Whether IPS, XF, vB, wBB, ... it's just not fun to use them on mobile, it's way too cumbersome. Besides, a responsive layout can't compete with something designed specifically for these devices.
I mean just look at this, nothing more to say.

Next point, why should I sign up on a forum when I'm already on Discord or wherever? And all my friends are already there too?
Forums will always have their place in some genres like support or other special interrest niches and for oldschool users who prefer desktop computers, but that are minorities.

WP V0RT3X got a reaction from Saurabh Jain in For making impressive home page
Start with creating a filename.php with something like this ...
    <?php require_once('init.php'); \IPS\Dispatcher\External::i(); $html = 'Lorem ipsum ...'; \IPS\Output::i()->sendOutput( \IPS\Theme::i()->getTemplate('global', 'core')->globalTemplate('Supertolle Seite', $html)); Then check out sites like w3schools and fill the file with your content.
For landingpages and so on you don't even need the pages application.

If it still works with PHP8 there should be no problems with the latest IPS version, but I can take a look this evening.

I totally agree with this, other clients have the same concern as well...
I developed a little plugin to overcome this by allowing admins to select the default search area, not sure if IPS will approve it or not (Now awaiting MP approval).

WP V0RT3X reacted to Davyc in Feedback about the new search bar
It may not be realistic but that's what they do.  We have to remember that these are ordinary people who are 'used' to just typing in what they are looking for.  As @Markus Jung noted people are used to Google and YT, WP and SM etc, and just type and click/tap.  Attention spans are generally at a low eb for regular use items and to 'expect' people to notice is as unrealistic as expecting that they do notice.  We have to put ourselves in the same shoes as users, not admins and not experts at using the system.  A search bar implies you can search the site - if you want to drill down then we need to educate users that they can drill down, if they want.
An example that I have come across many, many times with people I know (including clients) is with Google search.  Not one of them knew that by clicking on 'tools' that they can have more options to drill down further depending on what they are searching for.

My point being that 'expecting' people to notice this (when it has never been that way before) is expecting too much.  Over time users who visit regularly may notice and get used to it, but the casual passer-by will probably not, and that can cost you a member.  Search 'Everywhere' should be the starting point and then let a user know that there are other options available by making them more noticeable (push it to them).

Or (and in my opinion even better) make it default to search everywhere. If you get too many results, you can then narrow the search in the next step.

I see them doing well with this. Their mobile app is already great, same as the desktop app. They have apps everywhere on every device. They have a modernized clean UI, which is a big seller.
