Last Visited should state "Online Now" when a user is still online (the same way the hover card currently displays it).
The way it works now is a bit odd, as mentioned in the following threads:

So, to me, this is absolutely bonkers.

IPS' team has noticed that their plugin community is a fraction of what it used to be, thinks this is because everyone has switched to bespoke work (You sure it's not the other way around? People using bespoke work /because/ the plugin community has a fraction of the size it did back when there was a free version and before IPS was trying to be everything for every person by default?).

So they /murder/ pre-made plugins. No, we're not going to see thriving new marketplaces. Excited devs will start some, none of these will be as active as the current one, most if not all of these efforts will peter out quickly. Not having the marketplace in the panel, not having them vetted by IPS, not having people browse over them prior to purchasing IPS (and plan out a setup with plugins), not having their plugins listed on IPS' websites are all small cuts that together, cut deep. IPS' website was never a limiter on other marketplaces (they've always existed for themes and some plugins), but free advertisement to those who did have those. You're merely taking away an option and your stamp of approval.

And you do this brilliant move in the middle of a version, announcing it to your costumers roughly a month up-front.

Definitely not obvious you're springing it this way to ensure customers don't either, mass-hug a former major version to keep their plugins, or start planning migrations away from IPS between the time of announcement and release.

Now, months after it happened, I google 'Invisionpower plugins marketplace' and find nothing on the first page.

Sincerely, as someone who was a fan once of IPS, you people suck.

I am also stumped why the marketplace or at least a directory of available plugins and apps is no longer available. Not like the older days when it was easy to find a solution to certain things within minutes.

wish you luck in the future Martin!

Cool feature, but it seems to me that a large number of icons will interfere with the perception of content in the community.

    Hi
    Just discover this
sounds weird to me, App store, Google play store, Wordpress plugins depository, it makes sense to find all apps / plugins at the same place, rather than to have to check all devs websites...
i am not sure that's a good move

Percival reacted to Joel R in Invision Community 5: Dark mode, accessibility, performance and mobiles!
Some questions and / or observations:
    - the Sidebar Menu offers a lot of links.  The (regular) browse menu on mobile offers much less links.  I'm guessing you have an option per link on whether to show on mobile?
    - Bottom mobile menu is nice.  This is a well established design theory by Luke Wrobleski from Google product design, but I actually thought many mobile apps were moving away from the bottom menu because it overlaps with some built in browser or phone options.  Thoughts? I don't think there's one right answer, just more interested in your perspective.

    - traditional view of menu only offers single row.  I already do this on my primary community today (not because of any special study on design theory, but for simplicity!) but would be interested in your perspective in why you're imposing this approach.  The current Menu structure already encapsulates this and more. Why change it?
    - performance improvements.  You removed JavaScript and a lot of CSS.  But then we also need splashy grid pictures of our latest trip to Australia and croc suit for the new Forum Feed / Big Grid view!

Why not add Courses and Real-Time Who is Typing/Viewing to Self Hosted like Calendar is? Seems somewhat odd not to want to showcase and include a feature you’ve already developed that would add value to the product and ultimately help sell more licences.

    Some nice ideas there.
I’m not a fan of minimizing the user info in the topic view though. The personal touch of clearly seeing who you are interacting with is getting more important these days, not less. If anything, this view should only be triggered if there is not enough space, not in full desktop view. As a typographer, the example screenshot is painful to look at.  3 posts with just one or two lines each that are waaaaaaaay too long for comfortable reading. This was always a problem with a default IPS installations but now it was made worse, not better. If the user info remains to the side, it also improves the readability of the post content.

We've released some news on Invision Community Five, but third party developers won't have enough information to get started on updating their apps. We're at the peak of the mountain now and ready to start showing more in the coming weeks.
I am really excited to start showing off the culmination of just under six month's work from our team.

No dates, but we're unlikely to release a major new version around a public holiday when our team are enjoying time away with their family. You'll definitely see more of Invision Community 5 this year.
In terms of the JS bundling changes, the answer is 'no' but not 'never'. We want Invision Community 5 to be the start of something new, and we'll be converting JS over to native and changing how things are bundled over the early part of its lifecycle. We didn't want to add another 6-9 months onto its development schedule to rewrite all the JS which is a massive undertaking and offers very slim benefits to almost everyone outside of Google speed tests.

I think you may be misunderstanding there. You have no price increase at all, unless you choose to change terms (in the same manner as if you had chosen to add more applications before). If you havent changed terms, your price is as it was previously. What we have done is stopped selling items individually. This isnt an increase in price, it's a removal of sale options

What is "the" new one? The Provider Directory or what @Joel R is building? No offense to Joel here, but there can be other marketplaces, some providers may not be part of any 3rd party marketplace, and some will walk away (not sure how many active/semi-active devs are in the marketplace today anyway).
My point is that it will be a chore.

To Marketplace developers and the Invision community as a whole, I will be happy to host an independent and collaborative Marketplace directory.  It's already in the works.
I fully support a thriving ecosystem of developers and clients: to extend, to inspire, and to push the boundaries of our platform. Technology is an important differentiator more than ever in the modern web, and working with developers (either privately or through their public mods) can help fine-tune your platform.

More information and invitations will be sent out to active Marketplace devs.  You are also welcome to send me a direct PM.
Follow this topic for any future updates.

We have a lot of bugs in two latests updates, v4.7.10 and v4.7.11. How can we go back in a downgrade to older and stable versions until you can solve all issues? We have to offer excellent usability to our customers and this is not the way to do it.
    Thanks a lot.

In lieu of this functionality previously we developed a completely different workflow that is working well, the users have accepted it - we have no intention changing that.
Please make the new delete requests function optional or configurable for specific groups only.

    HI IPS,
I personally do not like this type topics when my Customers post it, and to be honest I have a feeling  just I want to click DELETE button, however every time I see such I try to understand them.
I noticed that for last few updates you started creating many new issues while fixing other. If you will search forums you will notice that recent updates generated many problems where some were/are related to important areas.. e.g. payments (PayPal), login session.. and many many smaller ones.
If you are unsure of quality of specific update, maybe reconsider not pushing update just because you are at the end of your monthly schedule? maybe split updates into 2 smaller ones, to twice a month? as if you will create new issues, your customers must wait a month for next update (since you stopped pushing hotfix releases for a while already).
I honestly can understand you often do your best, check things million times, you are happy all is working where at the end some updates are total fail - I know it from autopsy, but if things start to happen for 1-2-3.. updates.. that means some procedure requires correction. Discuss it internally. Thanks.
