socceronly got a reaction from Adriano Faria in Links Directory
Looks great.  Going to buy it shortly and replace my Pages directory.
Just a couple of questions wrt to the Commerce integration.
In the images I see a What's new Block and  Random Links block.
Is there a Featured links block that people could pay for?
In that vein, is there an ability to pay for a pinned link in a category, and possibly have the ability to set the number of those to a maximum?
I'm going to get this either way, just not sure if these are questions or feature requests!  😉

EDIT: To buy this for more that one site, just go through the purchase process again?

    Hi everyone,
One small request if it is possible...
Language control panel under ACP is NOT a friendly environment.... I am going to try to give some feedback to make this friendlier for all of us who have bilingual platform
Most of us who has bilingual platform; we do not translate admin panel, we only translate front end; therefore we need a good system that separates admin and front end language bits... (very important) When I click on "Untranslated" the admin and front end option should be there too.

We're using IPS as the main knowledge/communication-platform in our company. With Pages we built a lot of databases (i.e. bugtracker, dev-docs) and pages with WYSWIG blocks (i.e. featuresheets) or selfmade custom blocks for rendering content from external REST-APIs.
Please give us Pages in Clubs to create small communitys for divisons, workgroups and interests...

Adding front-end Pages elements to Clubs has to be a no brainier. IPS said it would be added later when Clubs were announced.
The drag & drop WYSIWYG content block
I think the majority of clients would first make use of the Pages front-end WYSIWYG block, to have blocks of cacheable content including text and images which they can drag where they want, into a single or multiple column layout.
It would be ideal for homepages/about pages, basically any kind of information and content needed to add value, sidebar content blocks etc. Actually the same principal as that behind members being able to add custom content blocks to their Blogs several years back; to personalise and make relevant and interesting content available including text, image, video/music embeds and other file attachments, links etc.
    Pages Articles
Giving members ability to create articles in the Club with the editor should be a basic requirement allowing for Club news, featured content, content categories, paid or free, RSS feed imports.
    Calendar Intergration
Have to say the Calendar access via Clubs is very limited without allowing Club owners the ability to import iCal RSS news and event feeds into Club Calendar and potentially Pages Articles.

This goes back to the point I've been saying for some time, Pages front-end should be enhanced to supplement the current page layout and record options with drag and drop, touch ready call to action blocks, sliders, carousels, news article sliders, pricing tables, quote blocks, image and video blocks, testimonial blocks, etc. Droppable into full-width rows, 1-12 column rows.
Add those 'Divi' style features to Pages for Clubs and you've nailed it, ultimate flexibility and personalisation.
Add New Page to Club, choose initial 1, 2 or 3 column layout, add row, make full width or add columns to that row. Add custom text WYSIWYG blocks, slider, image blocks. Job done.

Oh, and a big one: Online Courses!
With Pages databases in clubs we could easily sell online courses with articles, video lessons and so on. The entire club could be a paid course and the usual features like discussion area are there already as well. And members could make money selling courses and admins can get a cut of it.

@Koper74 I agree - Clubs should be expanded to include Pages and everything else required to allow clubs to be "sub-sites" from the existing site if required.  Right now, Clubs forums and blogs can;'t even be included in feed widgets, which is pretty lacking IMHO.

I used Sendgrid based on the recommendation of the IPS staff and because support is built into IPS. Unfortunately the price of Sendgrid is 10x that of Amazon's SES simple email service.
I just switched over to Amazon SES and am stuck using the SMTP route rather than via the API because there isn't native support via IPS like there is for Sendgrid.
I'd like to ask for or vote for IPS adding support for Amazon SES, just like it supports Sendgrid.

socceronly reacted to Aiwa in Mobile App, Progressive Web App (PWA) For IPB
@TheWorldNewsMedia.org I'm not interested in this topic, or any debate.  Aiming your misguided tone toward me, however, is sorely misplaced. I don't drink the kool aid, and you assuming I do based on a contributor tag is short sighted and, frankly, insulting.
I made it clear IPS could do better with mobile in my comment. They also haven't ignored it. They may not yet have an answer for the feature set your looking for, but they haven't ignored it. The point of my comment, quit with the whining about mobile and do what you need for your community first.
IPS has stated they aren't ignoring mobile, yet for some reason people like yourself keep belaboring on a topic focused on a specific mobile approach, PWA.
Instead, would it not be more constructive to focus on the feature set you're looking for? Mobile, that's a broad topic... What about mobile are you wanting solved? Leave out the HOW, and focus on the specific WHAT you need solved.

"A different article style" by @TAMAN
I'd like to point out to any IPS representative who might read this topic that v4 has been out for one year, and yet the community has only managed to offer 1 community guide and 1 Marketplace purchase.  There's clearly not enough community support or community innovation for what should be the most extensible app out of the suite, and that creates a steep learning curve for new admins who are uninitiated to Pages.  I think even a handful of article block templates (like 4 - 6 different styles) can go a long ways towards helping non-technical admins put together some amazing pages.

    Hi all,
Trying to make Pages similar in usability as Joomla, I suggest to include more templates for database, categories and listing templates. The category listing template is really ugly, they're articles, not a blog!
    I suggest to include
    a) The "recipes" and "release notes" should be included as default in every IPB Pages installation. It will not harm to add a lot of ways to show the information.
    b) Category listing should have options like database's  article template  (category 3 column feature image).  Some very nice things were done by users, why dont include them?

    c) Import/Export for data OR move content between databases.
Pages has a lot of potential, good for the admin, but regarding look & feel you must learn template syntax to do something nice.
    Best Regards!

socceronly reacted to Aramaech in Widget block visibility per sub-forum on admin cp
A feature in the admin cp somewhere that lists all active widget blocks giving each a drop-down forums selector to check off which sub-forums the block would be visible on, would be very convenient.  It would allow for completely custom block and page layouts per sub-forum, increasing the software's layout versatility substantially with a relatively small addition.

Is it/would it be possible for the Invite to include a Coupon from the online store if it was activated?
So you send the invite and they get a $5 off coupon or something like it if they sign up?

v3.1.7 has been released with confirmed support for IP.Board 4.1 and several other minor bug fixes as well. Only upgrade if using IPB 4.1 or later.

You should assume all mods, plugins, and third-party apps to NOT be compatible with 4.1 unless the author specifically says it is.
With that said, I think you will find @Kevin Carwile to be one of the more responsive and attentive developers in the Marketplace, and he'll be able to provide an update pretty soon.

Not sure if this is a stupid question... but should a Donation show up automatically in the the list/log ect?
I have only had one, and I just added it manually.  That chiseled at the total ect...
I think I installed it correctly.
Edit: Just had a couple of people try it.  I see the money in PP, but nothing is registered in the system.
Looked back over the posts here, but don't see anything obvious to do.

I have GC on Cloud as well, I turned it off as it produced 500 errors and slowed to the point of being unusable.
I wasn't in a rush, so I thought I would just wait for things to cook a little.
    Perhaps 4.1+ won't make a difference here?
