Thanks Marc. I guess what I was thinking with respect to a user 'portal', was having a print job there to reorder. So more like a purchasable record with the file stored. I have not tried a custom order in Commerce... does it retain something like an uploaded file under the users profile? I'll experiment with that today. Perhaps Downloads could be made to do this and permissions restrict the access. Thanks JM

Just to be clear, this isn't a how question.... but an is it possible question. Could you use the API to build a pay now type button using commerce based on the fields. After it was submitted I suppose. The how part can come later, just curious if it is possible. Thanks, JM

Wondering if this is a good idea or not. Could CIC be used to set up a site for a print shop? Users upload image/file Select what they want, size, quantity ect... Pay based on the criteria selected. I would like the user to have their own "portal" so to speak, which CIC would be idea for. Creating node/record for the image and using custom fields for the print criteria seems straight forward. It's the paying bit based on something the user creates I am not sure is possible. Any ideas? JM

Not sure where you are, but the number one reason to use Shopify is the shipping discounts. This matters massively in Canada. There is a way to add a shipping form for the product/sale with cusom fields. This does not do shipping calculations but the nature of your business allows you roll in the shipping it might work. Has anyone tried a Zapier integration with Shopify yet?

I would not think to look there, like ever.

Not keen on scrolling down to the bottom to hunt for logging in and the community. I get some UX/UI person decided to hide log ins on major websites for some reason..... but I really find that kind of thing annoying.

Is it possible to use JS to fetch records and display them randomly or weight their display based on some other variable (field, membership, ect..) Is it possible to use JS to create a Buy This button and add it to a Record? If someone were so inclined and skilled/knowledgeable (not me) could they use JS/Rest API to run the site Headless/PWA (not entirely clear on the difference there)? I'm not looking for the code, just trying to figure out what is actually possible with JS and the API. I have experience with JS but not using APIs in a framework/app like this. Are there any resources to get started? Hello World type of examples? Under Help>Developer Resources it looks like PHP which I assume you can't use on Cloud 5. Thanks JM

I would like to simplify the grid output of records and the category grid view. Is there a template you alter or do you override things with css? Two examples 1. The Category Grid view... adds in the first article title and article count. I want to delete both of those and take back that empty space. Grid view of the records eliminate the teaser, views, and possibly add the output of a custom field, again take back that empty space.

But there don't seem to be tags available for Pages/Database content types either, and those can be User created.

Is that a possibility? Also eliminating the Category block at the top. If you have a hundred Categories that thing isn't going to work, but the sidebar block will. Thanks JM

Does the API let you do that kind of modification? I could see reworking the output of Downloads since the functionality is already there.

Yes, but that appears on the front end of adding it to the cart, not on the purchase end. Unless I am misunderstanding what you are saying. So you would have COLOR SIZE SHIPPING ADDRESS Then when you check out, it asks for your billing address. It looks really weird and just isn't how any online purchase works. I know they eliminated physical products. I am not asking for that back. This simple (at least for me to say it hahaha) addition would cover most small businesses shipping items.

I am not asking for the shipping module ect... but commerce as it is would satisfy most small businesses to ship products. All we need is a shipping address if different than billing address. No fancy modules. Adding the shipping address to the product as a field is just looks weird. Thanks JM
