I've set my site up to use MaxCDN and optimised it pretty much everywhere. ySlow and pagerank were showing 80/100 ish. Unfortunately, enabling 'minify javascript' (which causes css to be minified too!) seems to cause a redirect to the root of the site which is increasing the page load time. I've been using pingdom.com to monitor page load speeds. Here is a test when css was minified: http://tools.pingdom.com/default.asp?url=http%3a%2f%2fwww.trials-forum.co.uk%2f&id=4240529 (page load time: 2.12 seconds) If you click 'show link heirarchy' you can see a redirect happening after the CSS is called, and its loading the whole of the site root again. Here is a te…

Hello Is it safe to clear (remove entries) from the tables: ibf_admin_login_logs ibf_search_results <--- I am using sphinx and is this table related to it and is it safe to clear it? If yes please give me the two commands for those two tables to clear them. ibf_topic_markers <--- Does this clear only the info from the users on which topics they have read and which not? Thank you

So I'm working with a dedicated linux box, I'm working on a script that interacts with a 3rd party app. This 3rd party app will, send me a Post cURL where my server handles the request looks up more data and replies as the output. Also in the same script I can POST to the third party app via cURL. I have my script set up correctly but I don't think my server is allowing the incoming cURL request because nothing is going through... I tried the exact same script and put it on a shared hosting server and it worked there. So my question is, how do I verify that my server is refusing incoming cURL requests and how do I fix that?

I'm not sure what's going wrong, but some how my apache isn't looking for index.php or index.html anymore as the default index.. I'm not quite sure what it is looking for either. So the only way to get to my website is to actually type in www.mydomain.com/index.html www.mydomain.com won't work I get page not found errors. I don't know if this is an htaccess thing or not. But the sooner I get this fixed the better.

Hello ! :) I've decided to disable some hooks* to see if things are doing better. It looks like it created a very high server load... I had many members online (about 1100) perhaps is this the reason ? At the beginning, the load was about 15 and it rose up to 120. When this happened I was watching the sql process list : And a top : and I had many errors like this one : What do you think of this ? Is it normal ? Thank you ! :) * I disabled these hooks : Unread Notifications Shows unread notifications on the board index Ad Code Sidebar Displays ad code on the board index sidebar Who's Chatting Shows who is in chat if installed and enabled

My members have been complaining to me about not receiving notifications, I checked my email logs and found an enourmous amount of bounced emails from hotmail, appearantly hotmail marked emails sent by the forum as spam? It is all opt in notifications generated for my members at thier request? I have never once sent out an unsolicited mass email, my 17,000 plus membership hates that so I simply dont do it! No newsletters none of that unsolicted bs, yet now my forum has been marked by the biggest email providers as spam? Its spread to other microsoft networks and even gmail now, shaw.cn in canada and sister networks of hotmail all bounced ipb emails from my server. I…

MRTG: http://212.7.200.162/mrtg/memory.html The server has 2 fairly big forum installs, one with around 200 active users and one with 500 odd. my.cnf (based on tuning-primer and mysqltuner reccomendations) httpd.conf (this one I dont understand too well!) Any optimisation suggestions very welcome :)

I know if this is the correct way to do it, but it's not working and I was hoping someone could help me out with this. Also, I was wondering for large databases, would it time out since it's running from a php file? <?php require_once('/home/iweb/public_html/cronJob/db-connect.php'); // connect to db $query = "mysqldump -u iweb_user -pXXXX --single-transaction iweb_forums | gzip > /home/iweb/public_html/_db-backup/iweb_forums.sql.gz"; $result = @mysql_query($query); // run the query ?>

Hi, I run a decent sized forum (1GB database), and I'm trying to figure out a way to make daily backups. mysqldump is too retourse intensive to run daily, even overnight. Is there a way to make incremental backups?
