Posted September 11, 201113 yr Are there any known issues between IPB and LiteSpeed? Just checking before I move my forum to HawkHost. I heard there were some issues not specific to IPB but I forget what they were.
September 11, 201113 yr well, my host recently changed my server from apache to lightspeed... due to a bad r1soft backup timing out and crashing things... im now occasionally getting reoccurring session errors with IPB screaming at me... could be 100% unrelated, but figured id pass it on.

That could be a cookie issue, though. Thanks for the info  Anybody else? If you have your forum on a LiteSpeed server posting the link here would help somewhat I suppose.

I'm getting that, and I have members getting booted out and having to log back in occasionally. That could be a cookie issue, though. Thanks for the info  Anybody else? IPS has been through my installation and they couldn't find a problem with cookie handling.

September 12, 201113 yr Author http://www.litespeed...d:cache:ipboard Ah crap. But that's for 3.1 though, do you think it still applies?
September 12, 201113 yr Ah crap. But that's for 3.1 though, do you think it still applies? Yes, I'm not aware of any notes about IPB being modified to work better with LiteSpeed in the changelog for 3.2, and it'd quite likely still need the configuration changed in LiteSpeed itself even if the changes on that site were added in to the standard code for 3.2.
September 12, 201113 yr You'll use that only if you want to use LSWS cache. I tested it on a member's site which was using LSWS cache, I didn't find any improvements in speed.

September 12, 201113 yr You'll use that only if you want to use LSWS cache. I tested it on a member's site which was using LSWS cache, I didn't find any improvements in speed. We're not talking about optimizing the cache to make IPB faster, either.
September 13, 201113 yr Author Well I'm on HawkHost now and it's really super fast :D Haven't had any issues yet, I haven't attempted the modification yet either.

The problems I posted about above (not so) mysteriously vanished after having my host move me to an Apache server, so I hope LiteSpeed works out better for you than it did for me.
