Hey guys, Just started up my new site, I'm certainly not an internet god however a little help would be great. I have a domain name purchased from go-daddy that I want to use. Currently its forwarded to my site however as you probably know when you arrive on my site it says http://ontariodebate.invisionzone.com/ want to get rid of that invisionzone. I've looked around in the admin control and came across IPS; Master IPS Connect URL Master IPS Connect Key Authentication Type Am I in the right area to set the domain name correctly.

After a couple of years of having it, I've finally bitten the bullet and tried to use Commerce. Mission accomplished with Paypal, so I'm happy! There are a couple of things that should be obvious but I seem to have missed them, though: 1) How does a customer add a note to say something like "Please leave with number 12 if no access"? I can see that on the invoice there's the option to add a note but not when you're ordering. Or have I got it wrong and it's working as designed? 2) This is a bit late in the day but ... it doesn't seem possible to search Commerce. That's not good; I want people to be able to buy things and they may need to search to locate the…

I'm having a little bit of an issue with breadcrumbs when it comes to pages. I have some pages in folders, and while that makes the URL all neat & tidy, it doesn't do the same with breadcrumbs. So for example, the following structure: Folder Index Page A Page B Would have the urls /folder for the index page, and /folder/page-a, /folder/page-b, which is exactly what I need, however, when it comes to breadcrumbs, they don't show the parent folder as a navigation option. The breadcrumb simply says "Home > Page A", but what I'd like to have is "Home > Folder > Page A". I tried looking this up but it must be …

With Photobucket now blocking external use of images without a pricy upgrade it's just a matter of time till someone starts using my site for a image hosting provider. What I'm looking for is if it is posted at my IPS site, the only place they can view it is on my IPS site.

Hello, I was curious what happens to theme changes outside of the visual styler (such as modifying and adding code snippets to header templates, userpane etc directly) if I were to update IPB software? I'm used to WordPress and using a child theme to avoid things like that. Does IPB do anything like this?

We have 2 types of members who can access our memberpress site Paying members and non-paying members. We allow the non-paying members to access a very limited section of the site, but they can see all the resources (not content) they are missing out on by not being a member. We have a menu link to our Community Forum in our memberpress site. Because a free non-paying member has been given a login access to the site, they can see the menu link AND they can see all of the boards. I have tried so many workarounds by assigning user roles that then talk to groups but the fact they have a login is giving them access to the board. It is driving me insane! Is …

Is it possible to give different permissions to product categories in Commerce? E.g. to make category A available to everyone but category B only available to Member group X? It doesn't seem possible from what I see in Commerce, but maybe I'm missing something. It seems like it would be a useful function however.

I don't know why it's doing it, and not sure how to explain the problem, so please see screenshots log in as this person, sees forum exactly how I want them to then if I log out as that user, the admin defaults his group to something different then when I log in again as him, the forum has of course opened up to him How do I stop it from changing his first group? It's not happening to any other groups??

Hi All, My board seems to be having a bit of an issue with safari and chrome browsers after the update to 4.2.5 The sidebar drops to the bottom of the page with Ads enabled. I have tried to use both the inbuilt ad feature, and manually inputting into the <head> tag Note this does happen on the standard theme too. Any ideas?

Hello, maybe the Menu Manager is to clunky or I am too stupid. Can somebody please explain me how to make a third level menu item? E.g. like Browse - App - Function of App. It seems it is possible seens some like Stream is working that way, but I do not find out how to select a specific file/page once I made a new menu item. - Marian

I've done a conversion from XF. My members are all set to follow a given forum in a digest format of one email per day. Not all members are getting those digest emails. Is there something that would prevent them getting that notification if they have not logged in since the conversion, or is there a limit to the number of people that can follow a forum or calendar?

I have an odd problem with one of my sites...I have an ad with the location as sidebar. The ad is showing everywhere, topics, leaderboard, etc., when there are no other blocks. I just updated from 4.1.9 to 4.2.5 and can't seem to figure this out. I disabled all plugins to see and it still shows. I also checked the default theme to make sure it wasn't theme related and it shows there also. I tested my theme on another site of mine that is already on 4.2.5 before I upgraded this one. It's driving me crazy, is there sidebar setting I'm missing somewhere? I'm about to look at the database to see if there are some rogue blocks listed and not showing causing the advertisement …

As the title says, when sending an immediate notification the user gets the content of the post in the email. This means that they read the site offline and don't bother visiting. What do I edit in the template to remove the content element? Or truncate it?

Hello Forum, I am just in the phase to set up a new community and in the future, I also want to have paid memberships. The problem is that I am dealing mainly with business people. As we are based in Germany, Europe, we need a way to decide whether Reverse Charge is applicable (no Sales Tax added) or not (Sales Tax added). Is there an option in IP.Commerce or a plugin featuring this? Could not find something yet. Best Marian

I would like my current user base to follow all of my forums, calendars and download categories by default, with a notification of email daily digest. Having just purchased Commerce, I'm in the process of setting up payment methods. Of course, everyone alive today knows that PayPal is the industry standard online payment gateway, but their fees seem considerably higher than the other payment methods accepted by Commerce such as Stripe and 2Checkout. As a newcomer to this area of IPS I wanted to ask those here who have experience with different payment gateways: would it be dooming oneself not to go with PayPal, even though there are issues with Billing Agreements which (potentially) take power out of the site owner's hands?
