We have been getting lots of spam in member profiles for folks that sign up and never post. I can't seem to figure out how to set any member group restrictions to stop this. Specifically spam is in the 'about me' and 'interests' fields. Neither can be prohibited based on member group. Any thoughts? This probably affects lots of folks.

Hi, We are wondering if its possible to set up an e-mail address for IPS to read and for all messages sent to that e-mail address, generate a post in the forums for it as well as an e-mail back to the user providing the link to their post? The use case here is that we currently ingest a lot of support requests via e-mail and we end up just directing folks to post in the forum anyway. We're thinking we could reduce the steps required if e-mail itself could be used to generate a post in the forum. Is this possible?

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before or not - but how would one go about enabling/disabling fields depending on the selection of a previous field? For instance, let's say you have three fields. The first field let's you choose one of two selections in a Select Box field. You select the first selection in the Select Box Field, and the third field grey's out and/or becomes invisible/unseen. If you select the second selection in the Select Box Field, the second field grey's out and/or becomes invisible/unseen, while the third field remains visible or appears. Any ideas on how to accomplish this? One might consider this "conditional fields", as an e.g.,:…

This sounds like a bug, but I want to double check first. On my community, before 4.3 I believe the anon members were visible to admins with their names in Italic. Now it seems they are completely almost removed. What means "almost removed" you'll ask? The place for the members is there, surrounded by commas, but the name is missing. Hi there, I‘m entering my texts in Ulysses. This App can export in different formats. HTML or Markdown as example. I could install the Markup addon to the editor. But when I want to add markdown text with the editor there is no box appearing to enter something. The second question is, how can I add an image to my text? The goal is to that the text is floating around the inserted image. Not attached anywhere or as image in the header.

Is there any way to "protect" code snippets inserted into pages via the text editor? It seems the editor does not like Google asynchronous code snippets. They paste in fine and work, but then if I go back and edit the page the editor automatically wipes out half the code snippet. Simply opening the editor seems to be all it takes to wipe out the code. Mostly an annoyance but if there is an escape sequence it would make life easier.

Good Day! Need some help since Chrome is throwing out all kinds of issues with plain HTTP sites. I have two sites hosted on the cloud that use my own domain name. Hello, I help administer an ~300 person discussion group. We were previously using Yahoo Groups and are now migrating to Invision. Invision promises to be a much better experience. However, most of our members interacted with the Yahoo Group via daily digest emails. I know it is possible for each Invision user to set up daily digests for each individual forum they are interested in, but if at all possible, I would like to be able to override the default notification settings for all users so they are subscribed to all forums (daily digest) by default. That would mimic the behavior of the Yahoo group, and make sure our members are comfortable as we move to the ne…

I successfully migrated a vB forum to IPB about a month ago and after a few server tweaks, it is running really well. Members are happy and, in general, everything is pretty fast. However, one action remains painfully slow. When a moderator/admin approves a post in the approval queue, it can take up to 30 seconds for the action to complete and the page to refresh. Considering everything else is pretty quick, this seems very odd. Any idea why this is happening?

I am trying to set up the PayPal Gateway and the developer page it takes me to only gives me Live Account, Access Token, and Expiry Date info, but the IPB Payment area is asking for the Client ID & Secret. None of this is provided on the PayPal developer page the IPB link refers me to. Please help? How can I get a weather widget into my sidebar? (please see Note: at bottom) I'd like to get weather shown in a block on my sidebars. Does anyone have a tutorial or similar? It doesn't have to be a purpose built Weather Widget. It could be using a simple customizable "widget" addon and injecting some weather code into it? etc? Appreciate any guidance. Note: This addon is noted as outdated & broken. You're directed to this follow-up addon, not labeled as broken, so I bought it. After I bought it, well, you can read my feedback. So $10 out of my pocket and zero functionality to show for it.
