Pop-up calenders already exist in the advanced fields of the search mechanism. It would be nice if they existed in the ACP as well, and when creating a new calendar event, and other places in IPB that require date input.

I'm new to IPB and I've looked over the logs and statistics center in the ACP but they are lacking more granular reporting abilities. When I click on registrations I want to click on the registrations for that day...let's say there were 5, and then see the 5 members listed that registered for that day. I should be able to click on that member's name and be taken to their member info in the ACP (which already exists). When I click on new Topics for the day, again..same scenario, I should click on that number and be taken to a list of those topics and see who started them...etc I want to see who has visited the site today...how many, click and list their usernames, ti…

So I had this idea. Install a forum, put some real data on it (ie, not just a few posts saying "this is a post", but the members can be fake or have fake email addresses). Then backup the database, upload all the files for all the add-ons (blog, downloads, gallery, links, shoutbox, subscriptions, tracker) and some of the hooks. Then clone that folder to another folder (as a backup). Then arrange it so that someone (or a select group of people) would be in charge of the setup. Adds a list of recent topics to the board index In this list shouldn't be included topics from Trash can (or some other unwanted categories). My one admin deleted some posts and they were moved into trash can. Now I see 4 "new topics" which are actually deleted posts. It's really useless. Set up of Recent Topics hook should depends on Select the forums you don't wish to search for new posts when using either the 'get active topics' or 'view new posts' links. You may select more than one.

I've been a customer of IPB since 2004. Next month will be our 5 year anniversary. We have a large board/gallery/blog and use Parachat, as well. Throughout the five years, we have consistently received outstanding support from IPB. At this point, I can not imagine trying to run my business without them. Getting the supported solution (we have our own IPB supported server) was one of the smartest business decisions I made. I have received several requests from members who would like to be able to "brand" their posts in part by setting a user specific default font, font size, and color in the control panel. I have to admit, it's struck me as a great idea, as I try to remember to differentiate my own posts by setting the font to this look every time.

I realize that there newest member and who's online is listed at the bottom of the page, with a large forum that's kind of a pain to check every time...and it's lacking information I'd like to see. I'd like a block/hook that shows the following: 1. New users today. Maybe be able to set a limit for really busy forums. I get about 5-10 per day so no big deal to me. 2. New posts...not just the latest thread/topic like you see now but replies, etc. 3. The rest of the board stats... total users, total posts, etc Just a thought.

I was reading the Wordpress Whitepaper v1.2 at BlogSecurity.net and read some useful tips to making Wordpress more secure. My question is could/would any of these recomendations make IPB more secure? Is this where you can say what you think what IP.Board needs to improve or say some glitches! If so... The attched image is an image of 2 images. The first one is of the invision main imdex page imstently after you click the show side bar icon. and the second is the image I created with what it should loom like! It would be realy simple to sort out, just delay the image that comes after and keep it where it was! Thanks P.S. I only thought of it because it realy bugs me! lol @JacobMarshall

My users have suggested that the search system have the ability to sort by, or at least display, the rating of the topic or threads returned by the search. Ditto for the reputation and rating of the users returned in a member search.

Okay there is bbcode that can be limited to certain member groups. How about being able to limit which groups can use certain groups of emoticons? The way I imagine it being set up and working would be like this. Inside of a emoticon folder, a permissions folder can be added. In the settings, that the different member groups allowed to use those emoticons would be selected. They could use not only those emoticons but the emoticons of the parent folder as well. This would require an extra step of security too. If someone tries to link directly to the image inside of a post, if they don't have permission to use that image (emoticon), then it would deny them access …

What I would like is to be able to disable such options that compromise the security of the board, primarily sql queries and database backups, for ROOT admins. Whilst some may say that as root admin it makes sence to have all such permissions, but for some, like myself, I can control these actions server side, having it forum side is just an additional security risk. Even the most security conscience admin can fall victim of a 0day exploit, even after taking all the necessary steps to optimum security. I would like a feature added that will allow a admin to change ALL or at least most of the aspects of a member WITHOUT having to login to ACP. Its kinda annoying to have to login to ACP and then search for member when say changing username or pass.

My users would like the following things: [*]Facebook/About Me status displayed under their avatars. From an admin's standpoint it would be nice to have this truncated to an admin-defined number of letters. [*]User reputation displayed under their avatars. Along the same lines, it would be nice if admins could turn on and off what items are displayed in the user info box as a set of user-friendly switches in the ACP instead of having to much around in potentially dangerous skin files.

While the report center shows the user who last updated the status of the report in the report list view, it doesn't show who the last person to post in the report thread is, nor is there any notification of new replies. The system's a good idea, but it would be really nice if it behaved more like a forum.

I've been trying a number of different methods to create a hook that uses post specific data to no avail. Mainly due to the fact that the topicViewTemplate contains the foreach loop within the template combined with the inability of template hooks to access any data that is used within the template itself. If there is a way to do this that I'm missing I apologise. The only way currently that I can see to get post specific data is to completely duplicate the topicViewTemplate in a skinOverloader, but that would cause problems if multiple modders wanted to use hooks in different sections of the topicViewTemplate, one skinOverloader would overwrite another.
