Many sites have RSS feeds that pull from other sites into 1+ forums on their own in order to provide quick access to news. This is a big distraction when using the "Recently Added Topics" hook, because it floods it so fast that you are unable to view any by your own members. Could it be given exclusion settings in 3.1; so we can choose Member IDs/Groups / Forum IDs that can be excluded from the output?

I don't often post feedback, but I feel I owe it to the staff at Invision Power to let you know what a great product range you have. I have IP.Board, Blog, Gallery, Content, Downloads and they are all remarkable products. I also congratulate you on your general attitude, which is polite and professional, and also on the amount of updates you lot churn out. IP.Board 3.1 looks set to be a great update, as does IP.Content 2. The only one suggestion I have, is that you please improve the navigation bar. Sub Menus would be great, as would improved re-ordering. I'm sure others would agree with that. Other than that, you have supplied us with a perfect product. Keep it up, …

This is of course purely subjective, and I am sure things are they way they are for a reason, however I thought I would throw out my thoughts regarding the layout and accessibility of the modifications area mainly because I find the area a bit disjointed and a little unclear to navigate. AFAIK to get to the "mods" area, one clicks Resources -> Community Resources -> Download (which is in the right sidebar). I think it would give more visibility to the area to have an actual tab or other top level navigation for "mods" or "addons" or something else that signifies the area to browse and download modifications. Right now, its too buried in community resources. Li…

Recently, using V2.3.6, we have been hit with a large number of spammers sending PMs or emails to our members including like to inappropriate sites and or graphic images. - I dont know is v3 would help but it would be nice to be able restrict new members from being able to create hotlinked images and urls as well as prevent them from sending PMs. Until they have a number of posts behind them say. Im quite new to running a forum and keen for anyones suggestions for how this could be done better, however im hesitant to put new users on moderator approval for posts due to the delay in the post appearing and the increased moderator work load. This is an example of the …

mentioned this service being used by tweetfeed in another thread after looking at it all a bit deeper, was wondering can invision take advantage of this service or method either by providing a similar service in future(ideally) or by forums using the actual rpxnow service ? https://rpxnow.com

I just wanted to say that I am completely satisfied with IPB, and nothing else is needed. Thanks! :P

I know wordpress does this and ipb is a totaly diffrent system and might not beable tobe done, but thought it would be cool if we could choose in our acp to upgrade our site if theres a upgrade avalible and it would requires us use our login like the normal upgrade does but it will go to ips and download the files to our server insted of having to download them and upload them ourselfs ( i know some people upload is not so great) was just an idea, not sure if its a good one or if its been menrtioned before, so just thought id throw it out there :)

I have a topic that has been merged with another topic. When i merged them, I wanted the 1st topics post at the top of the new one. I went to "move post" at the bottom but it wants me to select a post to move. From this there are two things. 1) Will this allow me to move the post to the top? 2) If not, how do I go about doing this. In a way I want to pin the post. The only problem I can see is that the Posts before the one I want at the top, are all created before the post was put up. I am using IP.Boards 2.3.6 I really need to know how to do this asap. Thanks for reading guys :)

Based on the concept of IP.Converge, this could be useful for admins that own multiple boards or even one board but want to enhance the current methods of sending out emails from the board (either bulk or regular). IP.Mail would be a separate install that would replace the work of IP.Boards internal mail system and act as a central hub of sorts. Features: * Be able to limit how many emails to send out.. per cycle, per hour, per function * Recognize when there are duplicate emails being sent to the same email address (exact duplicate) and then delete the duplicates (so only one gets sent out). * Have the ability to run independently from the boards (would require c…

We have the ability to lock topics but how about locking comments? This would be a great feature because If a moderator has to edit a comment to remove some certain rude words, it stops the user comming back editing it and adding back the comment after a moderator has changed it.

I posted a topic with the intention of unapproving it immediately since I wasn't ready for it to be public and wasn't sure when that would be. I posted it and immediately unapproved it, but members got the email notification through watched content of the topic. It'd be nice if you added 'Unapprove Topic' to the After Posting field to where a topic is immediately unapprove when submitting it and doesn't send out watched content notifications.

Hello, I think for some time to do update to version IPB3, but... are constantly doubtful for several reasons, such as: 1. Some time watching this forum and still have not read a message from IPB to say that IPB 3.1.x if have skin clasic blue IPB 2.3.6??? Now, no longer can select this skin, in this forum. Or the skin is only visible for users with active IPB license? Not really understand too well. 2. I would like to know if IPB 3.1.x will be included Auto Birthday Message ? Best regards

First, I almost never experience downtime for my site hosted on your servers, for which I am very grateful. My experiences with this company have been overwhelmingly positive. However, when problems do occur, there is never any information released to site owners. Even just a message somewhere on the IPS site saying "server x is down for maintenance, we're aware of the problem and working on it" would save a lot of headaches, and it doesn't seem like it would take too much time or effort to do. I think it would also lower the number of support tickets you receive for problems you're already working on fixing. When my site is down, I just want to know somebody is aware…

I like the feature of being able to automatically promote members once they have posted X number of times......but I would really like it if I could choose to promote them on X number of Topics. I would rather have my members create 10 new topics, then require 25 posts. Just a suggestion :)

Logo / Header - I know this may sound weird but having a option to have a rotating header / logo and have the interface in the ACP so users would only have to turn it on or off and upload what logo / headers they want. Sliders - To be added to the top of the forum (global or not). Make the interface on the ACP side and people will only have to update the picture, text, and hyperlink to where they want people to go when the click it. Current you have to edit the skin, upload different files, then recode it to change everything. I say add this to IPC as a block and/or to the IP Board. I would say adding the first would not be much of a problem and should be fast, the se…

Now that IPB is more and more "social network" oriented -even compatible with FB- it should be great if we could mimic some of the most usefull default behaviours of FaceBook, Myspace or Twitter. IMHO, one little thing that contributed to these sites hughe success is the fact that when you register for the first time, all of the social network features and email notifications default to ON. Of course , if you dont like it, you can disable it, but for most users, theses features stay activated. As a result you receives a lot of email notifications driving you to come back again and again, until you often get totally addicted. In IPB, we already have a lot of su…

Hello. A quick suggestion for trash can. A feature to kind of "revert" the topic/post back to its original spot. This way, if for example one of our moderators deletes a bunch of topics and sends them to the trash can, we can easily move them back without having to manually move topic by topic. Please consider this.
