It'd be really awesome if we could get a hook type which is able to execute prior to any other operation - basically once the registry init is done, pass over control to any pre-execution hooks (even before ipsController::run), then carry on as if nothing happened. This would enable developers to build support for legacy applications, without index.php edits.

I continually have members inquiring about implementing a grace period for edited posts. What is meant is that when a member posts a reply or a thread and they go to edit the post/thread to add additional information, it won't show as being edited so long as they edit it within the first few minutes or so. This has been a feature of Vbulletin for the longest while and something most would like to see added to IPB, it shouldn't be too hard to add it in for the 3.1 release considering that a public beta isn't even available yet.

I'm making a green skin for my board. The generator gave me this logo: I want to keep the light green glow, but I'd like to have my own logo. Since nobody actually keeps the IPB logo, I think the skin generator should output a blank logo with the glow, instead of overlaying "IPBoard".

Currently IPB sends email to admin if new users registers. However, i have set that first user has to validate his email adress, then admin aproval. Suggestion, dont send that email before user has valitaded his email adr. Before they do, i dont need to know if theres new registers, i only need that info after they have done their part.

Would so like a feature that when you click a link that will navigate you away from the chat, that it will prompt you for confirmation. Just like when in the skin editor and a change has been detected, if you do anything to browse away or close the tab/window, it prompts you. But only for links that would navigate that tab/window, not if it opens in another tab/window.

Not sure if the sidebar box on the forums is a part of blogs or a part of IPB 3.1, but is it possible that the new post/comment indicatior could go to the first unread comment rather than the top of the blog. It works fine within the blog software itself, but not from the box on the forums. Apologies if this has been mentioned before. Thanks.

Rumor has it there's a place around here to post mod requests? If anyone can help me out as to where this should go, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. I am interested in a quote for the following mod for my forum that I host for free for a non-profit organization. I have a custom field that registerees are required to fill out on my board and I would like to be able to perform a wildcard search function on that custom field. This can be done in Admin CP but not on the board. On the actual board, IPB only lets you search from the beginning of the field. Can anybody make this and if so, how much would you guys charge? I think it might be interesting to implement a function of shortcut keyboard to access the mainfuncions, in pages where the editor is not active using the simple shortcut keyboard (only letters, and not ctrl+letters) did not overlap with those browsers.....

More control of guest permissions 1) I would like it if the sidebar could show the member photo thumbs, even if guest access into individual profiles is disabled. The forum lacks visual impact when it's simply text and default avatars. 2) Would like ability to allow guests to vote in polls, even if not allowed to post. It appears that I cannot add multiple products in IP.Subscriptions, someone tell me if I am wrong. Example: I have forum1 that talks about widgets. I charge $5 per month to access this forum - this is Package A. I have forum2 that talks about wangles. I charge $10 per month to access this forum - this is Package B. Each Package is set to upgrade to a different usergroup, because each usergroup has different privileges. One of two things happens right now. 1. I set the packages to "Can Upgrade". When logged into the client area, when "New Purchase" is clicked on, there seems to be no way to order multiple products at the same time and receive a discount (5% per additional product). Clicking on IP.Board for instance brings up the message that if a credit card is on file it will be instantly charged, but there is no way to buy the IP.Content, IP.Blogs, etc at the same time. It would be great if people that already have accounts, could purchase in the same way as unlicensed people. Just a suggestion.

I am new here and I think this is a great site with a ton of helpful people and topics. The only issue I have had so far when searching for content is ensuring that what I am searching for is compatible with my current board. For instance it would be great if somehow (Example) on the Community Downloads section if when devs uploaded files that they could select 2.X or 3.X and then users could search for only the content they are looking for. Just a friendly suggestion to help sort the library of information here. Thanks

Any chance of an option for these to be placed elsewhere? I don't have any of the sidebar hooks activated, mainly because there is nothing useful for my forum but also there wasn't an option to have it toggled off by default. I do however quite like the status updates but I'm not having a sidebar just for that. I was wondering if the can be moved into the members tab somewhere, I don't know :P

Hello, I have 12 forums which look the same (only logo and domain changes) and to improve working on them I want to switch from 12 ipb installs and 12 dbs to 1 install and 12 dbs. What I'm trying to get is one source code instead of 12 (not thinking of reducing number of licences - I still have 12 licenses ;)) What I'll try to do is: 1. Change cache and upload path so that each forum has its own. 2. Modify conf_global.php to load proper settings depending on domain. Everything else will remain the same. Do you think it would work? Maybe anyone has combined many installs in this way?

When you click on any links from the "Notification Menu", I really wish it direct to specific topic/post/status/etc rather than to Notification Page. I hates when it direct to Notification Page and then click on the topic link.. too many click!

First of all, 3.1 is looking pretty good :). The notification system is exciting, and I know that this is the first beta release, but I think it could be improved. Currently, the system seems to work like that for personal messages. You are taken to a list of notifications, and clicking on one opens a new page with more details. Personally, I think something more lightweight and less complex would be even better. Something similar to the way Facebook displays notifications would be nice. I LOVE IT! Can click on the name of the person (see their profile) who replied or can click on the words "personal conversation" and be taken directly to the conversation. A major improvement IMO.
