This is more or less a request to make functionality universal. I think that the "Edit Member" in the ACP should have a "Save" and a "Save and Reload" button doing the same as other places. Save would send you back to the member list and Save and Reload would bring you back to the Edit Member screen. It would be super helpful IMO because I sometimes like to edit many members in the same way and it gets tedious to have to "Save, Click to the member list, click next member (or) change to the correct page, repeat" Thanks in advance. ^_^

When you receive no results in search, and click Advanced, it defaults to a Help search. Can the default please stay the area that was being searched? My users click advanced to broaden the search and end up searching Help files. Thanks

I really don't know why it's not included to begin with, but why can't it be done?

The topic overview icons have no real value at this current state. When asking my users about what they actually mean, most of them can't really tell the purpose of the icons. Why not give them more value by adding the thumbnail of the topic creator like this forum software is doing it? screenshot

From 1.215.447 posts are only 2.451 posts indexed by google webmaster tools after a period of 3 years. How can this be improved?

Please tell me that your online "Articles" are not the only User Manual available to me. Please tell me that I didn't BUY a software package that doesn't come with the barest minimum of documentation.

And I have a suggestion on how it could be done. Today you can click on the amount of replies a topic have gotten and get a list of how many replies each of users who have participated in the topic has. You could simply add the possibillity to click on the number of posts a user have made in the topic - and that would lead you to just the replies that user had made in it. The url could be something like showtopic=67&fromUser=4 . This would then be quite similar to how showtopic=67&modfilter=invisible_posts works, but it would of course display a different result. This is the list like it is today: My suggestion is to make the number clickable. And it would…

I sincerely believe that IPB rep system is fine as it is - it can be set to be either public or anonymus, types of reps etc. One thing that IMO is missing is a notification when getting repped. I know Adriano made a mod for this (kudos to him!) but it would be nice if this was a part of the standard package. Not knowing for what post you got repped and having to manually sift thru your content is a bit tiresome. Hope 3.2 introduces this feature. :)

Didn't know where to put this as both gallery and blog has it aswell so I guess IP.Board since it's the central system. Anyhow. I'd just like to comment on the new like and stuff you're implementing in the next major release. First off, I LOVE the fact that you now can rep a blog entry and not only the comments. This makes much more sense and kudos to you for fixing that. I know I've been bugging you about it so cheers! Now to the more serious matters. I "dislike" the "like"-system(you see what I did there? :D) you're implementing. I think it becomes much too confusing. Let's review our current systems. We have reputation, negative and positive. We also have "watc…

It would be nice if there was a Per User option of wether to show the little popup when you click like or not. I would rather just click like and be done, without being subscribed. This way people could either just like it, or subscribe at the same time.

Ive been a IPB user since late October and I love it more and more every day. Thank you for making such a quality product. Also, Ive been around a few support forums over the past couple years and this seems to be the most down-to-earth, helpful and friendly one Ive been on. To sum it up, thanks for everything! Its awesome stuff. :D

Just had the idea would it be possible to give the ability to have users be able to delete other peoples status replies when the reply was made on their own status? Kinda like Facebook with the ability to delete things that people have said on your own wall?

Can you add calendar support to this app. Adding the current month to the sitemap would be a good start.

I saw on a forum PunBB images automatically resized to the proper size, we see nothing, everything is well done the evidence is right click then "View image" is really more large ! http://www.fightway.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2749&p=8 For example, a member sends an image via imageshack, coming from a camera in 1680x1050, on the forum it's gonna be huge it overflows. So keep the original system of IPB but improve it to open in another window when clicked, remove the black outline and especially the image is scaled immediately because the page loads and the image is in original size AND THEN resizes it !

Hi, I got a bit of a spamming issue on my forum, they create an account and make like 20 topics in a row. I think it would be nice to have a limit on how many topics you can create within a certain time-frame, like the search flood control.

IP. SEO is amazing. I have found lots of mad spiders that crawl non-stop, and been forced to slow them down. (put some commas in that output for me :P ) One bot called MJ12 crawled 8000 pages in almost 6 hours. For my small site that was unacceptable, I just banned the useragent because that bot had some bad reviews online. Next come Google, the Google Bot respects my robots.txt and crawls at a perfect rate. The same cannot be said about the Bing Bot though. It ignores any crawl-delay I've set and continue to crawl 44,000 pages in 5 days. I'll be having a word with Bing about this. As for the SEO logging. I will log for a continuous 7 days, and then I will turn it of…

Recentley we have had major issues with down time on our current hosts so we moved to a new one. I backed up the DB in PHPmyAdmin on the old host....went to the new one imported it and then uploaded the home directory back up. Everything looked fine except we now have a few problems. 1. Everytime we go to the board we are forced to log back in, even if we havent logged out. This even happens if we login and then refresh the page. 2. If we try to make a post after logging in we get the following error " [#103139] You do not have permission to view this forum " Even if we log back in it wont allow us to do anything. I have full access while in the ACP and I …

At the moment the birthday is not a required field for registration. The birthday when set is put into 3 columns in the database: day, month and year. The problem is that there is only two choices available to users: - Show age (have a date in the drop down on the profile) - Not show the age (no date available for admins to know demographics) This is a problem for us in terms of demographics. We want to know the age of our members and for this we have to add another required field on registration just for the Year of Birth. Then members see another Birthdate option on their profile. It makes little sense to me. I would argue that the Birthday drop down should be av…

I get e-mails from time-to-time from first-time users who are confused by the message This happens when they are either (1) not logged in or (2) have registered and logged in but their account has not yet been validated. On searching through this forum, I saw this same comment reported by someone else here: . I think the reason it is confusing is that "An Error Occurred" in very big bold text suggests to the reader an error/bug in the forum software, like an HTTP 500 error. Even if they do see the smaller text "You do not have permission to view this forum." it still may not be clear why they don't have permission (i.e. they are not yet validated). Furtherm…

Okay I have two new problems that I as a website administrator see cropping up everyday. Problems that can be so easily rectified by someone who knows what they're doing. 1) Double Post Prevention. Basically someone accidently double posts, (or double clicks post) they post the same post twice. Often it's by accident. Maybe there could be some kind of prevention script/hook or even built into the forums. 2) Edit button on the Mobile Skin. Often members can't edit their posts when using mobile/iPhone/etc whilst using the Mobile skin, due to a lack of an edit button. I don't know if this was an oversight, but editing posts while being on a mobile seems to be a no go …
