I'd like to suggest an option to unify avatars and user photos. Essentially, what this would do is eliminate user photos altogether, replacing every instance of a user's photo with their avatar. The user would have one picture identity: the avatar, rather than have two identities: the avatar and the user photo.

Hi! After upgrading to IPB 3 we and our users noticed that the ordering of posts when viewing all posts posted by user X had changed from how it worked in earlier versions. I originally thought the new ordering was a mistake and decided to submit a ticket about it today. The reply I got however was that the ordering worked as as intended. In our opinion the current ordering is confusing and frustrating. I'm happy to see active releases on all IP products, but can we get a chagelog, or at least slightly more detailed release notes other than "This is a maintenance release" ??? The marketplace authors do pretty well at summarizing revisions and changes, why not consider doing it for our core products? Thanks.

I'm baffled why we need two separate images? Honestly it seems like needless complexity, when I first grabbed a section of an uploaded picture and "Set As Photo" it showed up in the member info in the top right corner. I thought: "Nice!" Now I can't change that image, I've changed both Photo and Avatar and I've still got the same image up in the top right member info, is that block like perma-cached? Not sure if this is an IP.Gallery issue or IP.Board. If the "Photo" and the "Avatar" are separate... Why? It needs to be clearer to the end user IMO. James

Hello everyone, for the next major version I would appreciate a media/asset-manager that makes it easy to reuse already uploaded content, such as .pdfs, images or even videos. When clicking to attach files there should be a popup where you can choose to either upload a new file or reuse one of those you've already uploaded a while ago. There is no need to re-upload the same images all over again and therefore dump space. Lately, I've noticed a huge influx of spammers on my forum, so much so that I had to upgrade from my lifetime license which I purchased in 2005 to the new type of license to gain access to IPB's Spam Monitoring service. While the service works well and bans a majority of the spammers before they can post, I still have a huge number of spam registrations per day. I'd like to request that if a registration matches a known spammer that they be denied registration. In other words, don't even bother letting the account signup. I love IP Board, but I've always wondered why this simple feature has not been implemented. For the longest time, we've been forced to use a MOD ("T31 Group Format") to give each of our member groups different colors on our forum. This as a standard feature in PHPBB (where we migrated from), and the ability to assign a color to groups has been a staple with every other forum package I've ever used, with the exception of IP board. Can this please be implemented into a future upgrade? It's something I've had an issue with ever since moving to IPB - I find the error system unfriendly - for want of a better word "hard". For example, a member kept getting a red error when trying to send a PM and the error simply said "Array". That's it - just "Array". It turns out he was trying to send to more than the 5 allowed recipients, but "Array" is just not useful or helpful in telling the end user what the problem is. My members aren't IT geeks and it would be great if an "end user" custom text could be added to error reports so us admins could give them a clue or flower-up/soften the error reports a bit. I have had a ip forum for about 8 years.... maybe only 6 years... since 2005. Always liked the customer service... that is why we use it isn't it instead of some open source forum like phpbb? I moved my website to a new server last night. Transfered forum data bases over. Forum doesn't work. I want to upgrade to newest version. I have put in tickets and paid for IP to move to new host. Hello, I'm running the 3.1.2 version for the forum, I didn't upgraded my forum since august. Same way for the apps (IP.Content, IP.Gallery, IB.Board, IP.Download), no upgrade since august. I've never noticed this before, but here we go... At the bottom of each email notification we can see this: Isn't it old fashioned way (pre 3.x), when we really had to go there and dig through all our subscriptions? Don't we have "Stop watching topic" button now, which is (finally) much easier to use? I'd like to also know, where is that wording located, so I can change it myself before any board update does it.

I know the topic has been brought up before, but I didn't want to 'necro' threads that are over half a year old. Instead, I'll add some points as to why I see this functionality a necessity, in a point-by-point break down. Using AJAX to add "Fast Reply" to topics More and more, the web is becoming less of a requirement to have a 'new page load' thanks to AJAX. While there's definitely some aspects that could make it seem like too much (especially on load, depending on how it's used of course), there are areas that should start making this conventional due to usability needs.
