Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
February 10, 201114 yr Try just PM'ing a staff member next time instead of making a public topic about it?
February 11, 201114 yr Is that your Facebook or Twitter avatar? If so, it's a bug that you can't remove it.
February 11, 201114 yr There's not even an option in IPB to revoke an individual member's ability to change their avatar ;)
February 11, 201114 yr As far as I am aware, no one has removed your avatar changing ability (as Mark pointed out, you cannot do this at an individual member level anyways). If you imported a Twitter avatar, there is a bug that is likely preventing you from changing your avatar.
February 11, 201114 yr Author I upload an avatar, it shows in the panel where you edit or remove avatars. View the forum and it shows the old one even when I switch to browsers I don't even use. Account isn't connected to my Twitter. My current avatar is my Gravatar, but that's the only time I can change it, so it's either my old one or my Gravatar.
February 12, 201114 yr Gravatar.... that rings a bell. Yup, thought so. http://community.invisionpower.com/tracker/issue-24819-cant-remove-gravatar/
February 12, 201114 yr Author Yes, but when I upload a new avatar it'll show the previous one. Works fine on my forum.
February 12, 201114 yr What are you trying to change it to (like a link o the image). Are you positive you aren't changing the profile picture?
February 12, 201114 yr Author ?_time=1297476644 Is what shows in my avatar setting page, but is not the avatar that shows on my end which I just tried to change right now.
February 12, 201114 yr Author Someone from IPS is screwing with my account and is getting a laugh from this.
February 12, 201114 yr Someone from IPS is screwing with my account and is getting a laugh from this. Yes, I'm sure they have nothing better to do than screw with your account so they can laugh at you. Or, putting aside the tin-foil hat conspiracy theory for a moment, it could be a bug. Perhaps even one of the 3 or so quoted at you already.
February 13, 201114 yr Actually, I'd hazard a guess that it's our CDN, which quite vigorously caches images, etc. on our forums. It can take a day or two for such changes to be picked up in certain circumstances. We do indeed have better things to do than mess around with customer accounts. :)
