What's the easiest way to do a clean upgrade of your site? As in bring all photos etc... But not the 3rd party 3.4.7 apps?

Hey guys, I don't get it. How can I change the color of the "header" in IPS 4.0? It's easy with the wizard but I have to do it via "custom.css" because I want to set an image. header{ background:whatever; } does not work. Thanks for your help!

Question of curiosity.... why is the News & Information forum littered with posts that have broken links and broken images? Nearly everything you click on regarding Version 4.0 has issues. The dev site is dead, all the attached images are broken in the posts, etc. What gives? Seems a little unprofessional?

Has anyone had success with updating an existing forum from 3.4.7 to 4.0 Beta 2? I get tons of errors. First when converting members. We have 344,000 members and it would die with "An error occurred Location: Step 1. Application Core" about every 25,000 or so. I would click retry and it would start going again. Once I get through members went smoothly for a bit and then died again. These errors: Unknown column 'sys_module_admin' in 'where clause' UPDATE `ibf_core_modules` SET `sys_module_area`=? The site seems to show there was an update friday 21, I am trying to find what is the install version I have and its nowhere to be found in the ACP unless it is very well hidden. Shouldn t the version number be shown on the dashboard?

I know this is more a "Forum" option that can be set by the admin. but what if we don't have the need for a Q & A section on our community but we still want to have the "Best Answer" ability? are we supose to base "best Answer" off likes or could we get the "Best Answer" button back with the top answer put at the top of the topic.

Many users have dark themes (maybe as many as light theme users) and for one reason or another they use the default (light) editor, it would be good imo to have a default dark colored editor from IPB. Not the moono style but IPB style. Thanks

Hello, I am trying to upgrade an IPB 3.4.7 test installation to 4b2. At a certain step on the upgrade process it asks my License Key and when I insert my license key it says below the field: "license_key_test_active". As I mentioned before this is an upgrade of a previous test install, so the test key is supposed to be active. Is there any solution or should I start fresh? But if I start fresh how could I check how a future upgrade of the live site would respond? Thank you for your help!

Just had a wee nose around at the status for the bugs in the old tracker, looks like they have nearly all been fixed, with a few still registered as confirmed and assigned to Rikki etc. A few cannot reproduce but in general pretty much they have all been addressed. Looking at the new bug tracker, that's 7 pages in length, 4 pages of pending, 3 pages fixed, 2 pages closed (that makes 9 pages btw) Looking good on the fixes being applied and stepping closer to the next Beta release or even the first RC release. Good work IPS, obviously working hard in the background. Credit when credits due.

Sorry if the answer is out there somewhere, but searching has only resulted in an increase in my confusion. I have a IP hosted site running 3.4.6, but would like a test site running 4.0. I do not see the option in my Client Area that I have seen during my searches that shows anything other than my normal site. Can someone advise if this is possible, and a nice little guide or link if it is. Ta

As above. I clicked Edit Profile from the menu that drops down from my user name at the top right but it doesn't mention signature. I've seen them used on here, so where can I change it? I think that would be a logical place to have the signature stuff - or is it in another menu somewhere and if yes, where and why? lol

Hi, I see a few comments in the tracker about BETA 2 and BETA 3 - is there anyway of telling which version we're on? I would be happy to include that in my own bug reports, but wasn't really sure where to find out (I'm talking about issues I find on here as I haven't installed IPB 4 myself). Thanks

There is an issue when you want to test LDAP auth with the Beta 2. Open "system/Login/Ldap.php" Got to the line 110 and replace this: $bind = ldap_bind( $this->ldap, 'uid=diradmin,cn=users,dc=bec,dc=local', $this->settings['server_pass'] );By this: $bind = ldap_bind( $this->ldap, $this->settings['server_user'], $this->settings['server_pass'] );

Will IPS ever consider adding a full text editor for mobile devices? People post ad's in forums on my site. Minimumly people need the ability to change the font and color of the font in ad's. It would be nice to have a text color option and font option for mobile and tablet users.

I've seen on another IP.B installation users are able to insert part of a blog post in to their forum reply. Is this possible as standard on 4.0 (i.e.: i've looked and perhaps i'm daft and just missed it?)

Ok at moment pages is not beening provided with extra tools example in content we had extra files that would allow us to use page outside the forum root folder so www.domain.com = pages www.domain.com/forum = forum now understand might little different because forum is now on its own but sure we can get simple index.php allow the end user custom it so have pages and download and does same example above.
