hello, i did not have the time to play with the new pages release but i think now we have the option to export import DB and template i use the ip.content alot and work in my localhost but when come to transfer my work to my live site that need custom app to do so do we also have option to update existing DB and Template with exported file from my localhost ? like version control if i start adding things to my localhost installed ip.pages and need to update my live site with new changes is it easy in the new ip.pages app ?

When a guest attempts to view a post, they should be presented with the login screen (as per the forum view setting). Any special tips/tricks I should know about? I am going to finally dive in(Maybe tonight) and I want to make sure I make it as smooth an upgrade as possible. I do know I probably should disable all my hooks and apps, correct and revert back to the default IPB theme?

Hi, I would like to know how I can manage the Search... For example here if I want to make a search I go to the space to make the search and then I write what I want to search but I manually must select where do I want to make the search FilesTopicsImagesEvents.....But if I don't indicate anything it makes de Search in "All Content" instead the place where you are in that moment... in v3.4.7 if I'm browsing forums and I make a Search by Default it makes the Search in Forums, but now by default it makes the Search in "All Content"... How can I change the default to the place where I am in that moment to make the Search ???? Thanks

Well, since 2007 I've been running freewarebb.com because I couldn't find a decent bloody download portal that would give me simple freeware without all the crap we see nowadays, whether it's bundled adware or installers with everything, so I set up my own forum and before long was using IPDownloads, Blogs, Content, etc, etc and our site was making a pretty decent dent in the world of downloads. As far as I am aware, FreewareBB is the only dedicated download site run entirely using IPB software!. Unfortunately, with a major release from IPB we lost all our URL's due to a third party hook becoming outdated and we never really recovered if I'm honest. I don't blame IP…

Hey IPS Dev/Staff: May I suggest you add a link to the bug tracker in the announcement here: http://community.invisionpower.com/announcement/31-ips-community-suite-40/ All you have to do is add a link to the words "bug tracker." It would be easier for people to find the bug tracker than having to hunt for it by checking the innocuous navigation tab that says 'IPS4 resources.' Brian

I'd like to suggest an option to make forum search results expandable per topic in 4.0. Currently when we do a search, all topics and responses are listed together and there are potentially dozens of post entries for each topic. Most times you can tell by the topic title if it's not what you're looking for, but still need to scroll through all the results for that topic. It would be ideal if responses were grouped by topic -- maybe with an arrow icon that allowed the user to expand results for that topic if it was a good match.

Right 4.0.x is beta correct and i understand that really do but idea beta is test the software to find bugs correct ? so why does IPS hide scripts like simple change in base url from the beta testing ? i starting work out why i even here any more ? many bugs return back work fine on Fresh install really that nice i am glad got working on fresh version but does that solve when customer upgrade from 3.4.7 to 4.0.x stable answer no. Then i going start this off again been answered in many topic but i still see IPS holding back with official statement on lifetime license, i will quote your term on this This will give you a perpetual license to use Invision Power Board for one…

First of all on looking at the Beta I notice that the Articles page no longer seems to come with demo data on first install which although is not critical it does give newbies an idea of where things go and what it can look like. The other thing is previously there were a number of Article Templates such as the 1x3x3 one etc. They seem to be no longer included and the only templates I can seem to find are the default database layout and the blog layout which if I am being honest look a bit rubbish for a CMS. Will the the other layouts be added back in a later Beta? Ta.

Okay, so I created a test install to demo IPS4 (fresh install, no existing data). Now, the problem I'm having is that the ACP login form posts to /admin/?sessiondata instead of /admin/index.php?sessionndata. This is in turn causing a redirect on that page, and the POST data seems to get discarded. I've tried editing the form via inspect element in chrome, and changing the URL, and it works fine. Anyone else had this problem, or know how I could possibly fix it permanently?

The All activity feed shows a long list and it sort of worrying on the easy just seeing a list. Maybe other than making the main categories bold add a light grey to it to help offset the look of black and white. Zak

Hello there everyone, I am here on behalf of a friend of mine who just recently purchased the IPBoard software. When he purchased the forum software he was doing it under a temporary sub-domain which is being provided to us by NFO servers. We were using that temporarily until we decided on a domain name to clear. So now we have the new domain name and transferred the DNS over to our host (NFO Servers). We have two domains pointing to the same /public folder where the ipboard files are (http://rustafied.hosted.nfoservers.com/ and http://rustaforums.com) My question is how do we change the primary domain from http://rustafied.hosted.nfoservers.com/ to http://rustaforums…

It seems in the code that there are going to be some options around relational fields for forms. Please consider changing the spinner gifs to font-awesome spinners. This would help skinning tremendously for several reasons. As you know IPB you can - Adjust Font Awesome Sizes - Easily change colors - No time consuming creation of images and animating them - Just add a spin tag to make any icon spin <i class="fa fa-spinner fa-spin"></i> - No ugly background outline when making a simple background color change - they have excellent choices in spinners And much more. Please consider this either for this version or one after release. Thank you

May not be to everyones taste but the current badge position at the end of the topic title, looks very messy (to me anyway) I think this looks better at the beginning of the topic title. Here in this forum you can link / mention other users with @[USERNAME]. In my testinstall the @ command is without function, the userlist does not appear. Is there a setting i have to edit before I can use it? I clicked myself through the AdminCP but I can't find a setting for this. Bugtracker and a Search in this forum was without any result, but maybe i missed a thread.

I was about to post about issue with no drop down on tags. But it is behaving strange on FF for Ubuntu. When I started topic, I could enter only heading. Not able to enter tags or content. When I clicked submit button, it opened these areas with warning that these are required. If I remember correctly, I reported this issue on Maxthon even before the community was moved to IPB 4. I assumed that it is ok now. Sadly not

I just noticed this when typing a post in the V4 section but the editor (default) does not have a scroll. This means if you want to use the menu for the editor to add a link, change the font, make something bold and it's a fairly long post (which can be the case on our site) - you need to scroll the entire page up, remembering to have highlighted the text that you want to edit, change it (by making it bold, or adding a link). Then scroll the entire page back down again and then start adding text etc and if you want to to do the same again, then you need to repeat the process. The editor really needs a scroll option to be included - it's so much friendlier to the end user.
