Hello, i am configure a ips4 test install with webserver lighty but i have a small problem with some url: Pages: http://178.62.0.31/beta/index.php?/articles.html/ but it must be http://178.62.0.31/beta/articles.html (only on "primary" menù this happens) actual my lighttpd.conf is: #$HTTP["url"] =~ "^/beta($|/)" { work only lighttpd >= v1.4.34 url.rewrite-if-not-file = ( "^beta.*$" => "beta/index.php", "^beta/admin.*$" => "beta/admin/index.php", ) #} #FIX FOR CALENDAR, ALSO PAGES server.error-handler-404 = "/beta/index.php" anyone could help me with this conf? solved on step 1-2 with "Get Support" on ACP

So there seems to be many (myself included) having issues upgrading a test copy of their sites the - and the only instructions is to "fix your paths" which I have done several times but still the system fails to upgrade. Is it possible to have an advanced option in the UPGRADE system that will display all the paths from the source and target and allow you to modify it during the upgrade - so it can do whatever cache rebuilding that needs to happen so that the upgrade can actually proceed?

It could be pilot error, but I had some problems with templates after upgrading to Beta 6. I was in "Designers Mode" before the upgrade. After the upgrade, templates I had added where missing. They still existed in the Themes folder, but I had to copy then to the application's dev folder to fix the site. After the upgrade, the Admin CP said that Designer's Mode was off and if I try enable it now, it goes through the process, but the mode is still off (not enabled) after it finishes. I'm not sure how to get things back in sync. Edit: I see that someone else has mentioned this problem in the comments to a Bug Tracker report ([Beta 6] Designer Mode does not work). -- Roger

When I set Forums as default app it behaves as excepted: whether I type in my domain name, click the logo or the forum tab in the main menu, I always end up in the forums and the URL in the browser will show mydomain.com. This is not the case however when I set the suite to use pages as default app. Then I get two different results: The domain and the logo get me to mydomain.com and show my Pages page. When I click the menu link however, I get to mydomain.com/my-page-name. So I have two different urls with identical content. Not so good for search engines and the users. Is there a way around this?

Hello all, I've just installed the beta 6, and I can't login to my community. I've no error, but i'm redirected to the index with being logged. If i type a wrong password, I got an error (normal). I tried the "ajax" login and the login page too. I can login myself on the admin board. This is strange because I can't login to the invisionpower community, but if go to the client area, log me in and go back to the community, i'm now logged. Regards

I have some problems with the Font Awesome Icons after Upgrade from 3.4.7 to current beta5 Steps: 1. Copy all existing ipb3 files to testlocation beta.domain.com 2.Copy ipb3 datebase to a new one 3. edit conf_glo0bal.php (SQL Settings to the new ones and url to beta.domain.com) 4. delete custom Language file 4. Upload the full IPB4 Package (alle expect Blogand Nexus) from Customer Area to the beta. location and overwrite existing files. 5. Start Upgrade (all fine no errors etc.) System Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS with Plesk 12.0.18 Update #32 / 5.5.40-0ubuntu0.14.04.1 and 5.5.9+dfsg-1ubuntu4.5 httpd 2.4.7-1ubuntu4.1

Hey guys, So this is probably a dumb question, but when the RC versions start rolling out, can I use it on my production site and are they considered "fully supported" by the IP staff? Or would I still need to wait for the final "gold" version? Thanks for the help!

Yesterday I upgraded a test site from 3.4.7 to IPS 4 beta 6. I encountered a few issues but before I start raising bugs I want to see if I have made any novice mistakes that could have been the cause. Installed IP.Board Gallery Nexus Procedure 1. Duplicate files in a test folder. 2. Edit global_conf.php to reflect the new path. 3. Uploaded a copy of my live DB to a test DB. 4. Edit global_conf.php to reflect the new database. 5. Accessed the ACP on the test site and updated the paths for uploads and for Gallery. 6. Deleted all old files from the test folder except global_conf.php and the uploads folder. 7. Uploaded IPS4 files to the test folder. 8. Ran the upgrader. …

Hi, I have new managed VPS and I can't upload language. I have this message: EX2 Something went wrong. Please try again. Does anyone know what config on server could fix it? On my other VPS is everything fine. Also on this new VPS recaptcha and login (facebook, microsoft,....) did not work. VPS provider found that arg_separator.output and arg_separator.input had wrong config and fixed it - if someone has the similar issue. Thank you for your help.

into bug tracker could be useful track how many bug are solved between release but also have a "average" by day/week/month to compare the progress. "History" with a graph having 2 lines: 1. new bugs (optional for me) 2. solved bugs (only marked fixed, not consider closed) block it with a step default last week(?) and start-end date for range... thanks for this, a way to keep a idea of your awesome work and who contribute on this

Hey guys, So I was messing with the block manager in IP Board 4.0 and, when adding the latest articles and latest blog posts, realized something: why isn't there an option to display the thumbnail image of the article instead of the author picture? The reason I bring this up is because, traditionally, sites like Wordpress display the main thumbnail image as the focal point, not the author's photo. While I do like the author's photo being displayed in some circumstances, I prefer the main image to display as a thumbnail in the side bar instead. Does anyone know if this will be possible or is already possible? Thanks for your help!

Perhaps this is there but I can't find it! I would find it amazing if I could just Mass notify my members of something. Not force them to follow forums or members or anything like that but be able to (and to allow my staff to) enter a "status" type message, choose the groups it goes to and send and it adds a custom notification to their list! This would negate my need to Mass PM and mitigate my need to Bulk mail members if I could do the notify thing. It makes announcing new things/events easy and fun!!

My favorite, favorite, favorite feature of IPB since 3.0 has been notifications. The only problem is I find them lacking. Now, in the new version it appears that it may be a bit better because it will now notify mods when there is pending content (YOU HAS NO IDEA HOW HAPPY THIS MAKES A MORRPANDA) but there is no way for administrators to get members to follow proper content. Like with people that I follow it's a blanket follow option. I would love the addition into forums that you can pick and choose which forums are auto-followed (for example an announcements forum and a challenges forum) or blogs (like Staff blogs) or galleries. I'm not overly concerned about the rest b…

Hi there, It would be very interesting to have a feature that links specific words in forum posts to specified URLs. For instance, on a forum about cars, the forum owner may like to have an automatic link on the word "Mercedes", linked to its own content page about this car. I think it may be useful for the community, and for SEO purpose as well. I want to create an email account for myname@mysite.com. I normally do this from my host's CPANEL (1&1 Hosting), but since I am using the name servers for IPS, anything I setup at 1&1 will not work. How do I create various email addresses and/or accounts for my website domain like admin@mystie.com, service@mysite.com, donations@mysite.com???

On mobile (yes, some of us use that these days ) it's quite frustrating how long a users signature can be, for example in my attached screenshot a single signature takes up one full screen on an iPhone 6. Could IPS turn on some kind of limiter if that's in v4? Or maybe you could have them go in to a collapsed div once they are more than 5 lines long? This would be primarily for the benefit of us mobile users

The "Drag files here to attach ...." area at the bottom left is missing from the editors in my beta installation ("Insert other media" is still there). I noticed it missing before I upgraded to Beta 6 and it's still missing in Beta 6. Can anyone suggest why the ability to add attachments might be missing? I searched the settings and permissions in the Admin CP and didn't see anything applicable. I'm using the Developers Mode and I've added a couple of simple applications to the suite. Thanks. -- Roger

After enabling Memcached for caching with IPB, users will sometimes get an error like template_store_missing. Usually refreshing the page a few times fixes the problem. This is mainly in the ACP when loading a page for the first time. I wasn't sure if this would be considered a "bug", but there are probably better ways to load new pages into Memcached.

This is either intentional, which it may be as it was pushed out live on to these forums, but on mobile there is a space and then a comma after each forum name. See attachment. If this is a, admittedly minor, display "bug" then let me know and I can file it (or presumably the IPS team can log it from this post?).
