Hi. I'm really anxious to get my hands dirty with application development, but there still seems to be a slight lack of documentation or tutorials. I have also looked into plugin development, and there is already a pretty nice piece of introductory documentation ( http://community.invisionpower.com/4docs/advanced-usage/development/plugins-r71/ ) and an awesome tutorial ( http://community.invisionpower.com/4docs/advanced-usage/development/plugins-an-example-r72/ ) to get you started. Is there anything out there that would help me? Will there be more documentation/tutorials anytime soon?

Hey guys, just noticed this today but when I post a blog entry in IP Blog 4 and include a YouTube link, the video player does not automatically get embedded. Instead, it just shows the link to the video. Both IP Pages and the forum system will automatically convert that YouTube link to an embedded video player. Any ideas on why the IP Blog 4.0 system is not doing this? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help.

I'm not reporting this as a bug since it's working as intended ... it's more a feature request. I have a tracker on my site for people to report translation errors. I don't want to have a link for it in the navigation bar since that's already crowded, so have a forum redirecting to it. Since it's an internal link I would just like to be able to enter a relative URL. However, this is not possible. That means extra work for the admin in those instances when the site is relocated, such as when going from testing to live, or after changing the domain name. I am loving the plugin system, but I would like some more information on how the updating and versioning of plugins work. When I create a new plugin I have the option to define an 'Update Check URL'. I would like to know what exactly this URL is supposed to point to, and how IPB interacts with whatever lies at the URL. I'm a big, big fan of the internationalisation features that the IPS team have worked hard to incorporate. I love that I can have language-specific forums, categories and descriptions, and that the default one carries if I don't want to enter anything in the second language. The only piece of the pie missing is being able to make optional language-specific posts. I'm well aware that the answer to this is likely to be "no, not possible" for a variety of practical reasons, but I wondered whether it might be possible to work a way around with a language string or something (which I doubt, since I assume it's not possible to enter parsable code in a post). Hi IPS team, After months and months of looking at the new IPS Suite, I finally installed the Beta 6 on a test server. Until now, I had only tested the Suite on the Invision preview site and then these current IPS forums. I must say I didn't install a beta version until now, because I had too much work, and I didn't want to spoil the surprise… So, I did a fresh install for testing purpose, and I just have one thing to say: my jaws just dropped on the floor. For a while I've been waiting for more news in the announcements forum listed at the top when looking on mobile. Today I discovered that @Charles has been posting many new announcements but they are appearing at the bottom of the page instead? Bit odd to have it this way? Why are there 2 places for announcements now? Both appear to be called News & Announcements? Top = old Bottom = new!

Hey guys, Instead of using the white silhouette with the gray background, I would like to add my own default profile photo as well as provide a default cover photo for users who decide not to upload their own. Does anyone know how you'd go about calling a custom field value from a database in Pages? I want to display data on a page from my database, but I have no idea on how to do it aside from using a template – which won't work in the way I need it to.

Hello, I'm helping getting our board updated from 3.4.7 to 4.0 and one of the things that I can't find in 4.0 is how to edit the signature page for the User Control Panel For example, in 3.4.7 i was able to load the AdminCP then goto Look & Feel > Manage Skin Sets & Templates > Manage Templates in IP.Board Scroll down to User Control Panel select memberSignatureForm and edit this page to include custom php and links. However when i load 4.0's admin cp Then Pages -> Templates The signature page is no longer available. Is there some documentation or something on where I might be able to find where to modify this form? Thanks for your time,

I just see this new feature and it seems to be awesome, I'm not sure if the new system have this ability or not, but it would be great if users can see what projects we have done and what project we're working on.

Hi, I am new to the Admin level of a newly installed IPB suite. I have moderated a previous version, and I am getting the hang of it. I have set up all the forums and permissions within them, but every single new topic that is started in any forum is going straight to moderation. Even admins starting topics get the message "This post will need approval from a moderator before it is shown" and there is no way we want the board set up this way. I went into each forum and edited the portable settings and put moderation to no. I can't find any explanation for this in the documentation guides and we are getting ready to launch the site. Please help a newb.

I haven't even tested v4.0 but this problem is frustratingly common in v3.4.7: Please offer feature parity and similar layout in the ACP across all apps. For example: Overview, Settings, Statistics, and Tools all in the same order Same text and order of features in settingsSame Advanced table tools and category options

Please forgive me, as I'm sure this is a stupid question, but I couldn't find the right combo of search terms either on Google or here. Previously, you could write a block of PHP by enclosing it in <php></php> tags, but now that doesn't seem to be the case, as it just spits out an HTML-commented copy of your code. What am I missing?

I recently did a fresh install of the new beta, and found some bugs. I poked around on the bug tracker, and found that since I have installed my version, some of the bugs had been fixed ( link to one of the bugs that have been fixed: http://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/beta6-show-as-thumbnails-r2103/ ) . I now wish to also get these fixes to be reflected on my system. I have already tried mysite.com/admin/upgrade, but I get the following message: 'There are no applications available to upgrade'. Hi, I want to pay the community and, in the first order, the development team attention that the 4.0 looks has issues with the performance, comparing to previous versions. I did these tests to make sure if I will upgrade to 4.0 my production, this will not require any efforts and investments for my current hosting. BTW, currently I'm using 2.1.7 and it's time to move forward. What I did, I run 10 instances of the Chrome, as used an auto refresh plugin, with schedule every 10 seconds.
