What's the point of showing blogs without any entries? I would imagine that they should be only visible to the Blog owner until entries are published.

Is there comparison somewhere between 3.4 and 4.0? What i'm looking for some major feature differences. I know there is new responsive design and post editor. But i don't think these are the only things for better user experience of new ipb 4.

I'm trying to install a second instance of the suite (in a password protected "test" directory) for testing and development (rather than doing this on a live site). When I enter my license number, it tells me I already have an installation with this license and won't let me continue. Should this directory be named something else to recognize it's a testing install? How should I proceed?

OK, my RC 2 fresh install has all the same issues of the upgrade I did from 3.4.7. My test forum have none of these issues. My test forum was a beta install with each release upgraded to the current 4.0 RC2. Here are the issue with my current install. (These are the ones I know of, there may be more) Email not working Smilies not working Sidebar not working cannot login with iPad My question is this, do you think that I could eliminate these issue but deleting the forum and then installing the first beta and doing all the upgrades to RC2? As far as I know that is the only difference in the installs.

I have been wondering this since the first beta. When you grab a download from the client area you get a .zip file not a .tar What are those .tars coming from and more importantly if you delete an application how do you re install it when the upload/install option only seems to accept tars?

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to @Rhett for fixing the connection issue I had with the callback to the licence server, after changing the url for my test install of V4 the main site wasn't able to call back to invision. Several checks done but Rhett found the problem at IPS's end and the issue is resolved. This is why I choose IPS above others, the service is just smiles better.

I would submit this as a bug report, but as far as I can see you have to be logged into a client account to do that. I am unable to edit my profile cover picture on this site - when I click "Cover photo", I get the error "TypeError: appendTo is undefined" logged to the dev console from root_framework.js:1046:34. I am able to reproduce this issue in Firefox (37a2) and Chrome (40).

As far as I can see, there doesn't appear to be any way to mute notifications of comments on a status update that you started or commented on, apart from globally disabling follow notifications (not just status update notifications, all followed content). This is something that a number of users on a site that I moderate have complained about, and I was hoping that issues like this would have been resolved in the process of completely rewriting the forum, but apparently not. Please, please add an option to follow and unfollow particular status updates so that you can learn about new replies if you are interested without needing to post a comment (this might be more useful…

I was messing around on purpose to see what damages could be done and I deleted Pages but instead the system gave me this Now I can t reinstall pages and that _app_cms thing is locking reinstalling it so I would like to reinstall but I have 100.000 test members in the database What is the best way? Reuploading all the files does nothing and the issue seems to be within the database somewhere I submitted a bug but I wonder if anybody has a quick idea on how to reinstall and keep your records?

Greetings, Wow - IPS 4 is going to be great! One of the most significant improvements is the cross-component activity feed, which glues everything together in a modern and social way. It is exactly what members would expect in todays social media-oriented world. While site-wide activity has been merged, status updates seems a bit excluded. They can only be seen through individual feeds, individual blocks, and individual pages. I think status updates are activities, too, and they deserve to be handled the same way. Not sure if this is a bug or not but i tried to login to IPS using my 'Display Name' and it kept telling me the account didn't exist. I then used the email with the same password and it let me in. Wasn't sure if i should report this or not

Could anyone share with me how to strip the $label field out of {$record->customFieldDisplayByKey('my_key')|raw} ? My template key is {$record->customFieldDisplayByKey('location_name')|raw} which outputs "Location Name: Location1" $label being Location Name $value being Location1 I would like the output of {$record->customFieldDisplayByKey('location_name')|raw} to be simply "Location1"

Hi, I have been wondering if there is an option to mass delete posts i.e I have unapproved a members posts in past 24 hrs and he posted nearly 200 posts in different sections/topics. Its kind of time taking to go to each topic and delete the unapproved posts. If I don't delete the unapproved posts, it shows up this red tag below sections showing 30 unapproved posts etc. which is annoying to see everyday. Thanks

If I want to show a customizable feed for a certain forum like a city forum for example, the feed does not have any means to show what it is for or from? You just get a Topics or Posts title Shouldn t there be an input field while customizing the feed that allows you to put a title of exactly what that feed is?

The sidebar works on my test forum, but does not work on the forum I upgraded from 3.4. I have moved stuff over to the areas, but they do not show and if you put more than one, it stacks them on top of each other.

I need members to be able to have the same display name as some have the same real name, I set the login to use emails to log in not display name but I can t seem to find where you can allow same display names...is that even possible and if not what do you recommend?
