as per reported here: I was told to post this in the feedback section anyways, I've had two occasions where a malicious users abused this, they spammed thousands of emoticons/images and the page wouldn't even load anymore, gave some timeout error, obviously I couldn't even load the page to delete the post or ban the user it ended up crashing tables and needed to be manually fixed...

There used to one paid mode for HIDE The feature was such whatever is in Hide code, one can only see once he reply to the post.. I really need for my board..... .... Unless I am missing something, it seems you can only have 1 outcome Can block desired word in URL.. but href link will still work Can block href link but full language will be displayed. This is frustrating especially since neither URL filter or profanity blocker will work retroactively. I need both the url and the words in the url to be blocked. Example: www.DirtyWord.com Suppose I block "DirtyWord" using my profanity filter and replace it with "****". Why have searching in private messages if it just gives the result in conversation form and when you click it, it goes to the front page, not to anywhere with the searched term? I have a conversation that is exactly 150 pages long on here and there is no way to quickly find anything in it, due to this.

I appreciate all of this, great work ... But, please, extend gravatar also for guest with "require mail" - all blog / comment system require a mail address for comment by guest! ... All except ipb then, if a guest make a comment is impossible to use avatar (gravatar or from default set), subscribe for reply, and - from pages - if I'm not in error I cannot edit this comments. this need to be improved! thanks, S.N.

I like the newest format, but the performance is too slow. Not all the time, but a lot of the time. Sometimes it performs well, sometimes not. Often specific actions such as posting a new thread or editing a topic are particularly slow. Sometimes when I try to load the site it takes forever. Other times it is fine. This is very specific to 4.x and never occurred until we just upgraded. Edit: probably should have posted this under product feeback, feel free to move there.

If you search topics (or other content) there is no way to view as a list of topics (content item), it is all posts, so you may see 30 posts from one topic, so it makes finding individual topics hard. What is result #31 in a post listing may be result #2 in a topic listing. 3.4 has this as: Display results [ ]As posts [ ]As a topic list Streams has it as "Content items only." Something similar to the stream setting should be added to work with the way seach works now in 4.1. This would be very beneficial to search. Thanks

If you make few clicks on a refresh button very quickly, all these clicks would be saved. For example, you refresh the page 10 times in a row, but the page actually has only one chance to show you the advertisement block (on the last 10th refresh). My forum has about 50,000 views per day (Google Analytics), but in the ACP I see over 300,000 ad views (on the one position of course). The difference is huge, and you can't rely on this statistics at all. One more thing. If you sell advertisement by views (CPM) on your forum, it looks like cheating for your Advertisers, because nobody knows, how much times people actually have seen the ads.

Hello. We have highly customized version of IPB 3.4.6. Many system features were rewritten to suit our needs. To the point where 3.4.6 is not any more desirable to convert to the version 4.x (or probably impossible). But we still want to update forums to 4.x, we know that our features will be lost. But we will rewrite them to be compatible with 4.x engine. We installed version 4.1.7 and we like it. Question: Is there some tool that can help us to migrate database from our live forums (which are on 3.4.6) to the new ones (which are on 4.1.7 version)?

I know you can switch in the theme settings which side the menu is for mobile users but I think it would be a cool feature if it could be a per user setting for left and right handed people alike.

Currently a number of clicks can be counted only if you upload image banner. It would be great, if IPS developers add a placeholder for custom HTML advertisement codes, which allow to count clicks. So an admin can use it like this <a href="{counter}http://advertiserswebsite.com">Click here! It's my custom advertisement!</a> After that {counter} will be replaced with some internal script URL, which counts clicks and redirects users to the real destination.

We recently ran a survey asking our users if they wanted the avatars to be rounded or if they prefer avatars to be square again. Our community was split 50%-50% on this question. Therefore, my suggestion for a future version is that this configuration to be per-user instead of global. Cheers.

It is not possible to create the custom field for the group of products. Every single product must be checked now in order that this custom field appears on the product's page. How about adding of 5000 and more products then? Is not it becoming boring?

Minor suggestion, but in the Like list where it says "and X others like this" would it be possible to hover "X others" to see the list instead of having to click it? I often find myself hovering and it would be very handy. It only makes sense, if you hover any name before the others link you get the hovercards but once you get to "others" the hover only brings up the tooltip, you have to click for the pop-up. Showing the list would be great. Thanks

I don't believe this is a bug as such so thought I'd throw it in here. If you have a board that requires posts to be approved, if the topic is on page 1, you approve the post then reply straight away, after clicking submit you will get the no posts to show error message. Whilst it's only a minor annoyance if you can hit back, copy the post and then refresh the page to then reply, other times it's a major annoyance as the post is not there if the page reloads which happens a fair amount on mobile. Automatically refresh the topic when clicking approve would solve this, if at all possible you lovely lovely developers.

At the moment, if a {resource} doesn't exist, you return an empty string. This means that the browser will try to use the html document as the resource, which obviously wouldn't work and may, in some browsers, lead to an extra HTTP request for that page, increasing server load. If instead you returned a URL that pointed to an image that displayed an error (or just something like a red square, so that it's visibly broken), at least in designer and dev modes, and which returned status code of 404, it would make it much easier to notice and debug.

Hi, in 3.4.x the member search included an option to search for members with specific secordary groups.(e.g. all members in the primary group "Mitglieder" and the secondary group "Koordinatoren") Can we have this inplemented in 4.x als well?

The recaptcha theme setting (under spam prevention) should be a theme setting, not a global setting - if you've got a dark theme and a light theme, you would want to use the dark captcha on the dark theme, and the light captcha on the light theme.

Having item counts in the category block menu has more drawbacks it seems to me than reasonable positives. When someone goes to a news site I can't imagine too many people saying, "I wonder how many articles are in this category?" It just doesn't fit to me it feels. Makes menus look and feel cluttered Could hamper how many people visit a particular section if it has a low count of articles or information for whatever type of database they are using I do however could see the need for item counts for example if someone runs a classifieds database. Not question. Suggestion. Please consider reports from contributors in the first place. There are many bugs related to plugins. 1. 3 months without answers from developers + topic 2. 3 months without answers from developers + posts from clients 3. + 4. Archived but not fixed Fixed 4.1.7. I'm on 4.1.8 and bug not fixed. 5. etc. I think we (contributors) can create buglist for you. Reports like "Not language abstracted - X" more important to you than create/install/update/delete plugins, apps, themes. Thanks

I don't know what else to call it. I know we had a dozen simultaneous events across the country, and not a single person made the gallery work on mobile. Could there be a configuration for mobile uploads that go to a 'stream' or 'now' or 'current' option? So they select nothing. Maybe call it event mode, where between 6pm and 2am, mobile gallery uploads land in the same place in the simplest possible manner. ? Just throwing this out there.

Quality of Life Improvement - QoLI Store --> Billing and Purchases If I have pay and invoice are it is in pending stage after paying the invoice the word/tag could be place maybe near the button are grey out the Pay Now button so that the user will know that payment is on file and such. The button misleads users to think that even if it says Pending in small brown letters. I think some improvement to could be done in this area so it more pronouned to the user what is what.

Hello, i'm developing new simple app that show statistics and it's difficult to use \IPS\Helpers\Chart\Dynamic in front end every things work fine except javascript since this class use javascript that only load in ACP the same thing with other Helper classes that only work in ACP i think all helpers should be global and we can use them in front end and admin panel without limitations i hope there is workaround on this limitation for now

After months of struggle and confusion with the support staff, I realize that since Aug 2015 (6 months) my community has all new members notification turned off by default due to some upgrades that happen in 4.0.10 - 4.0.13. This is totally unacceptable that IPB take such decision and decide to give no option to admin to toggle it on/off. It's my humble request and product feedback here to please switch these notification ON (by default) and give admin an option to switch OFF. These notifications are the integral part of any forum software that I have ever used since 2002. It's because of these notifications, community members get an idea to participate or not …
