Hi, My forum has 40 emoticons. Why when posting and trying to add one there is a list of only few? Clicking on Category -> emoticons expands the list? Is there a way to show expanded/full list by default? Cheers, Kris

Hi I would love it if streams could be made private for all users, I really dont like users simply guessing urls by changing the variable at the end and discovering what streams people have setup. It would also be nice if you could set your own end url instead of the number such as discover/certainsectionsfeed/ which also could be private so you wouldnt need to worry about duplication between users unless a public stream with the same end url exists. It would make it easier for end users to type the stream in and it would be useful for admins making more friendly urls for people to remember. One case of the privacy option being essential is if a moderator i…

Ive already mentioned how nice it would be if when checking Notifications from Bell/drop down menu that the ones not clicked would stay bold until clicked. As is, once you click one of many they all appear to have been clicked....thus impossible to clearly keep track of what you have reviewed/read. Ive also noticed that on Mobile once you click the Notifications drop down Bell/menu and click and review a Notification, the scroll will no longer work. You (at least me in 4.1.16.1) need to go down and click anywhere in the main board field and then go back in order to scroll through the Notifications listing. Nothing earth shattering , just an observation.

I just spent 2 hours figuring out why a POST to /core/members returns a 403 Forbidden altough I did double and triple check that I did grant access to those api calls. Turns out the call was successfull but a member with the same email exists - that's a terrible idea to use the HTTP Response codes to denote an error that is not related to http communication itself - thats not what they are made for... This makes it incompatible with PHPs HTTP Wrapper methods because they - understandably - expect a 200 OK from the server! PHP Warning: file_get_contents(https://www.example.com/api/core/members): failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 403 Forbid…

Please add an option to let users see that a post in a topic has been warning. I know that it may seem like an unnecessary feature because it's indeed not needed on small forums, but it's extremely important for us. Every day we have to give out tens of warnings for people who break the forum rules without realizing it. For example, we don't allow posting in all capital letters, and when someone does it, we issue a warning. However, since there's no way for other users to see that the post had been warned, they think it's ok to do it, and then we have to warn ten more posts in the same topic. It's just one example, but there's much more. If there was a small label th…

Hey there, first of all, I am new here, so if something of that is already possible be welcome to notify me. But as far as I know these things are not existing. My First point is about Donations. It is nice, that it is integrated with the rest of the commerce application but there are two things that would be really nice: It should be possible, to have a list of all Donators (that want to be listed) in the front end. It is always a good Idea to have the possibly to say "Thank You!" in public. (There has to be only a opt-out for some Donators, that don't want to be listed) There should be a option to set someone in a group after Donation (maybe also t…

In the activities stream there is a thumbnail for files, but there is no thumbnail for databases records that have record image. It would be nice to have the same behavior for databases records.

OEmbeds start to be a big things, popularized by wordpress, twitter, facebook etc. It allow to embed a post on a webpage using simply the url in an editor. I would love to embeds my forum posts in my wordpress article, or be able to embed a topic in another topic, for that ipboard must be an oembed provider. Evry week I am making article like "5 best thread on our forum" and the presentation just sucks. Of course, the idea was already express, but I couldn't find official feature request. I think if reddit have that function (see this article for example), ipboard must have it too !

In dev mode, you add a comment to the top of each template identifying what it is, which is really useful for figuring out what's causing things to happen or where to hook. It would also be really useful in designer mode, because it would allow the designer to figure out which template they need to edit, rather than having to dig through files to find the relevant one.

I would like to be able to change the number of downloads shown per page in the downloads section. Similar to topics shown in forums which have been added with last update 4.1.16 would be a nice feature.

There are a few topics on here titled "Poor Support", so I have titled mine "Good Support". Having been a customer for a good few years now, I have to say I have had very little issues with the forum and when I have, support have always been dealt with me quickly and efficiently. I have probably asked some of the daftest questions through support, but again, never been sent to the forums, always had the response and where required the action. So if anyone is looking at what the support is likely to be prior to purchase, I have nothing but praise. Long may it continue.

I would like to suggest that images can either be uploaded inline like we have now, or as a group and viewed with a slideshow tool. It can make pages rather messy to have a dozen pics from someone's vacation running on and on in the page, it looks so 1970's.

Currently there is no way to retrieve a member by email, unless you scan through the whole members list which sounds very inefficient. It makes the members API component fairly useless if you can't filter for certain members

Please set an option to stay on the page when editing a theme in ACP. As it is right now, after saving my edits it takes me back to the theme list.

Hi, I don't know if this is already possible (if it is, please let me know how to configure it). I think it would be a good idea to show one's child categories' items in a parent category. This could be something configurable. If someone wants the default behaviour, so leave it. In my case (and I guess I am not the only one), I have some general downloads categories that are just that, a category of categories. And when someone is in that level, it shows "0 items". It would be great to show its' children items. Cheers, Ibai

I have painstakingly translated my community in the past, it was a lot of work, but it was satisfying, as the translation was exactly how I wanted to (most translations are very, very bad). Upgraded to 4.1 today and all translations are gone. There is no Dutch language pack available for free, so I have to sink another $15 now or translate everything again? This is the worst I've encountered ever. What is IPS going to do about this? As I also have to pay to keep my account active every 6 months Money, money, money.

Since you updated the site to IPS 4.16 Beta, I have been having issues submitting or replying to posts with Firefox. When I click on the Reply button, nothing happens, after I refresh the page and try again, it works. I haven't tried this with another browser yet, will let you know as soon as I have. Is anyone else having the same issue? This is a test with Chrome. Seems that there is also an issue with Chrome when replying to posts.

Hi, after a poll, members of my community would prefer the Q&A replies sorted by date by default I found on this forum a "mod" with one template edit and one php file edit But I think that an option in the admin Panel would be great Regards This topic was very interesting

I can't help but be frustrated by the fact that when one sorts articles by title, the only available option for alphabetical sorting is ascending order, i.e. articles starting with A at the bottom of the list. This is extremely counterintuitive for those of us writing wikipedia/dictionary style database articles, where by default the majority of (if not all) people would appreciate the option to sort in descending order so that the list begins with A and ends with Z at the bottom. I'm no coder, but it doesn't seem like much to add given that one sort order is already in place...? So pleeeeeease could the option be added to articles for the user to choose an alphabe…

Hi there, For the custom profile fields in IPB 3.x, we were able to define a couple of key - value. For instance for a drop down box: flag_afghanistan=Afghanistan flag_albania=Albania flag_algeria=Algeria … flag_germany=Germany … flag_south_africa=South Africa … Then it was easy to retrieve the field key, and then process the data depending on that key. But now, under IPS 4.x, I can't see how it's possible to use these fields keys. In the admin, we can only fill in the values. Do you know how we can manage them? Help! Thanks

If a users content is moderated, the "reason for edit" cannot be seen by the user. If the " Show that the message has been edited" box is ticked, it is shown to everyone. So we currently have two options: Show to admins only Show to everyone Can there not be a third option to only allow the users whose content is being moderated to the see the reason for the edit? Along the same line, if that third option is selected, having that sent as a notification or PM to the user automatically would be easier than sending a manual message.

Many sites are moving away from security questions because they're found to be unreliable or unsafe. It's curious that IPS is adopting this instead of 2-factor authentication. Perhaps 2-factor is coming later, but the implementation of security questions should be raising eyebrows. I know there's an option for users to opt-out, but this puts security responsibilities on the user, and the user may be ignorant. http://research.google.com/pubs/pub43783.html https://security.googleblog.com/2015/05/new-research-some-tough-questions-for.html
