Hello Some of my forums guests do not have permission to view, in the past it displayed a nice protected forum message and displayed the number of topics/posts in that forum Is there anyway to change it to this as currently it just looks like half my forums are unused to the guest when there not.

Okay some 'newbie' help needed here with getting sphinx working. My host has installed sphinx on the server, but we seem to have two instances of it running: 580(searchd)/usr/bin/searchd/usr/local/etc/usr/bin/searchd --config /etc/sphinx/sphinx.conf581(searchd)/usr/bin/searchd/usr/local/etc/usr/bin/searchd --config /etc/sphinx/sphinx.confand my host has commented: So we need to know how to stop both instances, and how to restart it preferably with it looking in the '/public_html/sphinx_conf/' folder for the sphinx.conf file so that I can alter it myself. Hey, yesterday i bought additional applications like downloads or nexus. I'm self hosting. How can i add them to my forum? Do I need to download the whole IPS4, put them in root folder, and then upgrade? Or is there another solution, to install them like normal applications? Regards

Hello I use "Cache page output for guests" 10s, but "Data Storage Method" is file based. Now my cache table in database is 541,6 Mt. Is that normal? Its over 50% from whole database.

Hi at all (my third topic - last, i promise).... Many element imported from 3.3.0 - i've removed many of it (block etc), and maintained only article in database. But now i've article in entire page, without sidebar (no in pages, nor in forum). Is there any way to setup a sidebar for both? - Also, how i can move element in menu? IPB is a great app... Isn't possible we are no way to make a valid menu (like wordpress) :/

Hi! Just upgraded to 4.0.8 and I'm hoping someone can assist me in making my "Blogs" page look a bit prettier. The background -- as a physics teacher, I have many students who keep a blog as a running record of their thoughts and applications of principles from the classroom to real-world situations. This leads to hundreds of individual blogs on my site. With the new 4.0.8 blog screen, though, things look pretty ugly with all the stats to the left of the blogs (http://aplusphysics.com/community/index.php?/blogs/) Any experts out there who can provide some hints / tips into cleaning that up? I've tried to use many bootstrap script (slider, tabs, gallery) and none seems to be working it distorts my website and or it won't work, I've had a lightbox gallery script in the previous version and it was working fine, I've tried to bring it back and its messes up the page layout, menu etc. Why is it so hard to design pages in content/pages. in 3.4 I could of posted a slideshow from a galley while 4.0.x has very few feature that connect items from gallery/forums to pages. That should be the minimum when having a suite that they would complete each other.

I backed up my database before upgrade from 4.0.6 to 4.0.7 and then my database size was around 940 MB. Now after 2 weeks i made new back up and now size of that file is 4,2 GB!!! What! Any ideas why?

I keep getting this error Given URL is not allowed by the Application configuration: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App's settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App's domains. What's the new "Deauthorize Callback URL" for 4.0.8? I think this may be the reason.

Hello, Is there any way I can completely customize IP.Content's page <title>? As of right now, it's always followed by the "Site Name" title, I'd like to remove that part. I came across this here, but that doesn't seem to work. I assume that's dated, or am I doing something wrong? I'm using 4.0.7. I'm also seeking assistance for Menu links in IP.Content. Is there any way to set it to open in a new tab (target="_blank")? I'm only looking to do this to a few links that lead off-site.
