Hey All, I recently imported a WordPress db into Pages and am showing the content on root and forums in /forums. I wanted to get your opinion on SEO for doing redirects. I was planning on doing 301 redirects on my top 20 pages and then hopefully redirecting the entire site after that. Not sure if that is an option though. Startet getting e-mail from cron tab, whole site is down now: When I try to enter the admin area I get the following message: We're sorry, but a temporary technical error has occurred which means we cannot display this site right now. Evening all! I've just fully inherited a site that's been running Invision for about ten years. No posts in all that time have been archived, so I flipped it on, configured it, and let it go. That was two days ago, during which the task list says archiving runs every five minutes. Manual task runs say they're carried out successfully. But nothing gets archived. It tells me on the archive settings page that 96% of posts, or about 65,000, will be archived in the next run. It's said that for two days. I'll be most grateful if someone can tell me why this isn't working as it should. Thanks! -Dev

Hi All, Having an issue bring my site up from 4.1.19.2 to 4.1.19.4. I have attempted the upgrade and downloaded the files via the upgrade wizard, but cancelled it since the Chat portion didnt want to upgrade to .4 I would like to re-attempt this however i cant find a way to clear out the previous upgrade attempt. I am seeing this only: The files for version 4.1.19.4 are present but the upgrade has not been completed. Could someone let me know how to clear these out so i can attempt the upgrade again? I have attached another image that illustrates the issue with Chat. Cheers.

I am wondering if anyone knows a way to delete posts in a particular thread after a given amount of time. For instance, 24 hours after the post is made it gets deleted? I am wanting to do something in a similar fashion to how 4chan works. The purpose is to encourage people to check this particular thread often as content doesn't stay for very long.

For a variety of reasons, I have been using a Pay Pal button on the front page rather than Commerce. This time I am going to use Commerce. I did a test, purchased the item, and it worked. However, I got an email to my admin board email, but not my Pay Pal Biz account email. Is there some reason when using Commerce Pay Pal does not send an email to my Pay Pal email? I can't see a setting for it. I don't want thousands of emails going to my Admin email.... Thanks JM

Has anyone noticed any issues with the Bulk Mailer in the latest release 4.2 b5a? I have sent an email out to 4 members of staff via it of which I got it straight away (so am guessing they should have done too) however it was still stuck as running it as a background process. I then went into the background process in order to see what was going on but the only option was to run it manually - this in turn sent another email out. The background processing task then disappeared and in the bulk mailer it said it took 13 mins to send out the email. Anyone else noticed this or can reproduce it?

Up until recently, we used Varnish to cache the forum for guest users. We've shifted to a new server that's quite powerful and are now running Nginx and thought that instead of Varnish perhaps we could use Nginx's caching to save a step. We already have it set up for caching static content, but are there any guides available for setting it up to cache dynamic content and how to make sure those who are logged in can get the dynamic content directly rather than through the cache?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if maybe I'm overlooking something. On other sites using different software (vBulletin in particular), I've noticed that when you post a long hyperlink in a post, it shortens it by either (a) using "..." or (b) changes the link to the page title the link goes to. Is this a built-in feature for IPB? If not, is there a modification I can't seem to locate? Thanks!

For several hours I tried to set up the Google Login Handler ... without success. Although Google has changed the way of getting the Client ID and Client Secret I´m pretty sure that I got the correct ones. But trying to enter these values on my community only results in following message: Google rejected the details provided. Please check the details you provided have been entered correctly and try again. Is there something more to care about?

Hello, I have many spammers that have registered using mail.ru / inbox.ru email addresses, and have 0 posts (they use their account to access other sections of the website, that doesn't affect the posts count). I have created a ban-filter for this, but I already have existing fake users that are still active. I want to mark all of them as spammers - all users with ".ru" emails with 0 posts. I can see all of them in the admin panel (members section), but I have more than 500 users and there's no way (as far as I can see) to mass "mark as spammer" all of them. After converting from vbulletin I have (at least) three broken tags all youtube videos used to be embedded with bbcodes so now they show as [youtube]o3498ghnser5[/youtube]. Same for tweets. I'm aware of how they work now but is there something for fixing existing ones? all spoilers are broken because they accept an argument, [spoiler="about the ending of the movie"]Spoiler text[/spoiler] - (by the way I really think this is the superior way to do a spoiler tag...) Is there some way I can maybe parse these or convert them all?
