Hi guys, I am experiencing an issue with an upgrade. Stalled out on me with the following message: We were unable to start a PHP session. You will need to contact your host to adjust your PHP configuration before you can continue. The error reported was: session_start(): Failed to read session data: files (path: /var/cpanel/php/sessions/ea-php71) I get the issue regarding the path not being able to begin a .php session - but when I migrated servers I no longer use cPanel, but rather Interworx. Hello we have a problem that has never occurred before. During the user registration process the captcha is not loaded and prevents the completion of the operation. The captcha, whatever it is - google, hcaptcha and others - appears only occasionally and randomly and, in this case, allows registration correctly. We do not have any captcha plugins installed and the Invision Community version is v4.7.12 I kindly ask for your assistance Regards Enrico

Normally when I spot a new member who has posted spam I go to his profile and click "Flag as a Spammer", and that deletes his posts. However once in a while, the poster is flagged as a spammer, however the post remains, and I don't know why?

I just noticed that Our Picks and the Our Picks feed is not working anymore. I click on "Promote" for the item to be promoted, yet it never shows up in "Our Picks" page, nor the "Our Picks" feed. But it did promote, because if I view that item again, the button is set at "Re-Promote" indicating that it was promoted. Also, it is not promoting to Twitter, or X anymore. Any feedback or direction is greatly appreciated, thank you 🙂

Hello IPS, I experience and issue with PayPal payments where specific scenario may be not handled properly. Hi, We recently migrated to IPS. I've just become aware that none of the account name bans have carried across - I can live with that. What is more troubling is that more than 700 accounts* which have ever been suspended (over 19 years) - including a large number of account holders who requested 'time-out' limited suspensions - have had their IP and email addresses banned. * It is actually half that amount, but for some reason they all are entered twice, under two different dates. I upgraded my license to Classic. Downloaded a new package from my client area. Uploaded via FTP, overwriting duplicates. My website is a photography website. So photo quality is important to us, but naturally there are constraints on what can be achieved. We do ask users to resize their images prior to uploading, but I do not have any restrictions on image size for save or for display set. (We are a very small forum, so if a members forgets to resize an image we ask them to fix that or we resize it for them.) I recently tested changes to uploaded JPG files. We are using GD with JPG and WebP Quality = 100. Any uploaded JPG file is altered as compared to the original JPG. The quality of the image is slightly decreased. Why is that? We are feeding forum topics via RSS that is imported into Wordpress. So here is the problem. Every night, our WP portal looks like this: https://d.pr/free/i/XB7WNAWe don't get the article images in the RSS-feed, instead we get the logo of the source of the articles, which is at the bottom of the post. However, during the day, we get the correct images in the feed, like this: https://d.pr/free/i/xNGt3nAlso, see the attached image for the RSS feed to get an idea how it comes out wrong. Every user who registers for our Invision instance receives a "Your registration is complete" email. We would like to disable the mail, as we have an external user management that already sends a welcome mail. The user will now receive two mails. I could not find an option in the IPS Notifications Settings. Does anyone from the community know a way to deactivate the mail for all new registrations?

Hello, I am using the Most Used Tags application which is showing me the tags used on my forum posts. Through this I have noticed that when a tag is removed from a post it is not being removed from the database table core_tags. I did a clean up manually removing a lot of tags completely in each post, so now there are quite a few tags that are no longer in any forum post but they are still showing as present in the core_tags table. Can someone tell me why the tags are not being removed from the database table? It logs me out every 5 seconds. I've tried various devices, networks etc, Cloudflare is in developer mode so not caching... Your IP address does not match this session. Cancel that, this worked...
