  1. The variables are accessible from the widget as $memberCount, $guests, $anonymous, but the idea of the widget is to list the names of the members itself. It’s not about full stats. For an alternative view and a turn-key solution, you can also check out this plugin:
  2. Biggest problem with that is that profile fields don’t have permissions, so the typical target of the spammers can’t be easily addressed this way. (Not to mention that adding new groups for minor feature changes is an unnecessary hassle. You change like 3 things for the group and gain several hundred settings for the group you have to manage from now on. I used to have those entry level groups but it wasn’t worth it in the end.)
  3. Not much if your site has an international audience. They are humans who have the sad job of creating these accounts manually. The obvious solution would be to not give them anything to fill in after registration (Website, About me links …). But that’s something IPS needs to implement. Discourse solved that through its Trust Level System. Invision Community needs this as well. A new Discourse user cannot: A huge array of clever spam prevention measures which are slowly and automatically lifted over time when a user proves itself to be an actual member, not a spammer.
  4. It’s a per group setting. So you need to edit your standard member group.
  5. As mentioned, the name “Guest [something]” suggests, that these posts were NOT made by guests, but by (now deleted) members. The “guest” in the name doesn’t mean that this is a guest post, but that the account has been deleted.
  6. It’s this value in the theme settings: Replace the 80 with a higher value. The logo will then be scaled up.
  7. Put this in the custom.css .ipsBreadcrumb_bottom { display:none; }
  8. Can you please clarify how and when this is processed? What date exactly will that happen? Is is a specific date or tied to the renewal terms? What happens when someone doesn’t upgrade in time? Will they have their accounts put on hold? Or deleted entirely and instantly?
  9. Following a user through some shop categories is very different from online communities, where 99.9% of the user’s activity might be in the community area and the shop is maybe used once a year. In that sense an option to limit the use of the Stripe call would make a lot of sense.
  10. Then it is expected that the records are shown as new in listings and feeds.
  11. What have you set here? (Pages database settings)
  12. Sorry, I mixed up the numbers (Mac OS vs. Safari). I am on the latest release of Safari.
  13. I wouldn’t know how the IPS cache should influence file links. Try to make it replicable. If you see it, narrow down what the cause is. Use different browsers to rule out browser caching issues. Is there network caching (Cloudflare, internet provider et cetera)? Can you turn it off or use a different network? Is lazy loading turned on? Could it be an issue with that? A screenshot alone doesn’t indicate a specific problem.
  14. Create two blocks in the ACP, so they aren’t treated the same.
  15. When a Pages database contains a multi-upload image field, nothing can be uploaded in Safari 15.2. After selecting an image, the page just stalls or freezes entirely. I can replicate this on all my installations, including my cloud account. This is on the latest release and with a clean theme, no plugins and it also happens when the record is created in the ACP. No problems in Firefox and Chrome. [Edit: Safari version updated]
  16. Have you tried using the “show word keys” function?
  17. Yes, it is possible. For Stripe and credit cards, the user gets a checkbox to store the card authorization. For PayPal, there are the so-called Billing Agreements and when you set up the payment method, you choose if that is turned on, off or optional.
  18. ACP → System → Applications → System → Search → Permissions
  19. 3rd-party option:
  20. You can’t. Invision Community doesn’t have that option.
  21. If the string is parsed as HTML, you can just add <br> as a line-break.
  22. But what would the “fix” be? It’s intentional the way it is. Not every image in a post is suitable to represent the entire topic. If you want to assign the first attachment in a post, there is a marketplace file for it.
  23. Yes, that is the “Default Sharer Image” set in the ACP under “Icons and Logos”. If that image is present, it will be used for all forum posts.
  24. A link would help to see it. Wild guess: You use Google Adsense and they started an experiment on your site. In this case, you would turn it off in the Adsense settings.
  25. That doesn’t work. Again, you need to … 1. Activate the “Record Image" 2. You need an image uploaded for this field for each database record.
