PrettyPixels reacted to christopher-w in 4.5: Forum View Updates
We own a visual effects business and text on image is a bit of a nightmare, which is why most titles in broadcast will have either a solid background, or be formatted in some way, such as a 'lower third', or similar.
But on the whole, this is a great improvement, and presumably allows us to easily format text and container with CSS.

I like this idea a lot, I've been looking to do something like myself. Dave has done something similar on his StarTrekGate site.
Could this be an option? I would like to upload a picture with text already on it and have the info below (as seen above).

Would be nice if you could implement data-pagecontroller per each view and block controls for each view.

thank you for all this work. It's very good I find that IPS is really starting to be adapted to the level of needs as ease of navigation today.
I am far from being a designer but wonder if I should continue to write on the images directly in this way because I know that it is not too pleasant and a little difficult to read depending on the background colors.
Why not write below the image or use tools to better see ...
We could put an icon post and next to a number, an icon follower and next to a number, to avoid writing overload as much as possible

Super excited to see this! Thank you! 😍 Can't wait for it to be available for self-hosted licenses.

I am mainly interested in doing the internal automation for now. I.e. replacing the Rules app.

Finally! My heart literally skipped a beat, before I checked that it is only for cloud 🙂 Now I wonder if there is maybe a way that I start a cloud instance, call its rest api from my main community and work like that with zaps 🙂 There is no chance you are leaving it to be only cloud feature, right?

PrettyPixels reacted to Matt in 4.5: Notification Improvements
We updated the ACP to match the front end, but your point is valid, we can add a "remove all email notifications" link.

Please let us define the number of chars the preview is truncated because a lot of posts contain only a couple of words.
We removed the complete text preview from the emails. So the people always have to click the "go to post" button.

"to reduce the chance that a confused member will attempt to post a reply via the email! "
Thank you! I'm sure many of our members (older and not very tech literate) will still hit Reply, this should help. Much appreciated.

PrettyPixels reacted to BN_IT_Support in 4.5: Blog Categories
Hello,
Will we be able to set "permissions" on the blogs categories?
That would be a really important feature for us. We would like to have some blogs as "members only" but to have other blogs as "public". If these new blogs categories support permissions that that should solve our problem as we would be able to give the "Guest" group access to only the public blogs categories.
Thanks.
John

Can anyone answer if permissions can be applied to the categories? Would still like to know this.

I would appreciate if you can share some practical examples. I also feel that there are benefits from rss->zauper automation, but I cannot figure out a simple practical example 🙂

I have actually seen an uptick in interest in RSS from our corporate clients lately. Things tend to come and go in phases.

PrettyPixels reacted to Maxxius in 4.5: RSS Feed improvements
This is great, I will add a number of feeds of news websites and it will make my news articles even more quicker to be added.
Right now I had to resort to importing to a hidden forum which I read and promote to articles these posts that I liked.
Very good decision indeed. RSS is far away from being dead.

Great feature. I would like to have a feature photo function for forum threads, similar to that in blogs.

PrettyPixels reacted to MMXII in How to brand your community in minutes
The Color Picker needs some attention. I don't just want to click on some colors, I want to be able to add RGB values, HEX values etc.
Other than that I was expecting something about e-mail branding in 4.3, like the ability to add content from your community in the e-mail footer. I guess we will see that at a later time...

PrettyPixels got a reaction from DSystem in 4.4: New Email Features
I second this. I'd love to see a method to handle the bounced email automatically, with a method of prompting the user to update their email (maybe before being able to post on the site any further).
