  1. I'll be honest, the other day reading this thread I was really worried about the prices changes, lack of support, and wondering if I had made the right move from moving from Xenforo. But now that people have voiced their opinions and frustrations (myself included), it looks like things may be going on in the background with their support that we don't know about, and @Matt made some good changes already. I think we are going to be alight guys, now get in here for a group hug. ❤️

  2. This is kind of a bummer for me today. Just last week I was so excited to convert over from Xenforo. I thought man I really like this community and the route that they are going with their products. I wanted to join this platform so bad. Was so excited to see what the future holds. I really liked the way all the developers interreacted with the members here. I am ok with a slight price increase for a better product. I think the biggest disappointment is the lack of support coming. I am paying for a product, if I run into a problem with that product as long as I have active support I would like help with it. It's like purchasing insurance. Might not ever need it but it's nice to know that it's there. I even thought about paying for the premium support here recently. For $100 even if I never needed it I thought it's not to bad of a price, now mine shows $1250 for that same support. I thought this morning after checking out the new site design, that this was all just a mess up with the prices from the new site design. But after reading all day it seems real. No one will go with the addons purchases anymore unless you are a big forum because of the price increase. Then it will start a chain reaction and won't have developers anymore for addons since people will be bailing. Now I am stuck with two choices either pay the high prices or now I have to convert everything back over to Xenforo after being back with IPS for only a week. Kind of depresses me.

  3. Just wanted to chime in and give a big shout out to @Stuart Silvester. With his help I was able to successfully do a transfer. (Give this man a raise 😄). Also thanks to @Charles. It's customer service like this that a lot of forum software companies are missing these days. Glad to be back and be part of the IPS family once again.

  4. @anon2020 I spoke to @Charles the other day and he mentioned that they have a converter coming out that should be released in a week or two. I just renewed myself and am anxiously awaiting the converter as well, so that I can convert and come back to the Invision platform for Xenforo 2.2.6. Hopefully it will be done soon. I know there are quite a few of us on the Xenforo side looking to jump ship over here. I'll be watching the release notes and chomping at the bit in the meantime. 🙂

Hey @nodle I know you mentioned the drop off on Google page displays and a concern over sitemap.  Do you see a trend (either increasing or decreasing) in your Google Analytics of the number of actual users and sessions over the same time frame?

The sitemap may show more or less pages being indexed, but what ultimately matters is the number of visitors and real engagements.

No same visitors as always, we have our regulars. My site is not a large forum with tons and tons of people. It's been around for a long time though and always sat at number one spot for many years, then out of the blue at the end of last year, it starts to drop off Google all together. No decrease in regulars etc. Just strange, then I run across this thread and I thought maybe it was related like everyone else did.But I am sure it is like @Matt said, it's just the new way of Google handling things I guess.

Basically you are now tuned into believing IPS has an SEO problem, so you are seeing 'evidence' of that everywhere, whereas you are not really active over at xenForo so you do not notice the issues they may (or may not have).

Like I said I know it's not your IPS fault. Just like everyone else in this thread I came looking for an answer to "why". The link you posted here:

    https://xenforo.com/community/threads/seo-poor-after-move-to-xenforo-from-ipb-help.129943/

Basically this was from him switching over and if you look at the date June 7th was way before all of this started happening with Google at the end of 2017. Mine site was fine until the end of December. Anyways it doesn't matter, I will just patiently wait until 4.3 comes out. I am interested with the changes to SEO that you made and will see if that makes a difference. :)

I've had a quick peek at your site, and I think you're probably being penalised based on your keywords. Given the prevalence of 'fake news' and Google/Facebook being pressurised to do something about those sorts of sites, your keywords 'community forum for members to discuss the paranormal, conspiracies, ufos, games, reviews, technology, politics' probably are a bit of a red flag.

That's not quite fair, I know it's nothing to do with IPS, but who is Google/Facebook to say what is real news and what is not? Seems like it's forcing people to think one way or the other, very Orwellian. I know I had a ticket in about a year ago for some sitemap problems, and I wonder if it might had never been truly fixed? It always worried me because it wouldn't set to defaults. I keep an eye on Xenforo since I used them for years, and I haven't seen threads like this over there much. So it's starts to panic me like "should I switch back to Xenforo 2 for improvements"? But I know you guys are doing what you can.

  8. I don't want to be a bearer of bad news either, but I have had HTTPS set in my Google search console for quite some time since I went to HTTPS early back in the day. But still whatever has changed has dropped me from Google's search results from #1 for my forums name to about page 7 or 8 in Google's search results. Almost completely removed me now. I haven't changed anything either. This last week I tried replacing my robots.txt to something new hoping anything would make a difference. Just grasping at straws here now. Hoping 4.3 comes out soon and it fixes things. I am at a loss here.

  9. A suggestion would be either in this plugin or a new plugin. A Top Reactions filter. Basically this would calculate the most reactions to post for a thread either in a week/month/year format. When clicking on the thread in the widget it would take you to the post with the most reactions.

can you give me a link so i can see this @nodle

and do you have the plugin also installed he is talking about?

I have that plugin and he is saying that these two plugins together wont work....i think..i could be wrong though, apologies in advance if i am

Oh so you are running another add-on that interferes with it then? If so you may have to wait for a fix from him then.
