  1. I thought I would chime in here and say that I split 2 posts here maybe a few weeks ago and I also got the same error as above. It did seem to move them but generated an error. I haven't tried again since the latest update. But I don't split many posts so I just figured the DEVs would catch it and fix it in a future update.

  2. No changes to the templates, and yes email body content is just fine and looks good. I just didn’t know if this is the default for everybody else or not? I have looked through all the setting and I’m just using the default php send version. I just didn’t know if I am missing a setting or not? It’s not to big of a deal, just looks strange.

  3. I noticed that when I receive emails from my site, it’s showing a strange render, see screenshot below. See how it shows app=core&module etc… Any ideas or is this normal? This is from the stock iPhone email client. I have don’t really see any setting that can change it in my ACP. Anyway to fix it?

  4. I was wondering if maybe I am doing something wrong? I have enabled in ACP>Members>Notifications>Automatically follow content> I have checked both create and reply to, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be working. Now I know that a member can set this themselves, but even I have this enabled, and if I create a topic or reply it does not automatically allow me to follow it. Is there something that I am missing? I have also reset all members to default before enabling this as well. Shouldn't it just work? It works fine here on IPS when I create or replay to a topic I automatically follow it.

    EDIT*

I just assumed that enabling this option enforced this to all members, or does it apply to new member creation only? Is so is there a way to default everyone to this state? I think when I did my conversation it disables this on everyone by default.

  5. I noticed on my site and even on IPS site here when you paste a Twitter link it no longer shows the placement card, only the text. See example on this site here:

Anyone else notice this on their site? I am using the latest Edge browser.

    Here is a random one:

  6. Bumping this, it's 2021, I am sure IPS could code this in a day and add it to a release with a simple toggle option in the ACP with an option for some .CSS coloring. Yes I know there are addons for it, but I think it's time to add it in the base code and theme.

just out of my own curiosity, is this something that has just come to light or something you've been dealing with for a while?

No I only recently converted over from Xenforo about 3 weeks ago and started to notice it. I did disable the search module for members only which worked, but when viewing as a guest your not able to click on tags since they must rely on the search function to work properly. So I had to re-enable, which in return brought back the spam searches.

The only way to stop people from adding any search would indeed be to disable the search. There isnt really any way around that. What you could do however is to ensure you have a reasonable flood control enforced. That way it really shouldnt matter

Thanks @Marc Stridgen. Flood control isn't an issue, it's just so many spam entries that it's really hard to tell what people are searching for through all the spam. A suggestion for a future update would be an option to enable the captcha option in the ACP to apply to the search function.

  9. Has anyone else noticed tons of Chinese searches on your forums. I know that in ACP under Statistics>Searches there are just tons of Chinese spam lookups. About the only way I see to combat this is to disable the search module for guests, but then they can't use the tags function. Does anyone else run into this or have a solution. It would be nice to see invisible captcha or something similar for guests when using search.
