Agreed.  It would be really nice to be able to specify a list of pages (or apps) exempt from advertisements.  For example, if I wanted ads in forums and blogs views but not in galleries, or if I wanted website.com/VIP/home ad-free as opposed to Member homepages, etc.
It also seems as if there can be only one ad in a given location.  It would be nice, for example, to be able to put two ads in the sidebar and determine their order without having to mess about with custom locations in templates.

Is it just me ... or do I remember being promised more control over where my ads are placed?
I specifically want to have certain clubs have zero ads and also no ads on the registration page etc....
I cannot find the references to this promise anywhere?
    Or is it just me?

I've tested this on a development site with 4.4.1 and everything seems to be working fine, but I'll leave it to you to see if there's a need for an updated version. 👍

Good to know this is good for 4.4, but you should probably update the specific compatibility information on the product page, since the right-hand menu says 4.4 but the info line for the app says Compatible with IPB 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 😉

IPB just came out with 4.4.0 less than a month ago sorry wrong version of what I said early.  I wanted to see if Keyword Tooltips 3.1.5 will be updated to work with the newest release due to some structure changes because of the update IPB did. Current it only supports Compatibility 4.3.

I wont be upgrading any of my free resources (with the exception of dev toolbox) to 4.4, as i don't have the time to maintain them any longer, but all my paid applications will be getting a 4.4 maintenance fix, i will release them over the next week.

Adding front-end Pages elements to Clubs has to be a no brainier. IPS said it would be added later when Clubs were announced.
The drag & drop WYSIWYG content block
I think the majority of clients would first make use of the Pages front-end WYSIWYG block, to have blocks of cacheable content including text and images which they can drag where they want, into a single or multiple column layout.
It would be ideal for homepages/about pages, basically any kind of information and content needed to add value, sidebar content blocks etc. Actually the same principal as that behind members being able to add custom content blocks to their Blogs several years back; to personalise and make relevant and interesting content available including text, image, video/music embeds and other file attachments, links etc.
    Pages Articles
Giving members ability to create articles in the Club with the editor should be a basic requirement allowing for Club news, featured content, content categories, paid or free, RSS feed imports.
    Calendar Intergration
Have to say the Calendar access via Clubs is very limited without allowing Club owners the ability to import iCal RSS news and event feeds into Club Calendar and potentially Pages Articles.

This goes back to the point I've been saying for some time, Pages front-end should be enhanced to supplement the current page layout and record options with drag and drop, touch ready call to action blocks, sliders, carousels, news article sliders, pricing tables, quote blocks, image and video blocks, testimonial blocks, etc. Droppable into full-width rows, 1-12 column rows.
Add those 'Divi' style features to Pages for Clubs and you've nailed it, ultimate flexibility and personalisation.
Add New Page to Club, choose initial 1, 2 or 3 column layout, add row, make full width or add columns to that row. Add custom text WYSIWYG blocks, slider, image blocks. Job done.

@Koper74 I agree - Clubs should be expanded to include Pages and everything else required to allow clubs to be "sub-sites" from the existing site if required.  Right now, Clubs forums and blogs can;'t even be included in feed widgets, which is pretty lacking IMHO.

I second this.  I already use Clubs to host academic reading and research groups, but pages would go a long way toward monetising Clubs for online courses.
<gratuitous promo> @Adriano Faria is also working closely with some of us on an Invision LMS platform, which may be able to make even better use of Pages in Clubs.</gratuitous promo>

Oh, and a big one: Online Courses!
With Pages databases in clubs we could easily sell online courses with articles, video lessons and so on. The entire club could be a paid course and the usual features like discussion area are there already as well. And members could make money selling courses and admins can get a cut of it.

One thing that comes to mind off the bat is something which many websites (let alone Clubs) lack - and that is a comprehensive About page.
Personally, I find it annoying when I visit a site only to find that there is no page or section which clearly describes what the site is about or what it aims to do (what community it seeks to foster, what hobby/hobbies it focuses on, etc).  I take the point that Pages is a formidable app with access and knowledge requirements above most average users, but perhaps a somewhat simpler interface is possible - as mentioned, something like Articles where pages can be added to a simple menu system.  But apropos of my previous point, the ability to include widgets and feeds on these pages is something that would have a lot of potential for any Club.  Clubs Enhancements has a "Home Page" option, and it's useful, but if you want to sex up your Club and make it more appealing something else is needed.
Not to mention that the more relevant content a Club has in pages (and elsewhere), the greater its potential visibility to search engines.

Can you give me some examples of how you'd like to use Pages in clubs?

What sort of functionality would you need?

A main reason might be that it’s an admin feature by design. Everything about the set-up of Pages happens in the ACP. Setting up pages, databases, fields, templates – all ACP features. It’s a powerful and therefore complex app that can’t just be easily expose to club owners (i.e. regular members). The Pages app would have to be rewritten to be front-end editable. And if you do that, you open a huge security hole, since Pages allows a lot of raw code everywhere.
There might be a chance for feasible compromises though and I am hoping it will come someday.

The author mentioned above hasn't logged into this site yet this year so I would definitely steer clear buying the app that would provide this functionality.
So I really wish that IPS would provide the functionality themselves.
